I've only read a few pages here and there while hunting for tokens, but I've seen a few very good suggestions.
Apologies if I'm talking about things already discussed.
I like the idea of a second free currency, as a reward for activity/visiting every day or for some simple mini games similar to those in events. Perhaps there could be a shop with already released free pets and items where we could spend those tokens. My dream would be a rotation with stuff you don't own, individual for each player, of course with prices according to age and rarity that would be the same for everyone. Making it personal for every player would avoid the frustration of always encountering things you are not interested in, as frequently happens with Dec18. Not saying the pets we get on that date are not valuable, but often they're not what we want. This would give newbies access to older stuff and veteran players something to work on long term.
I would maybe exclude event/special days goodies from this shop and limit it to monthly releases. That way not absolutely everything would be accesible if you were not here to play, sort of a middle ground.
An auction system, not in forums, but an actual auction house would be cool. As would raffles with daily log in tokens, or, even better, raffles with tickets you can buy with said tokens only when the prize interests you.

Of course, I realise this might be difficult to implement, but still wanted to throw it out there.

I also wanted to mention that I absolutely would hate if very rares/rares were more frequent in monthly releases. I rarely trade outside of monthly/event swaps anymore because it's too stressful. One of the things I like about CS is that I can relax. Swaps are fun and casual, but when an outcome gives me too much grief I don't enjoy it.
I know there are people that feel the opposite, that want a hard goal and enjoy the hunt. I think the points/tokens shop could give them that and I would also enjoy working patiently towards it, no rush. As it is currently, if I have to trade for a very rare outcome and hunt for it non stop, I don't feel accomplished, just tired and increasingly disinterested.

“What I hear is never the same.
A walk through the woods brings a light crackling song:
Leaves rustle in the wind, birds chatter and squirrels scold,
twigs crunch underfoot,
and the beat of my heart holds it all together.
When you join the flow,
the music is inside and outside,
and both are the same.
As long as I can listen to the moment,
I'll always have music.”

this is a really good idea!! thing is what kind of pets would it compensate? woudl those pets potentially be rare+?

That's an interesting idea, but I worry that people might just try to donate a lot of "fodder" pets to get free stuff... though maybe a cooldown would alleviate that... I like how many ideas everyone has been throwing out though :3 I'd add some of my own but I think everyones already thought of the same things as me!!!

Giant Squids are sweet, and i'm pretty sure that they have the real ultimate power. Cephalopods in general are pretty sweet, too.

I’m not sure but that gave me the idea of pound exclusive pets, maybe it could give c$ even? It could definitely help the pet economy even if it sounds a bit farfetched

ooohh c$ does sound good actually but like someone up in the thread said, there should be a cooldown/ limit to how many pets you can donate at a time

I'm not entirely sure that c$ would be the best bet, given that the c$ economy is so incredibly inflated. :0 exclusive pets could maybe work well, and maybe exclusive items?

I've been lurking here for a while but maybe a donation progress bar that you fill and only recieve a reward when it hits max and the fill amounts are balanced for pet rarity? So you'd need many many more fodder pets to make the progress of a rarer pet? Of course that mostly works if the pound system is revamped considering how full it is atm.

SarahFayeBear wrote:I suggest an auction house like Flight Rising has. That way the prices for pets can be in the hands of the people.

Example:
(Hypothetically) A VR pet from 2008 is valued at 10k chicken dollars.
Someone puts it up on the auction house for 10k.
Someone else then comes along and puts the same exact pet up for 9k.
Because with an auction house system undercutting is allowed.

Then maybe people could afford their dreamies!

Flight Rising also has two forms of currency. Treasure and gems. Perhaps something like that could be implemented as well.
Much like tokens at event time, maybe everyday tokens for people to collect?

A lot of people have been agreeing with this and I understand that this concept could be favorable for people, but this is a different game. Chicken smoothie already has a system for players to auction off pets and it works. Chicken smoothie is meant to be an idle game, adding an extra form of currency to increase user interactions defeats that purpose. The whole point of CS is to "Adopt Free Virtual Pets", adding another form of currency so you can buy more pets, whether that currency is free or not, still means you are buying something. Events are different in this case because that is the entire point of an event is to trade in these tokens for pets.
I feel that a lot of suggestions that have been given are things that have been taken from other pets sites that people enjoy, which I understand because if something works and you like it, it can be nice to see that in other places. Just because something works differently doesn't mean that it's bad, just a lot of suggestions don't actually fit with what CS is.
Chicken smoothie is a forum game and a pet site. I feel that a lot of users have outgrown CS and want it to change with them, but that doesn't need to be the case. Chicken Smoothie is a game the us as users can do what we want with within the capabilities of what the site allows. If there is a forum game you want to play, make one. If you want to roleplay, there is a wonderful place on the forums to do that. We have CS paint to do Oekaki, you can make UMAs. You can post a topic of discussion whenever you want. A lot of the issues that people have is with these are the restrictions that CS has on what you can post, but that is because it is very much a children's game still. You have to work within the parameters of the game you are playing.
I'm also not trying to be harsh or anything when saying any of this, I just think that Chicken Smoothie is Chicken Smoothie, not any other site. I'm of course not opposed to the site changing, it's really just when a large handful of suggestions seem to be making it a different site instead of just an improved one.

My concern would be the same, as people on this site have a tendancy to try to undercut and cheat the system, so it just doesnt seem like something that could be implimented and go well.

I do wanna share the idea of the pound giving "pound exclusives" like others said, but maybe something that is known to be very common/ common, and is just a series of pets that are like, little plushes or "pound" items/ themed stuff? then it has an incentive, but its known to be common, but also something alot of people will want for dressups and such maybe?

Check out my Trade Thread!

My Site Suggestion: 30k rares for your 1 rare
Talking about the +2 method, please give your input! ^^^

seeing as this thread has slowed down a bit now !
this is a doc that goes more in-depth about suggestions/issues to be fixed (tiredddd has also linked it several pages back)
using this spreadsheet (made by sweathie):
it would be nice if users with solutions could transfer (the bolded/yellow highlighted, most important issues to be resolved / suggestions) using the templates under each section, ofc filled out adequately (dm one of the people with access to have it added)
im hoping to use it as a sort of thing where staff (esp the admins) can see so there is no chance for miscommunication or rejection without reason, and it will also cut down plenty time for the staff to come up with solutions/implementations for these issues/suggestions

im gonna sleep in a bit now mimimimimimimimii
