CS OFFICIAL INSTAGRAM SUGGESTION THREAD

Unfortunately the original idea for staff takeovers has been rejected by administration as the instagram should focus solely on CS as a brand instead of the individuals behind it. Because of this, going forward, all suggestions should be based around and achievable by the staff anonymously.

Original ideas:

"Day in the life" - Non-identifiable video content (probably a reel) maybe showing how one gets ready for "a day at work" of working on CS (Are they tea or coffee drinkers? Do they nest in a pile of blankets or sit at a desk? What do they do on CS? etc.) - Declined by Admins

"Story Q&A" - An obvious choice, the floor is open for people to ask questions to the staff taking over, more personal than the ask the staff thread. - Declined as the Ask the Staff thread exists

"Art shares/Dressups" - Maybe reel format; The staff could share some art they're working on, timelapse of some pet or item art from the recent past, or even make a Dressup for a monthly challenge. Good choice to "advertise" the dress up feature and/or share how a person thinks artistically.

"Giveaways" - A good use for the GHAA rare+ pet pool, especially for the pets there are only one or two of. perhaps a companion thread on CS could be used to giveaway pets on BOTH CS AND INSTAGRAM at the same time?

Community suggested ideas:

"Community Interviews" - Potentially written interviews with notable members of CS, or stories from members of CS, who have things to say. New staff, popular artists, project organizers, Community members, etc.

"Pet site collabs" - Details still rough

"Biweekly? updates" - More frequent site updates and announcements on Instagram. Midmonth update repost and end of month update? Flexible idea

"History of CS and fun facts" - There are likely things new and old users alike have never heard about in the lore of CS. Custom items? Cake making contests? Merch? Perhaps a series of short videos where each "episode" details an event in CS history

"What is CS?" - Player experience and diving into what CS is and how it works. Essentially a New player tutorial.

Applying Short video content ideas to other platforms like Youtube shorts and TikTok

"Ask the community" - A question is asked to the community, for example, "what is your favourite pet on CS?" and answers are shared

"Instagram post Forum games (This or that?)" - Tea Vs. Coffee, or other simple forum games, played in stories

I'll be watching this thread and passing on ideas, updating this post as I see things that work. Feel free to discuss and build off of each other!

I'd love to see use of the hashtag (I think IG messed with it tho) and the tagging system to share fanart, dressups, etc. with the CS account and every week or so there's a post slideshow with all of them that last week.

Would also be cool to use it as a platform to share announcements, updates, etc. especially in the case where the servers on CS go down.

we don't see a huge number of directly CS fanart on the tags, but i have wondered about whether we could increase this by having a submission system similar to the fanart gallery? that way users can find it on-site even if they forget to tag us! i love all of your suggestions!

i'm excited to hear more suggestions & get a feel for the kind of content you all want from us/the things you want to know! ^_^ i'm a fan of "day in the life" videos, so i definitely have a bit of a bias! i also think it could be nice to have a pinned highlights reel of just little one page introductions of staff that goes a little more in-depth than our staff bios do - each could be themed to be personal to that user & just let us all get to know each other better!

These are all things I've seen similar places do!

A news segment where things less obvious than CS events are talked about would be really cool! Written interviews with creators of big/popular things on CS like Chicoons, people working on community projects that they want to get out there a bit more, or even just new staff on their first day!

I'm intrigued by the thought of collabing with other pet sites. I personally don't know many but it'd definitely be something to look into.

The instagram itself is currently really only used for announcements and updates (They posted about the summer event quite a bit), but you're right, more frequent updates and announcements.

I'm REALLY bad for missing new staff announcement posts (Even though they're literally posted on the front page) so I rarely welcome new people. It would be cool to have it somewhere I'm more likely to see it to. And maybe even reposts of the mid month updates AND an end of month update, just to keep people more informed (And remind people about limited pets/items leaving the store)

I could see that kind of thing drawing in players who are more geared towards art even if they're not super familiar with pet sites. I do not have a TikTok so forgive me if I'm using the wrong terminology here but on platforms with short-form video content, isn't there usually an interactive social option on videos with certain audios called "remixing?" I bet editable oekaki could be compared to or hyped by bringing it up as a "remixable" art feature.

I will add that even the non artists benefit. I was just playing around with your friendship bracelet maker and that is incredible how well put together and accessible it is, and I agree. Absolutely an incredible part of the site to expand the reach of.

I would love to see some CS related reels! I've been trying to get my friends interested in CS but it's hard to explain what the site actually is rather than just a pet adopting site--I'd love to see someone explain that so I can send it to my IRL friends.

(Also, I freelance as a marketer and Reels have been such a blessing--it helps with reach so much)
