lacuna, this will probably get buried in all the other replies, but i hope you know that the community here truly does appreciate you. i can’t even begin to imagine how many hours of your life you put into helping run this site, but seeing as you’re basically omnipresent in the forum (lol), it’s clearly a lot. i’m so sorry that people have bashed your communication style. for what it’s worth, i’ve never thought you were rude. i think your actions and your dedication to this community speak for themselves. i — and others, i’m sure — notice how much work you (and the other admin assistants!) do, and really appreciate it. and to my fellow cs users, we as a community have got to stop taking staff for granted. criticisms of the site are one thing, but it’s not okay to nitpick the way that people express themselves online.

I will be adding some points and such later to my original post, if anyone would like to do a Google dock, or something of that sort, they are free to, and it would be a big help

Thank you Lacuna, so much, for the response! It's really nice to know we're being heard. I think these answers you've given us are massively helpful.

I do still think there are other issues that haven't been addressed, however, namely ones brought up at the beginning of the thread like security and adding another coder. Personally, I would still like more transparency/announcements from higher staff in a place that's easy for users to see, similarly to the announcements on the front page - even if it's just a summary of your day. It wouldn't have to be every day, either, just whenever. I think it would help for players to feel more of a connection to staff.

This thread did pick up and go kind of off the rails pretty quickly though, hahah.

This is a really lovely idea! I don't think anyone would be opposed to new messages more frequently on the home page. People don't get pings or anything from it so it wouldn't be a bother to get updates more often and transparency is always key. Players really just want to be heard and acknowledged and a site wide announcement like on the home page even small is always a good way to keep a closer connection/community between the site runners and players.

I also want to reiterate most of us here aren't criticising things, but trying to bring suggestions to combat the issues surrounding CS. Because we care so much about the game and want to see it continued, we're suggesting ways to help us and other players continue to enjoy and return for a long time to come.

what is ninja trading?

ninja trading refers to the practice of older/experienced users sending a trade to newer/less experienced users that are significantly or drastically unfair to the less experienced user, occasionally with slightly misleading messages (that aren't outright lies), relying on the user's inexperience to get a high-value pet in exchange for a low-value pet.

an older player outright lying to a newer player would be against the rules thankfully, so someone couldn't say something like "your pet isn't worth very much and I know you're a newbie so do you wanna swap with me? I have this from your wishlist and your pet is on mine, so it would be a good trade for you"

but unfortunately, can say something like:
"I know you're a newbie so I'll swap with this one from your wishlist if you want"
