Clyde goes out early and snuffles around through the weeds and underbrush of the meadows until he's able to turn up some useful tidbits. He's located a cluster of Fish Eggs Berries! Picked x2!

Rowan meanwhile has heard a juicy rumor about a cache that was hidden by a previous adventurous young Chimeleon from the local band. There's a serious of silly, nonsensical clues to unravel, but Rowan feels more sure with each one that there really is something at the end of it all! At last, they emerge into a clearing where a telltale stump looms large. The tree cut from here must have been MASSIVE! At its base, Rowan notices a small hollow. They bravely reach in, producing a pouch full of Cat's Eyes! +42 CE!

Ember's off on adventure once again! Zie knows there's something bigger out there, and zie wants to know what! Initial excitement wears off after a couple hours of trailblazing through dense foliage, however... Until zie catches sight of what is quite clearly an abandoned campsite. Though it's long since been left for wild animals to commandeer, there's a perfectly good utility harness hanging from a makeshift clothesline... surely no one will miss this.

Tad Cooper is in search of inspiration. He wants to find a truly new and different trait that speaks to him. But everywhere he looks, it's the same old same old. He hasn't found anything interesting yet.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch nearby mall... if you can call an hour long trot nearby, Kristin hunts for interesting fabricated traits. She sees interesting mane styles, sure, and tails that she's never seen the shape of before! But everyone's moving so fast in this city atmosphere, they can't get a proper look at anything long enough to absorb its essence. Nothing this time!

Gable spends a fruitful day scavenging for signs of treasure along the seashore. He sees some cool crabs and seagulls, but his focus is on treasure, not traits, so he keeps his head in the game. It pays off when he finds a lockbox, lock broken, washed up in the sand! Inside there's still 27 CE!

Sandy's been tirelessly looking for lone Chimeleons who might like to join the band, but though she searches high and low, all she sees is Gable down a cliff from where she stands, rooting through the sand for goodies. Then, just as she turns her gaze to the horizon, she sees the outline of another Chime down the beach from Gable! She's off at a run, in pursuit. (Likeliness of finding a loner boosted for Friday results!)

Melon and Zip both spend this week looking for treasure, heading in opposite directions. Melon climbs a well known, very challenging hiking trail, at a leisurely pace. They're after loot, not glory. Unfortunately, all they find is some food wrappers from littering hikers... so far.

Zip, contrastingly, heads for the ruins of an old button factory. It's a little spooky heading inside, but they've heard rumors that somewhere among all the bins still brimming with forgotten buttons, there's a bin of cat's eyes. They search diligently, knocking on walls for sounds of hollow spots, peering along the floor for signs of a trap door, and rifling through bin after bin after bin of ugly beige buttons. Finally, exasperated, Zip accidentally tips one over. The buttons spill all across the floor in every direction, but so do heavier, shinier small round objects. Jackpot! Zip's found 81 CE!

Tad Cooper trots around quite energetically, looking into the sky, up at the mountains, into trees in search of animals scampering overhead... but no matter where he trots, he just doesn't feel that pull of understanding. He hasn't learned any new traits this week.

Kristin scouts out an old fairground. It seems like a great place to find traits! But everything's so dusty, the paint peeling so much, and so much overgrown with nature, she doesn't turn up any manmade traits. On the way out, though, she's surprised to notice a scrap of colorful paper fluttering in the light breeze, bouncing after a bunch of torn fair tickets. She snatches it up and discovers to her delight that it is a fragment of a treasure map!

Ember is at it again, hunting for a big surprise. Zie tries to heighten the surprise element by exploring for a time with zir eyes closed, but that quickly proves dangerous in the rooty, thorny, forest area zie's traipsing through. It's a good thing zie decides to open zir eyes when zie does! Right in from of zim is a strange voucher ticket. It says on the back "Good for 1 FREE Apparel item from Jasp, priced 200 CE or less!" That's weird. Who's Jasp? Ember feels quite sure there isn't any apparel store nearby. Maybe zie'll just hang onto it for later...

Sandy knows she just saw a loner in the distance, but by the time she races down to the shoreline, any sign of them, including tracks, have been sifted away by the sea. Ugh. As she continues along the sand in the direction she saw the loner, though, something appears, bright and red against the cool cream of the beach. Huh. What's this? Who's Jasp? Maybe it was the "loner"?

Melon tries again valiantly to find some good loot out in the wilds. They snoop in all the likely places: the fireplace of an abandoned hunting cabin, in the hollow of a particularly old stump in a clearing, in the fountain in the park, and between couch cushions. But they turn up not one Cat's Eye.

Rowan loses interest in treasure hunting really quickly when some local younguns invite them to play a game of soccer. Maybe... next time?

Update: Discord server is here! Also, help maintaining things!

I am happy to share a quick announcement regarding two things that I hope will keep Chimeleons running smoothly well into the future.

The first is the creation of a Discord server! I am... not the most experienced server host, so if something doesn't work or you have suggestions, please let me know.

My hope is that maintaining an optional server will help myself and anyone else who would like a quick way to ask questions or get updates/reminders. The server will also feature games and giveaways in the future, along with providing a spot to hang out and chat about Chimeleons and all the different things you can do with your Chimes.

Secondly, as Chimeleons gets a little bigger, I want to continue allowing 3 Chimeleons at a time to do activities from any one player's roster. I also want to be able to make my Wednesday and Friday Quest Updates more or less consistently as far as time of day goes. Because my new IRL work has... eaten my life, my spouse CousinEnby and I have conferred, and zie will be slowly taking over some bookkeeping duties for me. There won't be any change in actual management--for now Enby will simply be recording everyone's entries for questing, internships, raffles, etc., as they appear on the thread, and passing it on to me so that I can effectively plan results and no one will slip through the cracks.

Enby should also be able to answer some questions and will have mod status in the Discord server, and may take over archiving some things in the future!
