i think this is a valid opinion, the issue is that tess and nick arent talking to us, if they dont want to change anything they need to say something so players who keep pushing for change can know. How many more threads like this have to keep popping up you know?

I honestly agree with both of you. Chicken smoothie is simple and perfect just the way it is. It is very young-adult/kid friendly, and I like that about ChickenSmoothie. I don't blame people for quitting due to the security issues, but with todays technology no amount of security can keep hackers out 100%, its just part of the gamble of being online now a days.

I do agree that tess or nick should let us know about the users pushing for change. Just to calm everyone down and let us know where they stand on that subject.

i think this is a valid opinion, the issue is that tess and nick arent talking to us, if they dont want to change anything they need to say something so players who keep pushing for change can know. How many more threads like this have to keep popping up you know?

there could be a lot of possibilities. the staff group may be speaking amongst themselves about the upheaval -- but they could also be adults with fulltime jobs, personal struggles, and this is just a side gig that they had growing up, and is just a nostalgic little site to come back to, for them. maybe they are conflicted about the upheaval and don't know what to say? there's so many things that they could change, but if they don't want to, if they were to make an announcement of "you may see changes in the future, but for now we are just trying to keep things simple and keep a steady, easy-to-play, easy-to-grow community-based adoptable website for anyone of any age to enjoy" ---- in that case, i feel there would be just as many complaints.

it is definitely troubling that they haven't responded at all to this thread, but at the same time, i think it's understandable to a point. so many people get blown-up and discarded nowadays for making small choices and small comments -- they're probably just anxious, not sure what to say if they were to say it.

that's just my take on it, anyways.

Yeah, in my opinion, it's super rude for the people who run the website to have things like "suggestion threads" as subjects in forums and then completely ignore everyone and everything people suggest. This is a site where people have paid real life money on. At the very, very least, they need to be coming on here and saying, idk, SOMETHING. They need to stop giving us false hope that stuff could change/improve when in reality they don't care enough to even acknowledge when their user base has major problems with the game.

I've been a while for quite a while and in that time ive taken quite a few very long breaks. Something ive noticed is i dont usually come back until im really bored, or for the summer event. Theres not much to do here any other time of year. I think it would be really cool if they added some sort of mini games. I also think it would be cool if members designed them (maybe through a contest?). I also think it would be cool if they added a little avatar you could dress up, maybe have it somehow work with items (similar to how goatlings does their avatars). Ive also said this before on other similar threads that somehow they should increase their media presence. I didnt even know there was an instagram till today while going through some of this thread. I think an actual media outlet would be a good way to add a new gen of players to this game.

I really agree with the thought that Nick and Tess would do everyone a lot of good if they said whether or not CS is simply a side gig that the two of them are maintaining on behalf of the users but not looking to update or improve beyond that. it's not inherently a bad thing if that's the case of course, I think most users would have enough understanding to get why something might just not be a priority anymore, especially something that started so long ago. but truly it is very discouraging not knowing one way or the other and being made to wonder.

im sure someone has already said this, but something that rlly frustrated me today especially is the realization that in order for me to get some of my dreamies (ie: the cerbs) i would literally have to spend almost $300 in ACTUAL money just to get the c$ amount that some ppl are asking for.
the asking prices for some of those older pets/store pets are just absolutely ridiculous. $300 FOR PIXELS ?? and thats just ONE pet.

this particular problem out of many of the others has a lot to do with the inflation of c$. I don't know anyone who would buy c$ at those rates, but there are plenty of things onsite that go for many thousands of chicken dollars other than pets (like art, adoptables, etc.) i've sold a commission before here on CS for 2k c$ - which would be $105 in USD, which is not an amount that I would have asked for that piece in real money. but c$ is much easier to get using methods that don't involve paying for it.

of course there is also a problem with the value system of pets in general, and trading is indeed a nightmare, but the inflation of c$ is a major issue that's been brought up a few times. I think the last time it was brought up, CS artists started releasing regular c$ store item sets, which is a feature I've personally really enjoyed. and I do think it has helped, but probably only a little.

i understand that there's probably a few issues with the site, but, in my wholehearted opinion, the site is community-run. it's community-based. we can join the discord for daily interactions with random community members, which is definitely new to me as i just joined the discord a few days ago. we can play random forum games to interact with random community members. if you really want to, you can exchange discords and make friends with each other outside of CS.
            -snip-

I just want to put in my two cents here -- as long as Tess and Nick are selling c$, its not community-run. They are making money off of this game, they raised the prices in the c$ store (which is the only way to obtain anything of value on this website as a new member) and put absolutely 0 effort into hearing us out and making changes to the website. There are many ideas being thrown around, and they dont need to implement them all... BUT all it takes is 1 announcement, 1 comment, 1 change, to give us hope... and they just dont. Its so disheartening.

We were both here during the early days, so I imagine you feel the difference between then and now in terms of Tess & Nicks presence and effort into CS. I really enjoy the never-changing cs as well -- its why I come back all the time. The issue is that this game is so impossible to progress in, boring as hell (in terms of lack of changes/predictable events/low value monthly adopts/etc), expensive, and over-moderated, that new members have no reason to stay. I commend your love for CS and coming back after that horror story you just told us! If that happened to me though... I would hate to play this game without the value of my old account. if I had to restart, I dont think Id ever come back. Its just too hard. I feel like big changes need to happen to stop people from quitting/leaving cs because I want us to keep lining Tess and Nicks pockets with c$ purchases, but... they dont deserve it IMO :( New members deserve better.

I think its funny that you posted this right as I was about to post my rant about c$ lol! I totally agree with you though! 300$ for pixels on a website that is entirely neglected by its owners. Go figure!
