on the day of the event that CS had the "search party" text generator (where you could click a button and see your username pop up alongside other active players in fun scenarios), I saw Tess' username pop up several times. so she's checked the site and even played in the event some, at least.

i'm not discrediting you i'm just bringing this up -
that event had a feature where staffs username automatically popped up, like it was preprogrammed (ex: twilispark went camping with TESS and SIMON!). did you see that or was it like - Tess went fishing!

it's genuinely pretty concerning to me that we haven't heard anything from higher-ups about this? this thread was absolutely massive the first day it was up, and people are continuing to stand by everything that was said. the complete lack of any input from tess or nick has me so genuinely disappointed. i feel like a "hey, we'll respond soon, thank you for your conversations" would be more than adequate right now- i understand that the sheer size and intensity of this thread must be overwhelming. but to hear nothing?

i don't know... i didn't have much hope in things changing before, but seeing this being completely ignored by those in charge is incredibly discouraging. when numerous people have voiced their concerns about you not caring for a site you own and operate... wouldn't you say something? where are Tess and nick? genuinely, does anyone know if they even check the site anymore?

Nick was just on to fix a bug when the event happened and when this thread was up and said nothing. At this point if there is no announcement said by nick or Tess ill just be done. If they don't care about this thread and want to keep things the way it is then they need to say that so we aren't just making threads like this over and over again.

Been on here for a while and there is no point on being here if we aren't appreciated enough to at least get a message from them. Trying to keep this thread up so maybe something can happen but I'm losing all hope and I'm so burnt out from being here.

it's probably contradicting everything that y'all are saying, but i thought i'd put in my two cents. i've been lurking in this thread, haven't posted yet, but put it in my bookmarks to see random topics of conversation. i'm a young adult going to university, and i've never considered quitting.

i've been on since 2008, i had plenty of reason, probably, to quit when i was banned in 2014 for "having multiple accounts" when my sister gave me all her pets after quitting. there were a few emails back and forth in 2014 with cs staff, but it got nowhere and, since i wasn't able to prove that it was my sister and not a second account, i couldn't get my account back. so probably less than a week after the fiasco, i started up again on this account.

it bothered me for a long time, because i had so many good pets on my 08 account, but after about 9 years of being back on the site, i still haven't given up hope, or, well, happiness? i find so much peace and so much nostalgia in the little things - literally just the pet adopts, pm's with random people, and with little friends i've made over the years. just the anonymity and freedom -- as someone who doesn't have a ton of friends irl, has huge trust issues, this is a little safe haven. we don't have to worry about two-facers, gossip, the like.

i understand that there's probably a few issues with the site, but, in my wholehearted opinion, the site is community-run. it's community-based. we can join the discord for daily interactions with random community members, which is definitely new to me as i just joined the discord a few days ago. we can play random forum games to interact with random community members. if you really want to, you can exchange discords and make friends with each other outside of CS.

chicken smoothie, i don't think should be perfect. it shouldn't be completely technologically advanced and up to date. it's simple, kids can safely come on and play, i'd be happy to let my kids play once they're old enough. other adoptables websites have become more complicated, integrating little events that, if you miss a year or two and try to come back, you lose so much value for the game. chicken smoothie? i've come and gone for 15 years, taking year-breaks sometimes, but i've never felt "out of the loop". chicken smoothie is just the same, every time i've returned. there's little things that change, that are easy to adapt to, the adopts are simple enough to catch up on.

chicken smoothie is chicken smoothie. in my opinion, it's perfect the way it is.

i'm a pretty sentimental person, so maybe that's it. but i don't think anything should really "have" to change. the admins/moderators are doing great, if they have the same ideals as i do.

there was an uncontrolled security leak from other adoptable websites, which the staff had no part in, but they hopped to it and the site hasn't fallen apart. i know a lot of people were harmed from it, but the staff can't satisfy every individual user's hopes and desires. they're doing maintenance, and what has to be done to keep the site alive. i have absolutely zero complaints. the site is alive and well, to me. <3

i think this is a valid opinion, the issue is that tess and nick arent talking to us, if they dont want to change anything they need to say something so players who keep pushing for change can know. How many more threads like this have to keep popping up you know?

I think the issue here is that a lot of users are not on the side of feeling like CS should adapt to modern-day websites and work up a polish to compare to newer online games. people are mostly just asking for quality-of-life updates and features. people are getting burned out and frustrated with the game in a lot of different ways, ways that would significantly improve with very small, non-drastic changes. several of which have been asked for in active threads 5 or even 10 years ago. which are still unanswered.

tenor the rat god wrote:there was an uncontrolled security leak from other adoptable websites, which the staff had no part in, but they hopped to it and the site hasn't fallen apart.i know a lot of people were harmed from it, but the staff can't satisfy every individual user's hopes and desires. they're doing maintenance, and what has to be done to keep the site alive. i have absolutely zero complaints. the site is alive and well, to me. <3

I agree that CS staff was not at fault for the leak, but there is still a fair criticism that other users have had about there being a lot of benefits if CS were to update its security system. to me that's not really,, about "hopes and desires," but about genuine problems.

and there isn't, well, "maintenance" being done on site. the artists/mods/helpers/etc do a really good job of keeping things from breaking down completely, of course, and Nick does come in to fix serious bugs when needed, which is appreciated. but there is still a drastic need for updates in several areas of the site, that at least to our knowledge, are not able to be considered or implemented because of the silence on behalf of Nick and Tess.
