We need your feedback on an update to the rarity system!

I would LOVE for 4 new categories to be added. As has been discussed by other posters, it would allow for much more accurate understanding of rarities, especially with the notches system. Looks great!

Add four new rarity categories!
Change the word "Extremely" to something else such as "Highly" rare.

Right now there is a BIG difference between an Uncommon and a Rare, or a Rare and a Very Rare!
And a VR to an OMGSR if you look at it.

But maybe this is part of the fun that makes trading challenging

If all these new categories are added, could we please get a feature where we can see the rarity by clicking on the date the pet was adopted? Like in that black bar where we can see the time the pet was adopted? Having to click on each pet and bring it up in a new page just to see the rarity is already extremely tedious and takes too long to sort groups. Four new categories would just make that process take even longer. It would be very helpful to be able to see rarities of one's pets without going to a new window/page and then having to hit the back button and try to remember which pet you just clicked on lol.

Where are you looking at your pets that you can't see their rarities? When looking at them in your groups, the rarity should display under the adoption date already

when looking at one of your groups you can see text in big letters at the bottom that says "My account". under it there are two options, click the one that says "Change pet display settings". this brings up two options for you to select, check the box "Show pet rarities under pets when viewing pet groups" and hit the "save settings" button!

I did that, but it still doesn't show it. It might just be this old tablet.

Edited: Nope, it's not just my old tablet. I tried it on my phone too and it's still not displaying the rarities. Maybe it only shows on PC? I don't know, I don't have a PC so I can't test that.

Very exciting to see a majority agreeing on four new categories. I'm a massive nerd so I love more compartmentalization.

However, I do see the problem that even more people might stop looking at the dates and just try trading by rarity, which clearly would bring an even bigger mess to the system as it already is right now. while trading for the new 2023 rare token pets this is a bad trend I observed: I've been offering uncommons from 2014/2015 for them and people have been turning them down saying it's unfair to them due the fact uncommon =/= rare, which clearly isn't by the fact of the solid 8/9 year gap between the pets.

If we are redistributing and revising, people should be reminded that dates should be necessarily taken into account while trading.

This makes no sense whatsoever. It shouldn't be that way. Rare will always be less in circulation than uncommon. I'm honestly so mindboggled by this belief because other than "older pets are more likely to have found their forever home" which I don't really buy given the amount of pets in the pound and how people give away and trade pets from locked groups all the time, there is literally no reason to ever believe an uncommon is equal to or worth more than a rare. I can understand the date stuff in regards to the same rarity where we can't be sure where they fall on a range (which this should fix by making those ranges much smaller), but this is just. Nonsensical.

I have to say that I’m completely bewildered by this perspective because trading by rarity alone is probably the most ideal outcome for the system. :0 if players traded by rarity and demand/species/dates weren’t factors, then trading would be so smooth and seamless. common for common, rare for rare, omgsr for omgsr. I don’t necessarily think that would happen because I think demand will always be a factor - for better or worse - but I have to fully disagree and say that I would see it completely the opposite; that moving towards a trading system more dependent on rarity than any other factor would fix so many current issues with trading on CS.
