GOOOOOOOODmorning Everyone! Today we have quite the lineup, all 20 dogs looking very eager to get out on those dunes! With a first prize of a hand selected import Spitz, and second and third place event rosettes , I'm sure the mushers are too! In just a few moments that blank will fire and we can get this party started.

In the meantime, allow me to explain how this race works to those listening who are joining us for the first time! In this race there are three updates, the normally scheduled 'Svessen' has six. These updates include the initial starting placements of the teams, as well as one update on positioning each day of the race, so make sure to keep an eye out each day to see how your favorite teams are doing!

Oh, I'm getting word they are getting everyone lined up for the starting fire... The crowd has started to really liven up to cheer on their teams!





And they are off!! Fourth Planet Canine coming out BLAZING, Someone definitely ate their Wheaties this morning haha! Alpine Champions coming in a very close second, this is looking like it could be anyone's race, the middle of the pack is quite a jumble, I'll leave it to our official lineup checkers to identify that flurry of fur... oh no what's this?? Fawntura's Gerelt must've forgotten to hit the outhouse before the race! After a brief intermission they are back in the game!

And here they come for their first check in! luckily everyone has made it back in, lets see the lineup.

In first we have Wild Hunt. In second comes Alpine Champions and, Fourth Planet Canines follows behind taking third place!
It seems Wild Hunt’s team had a burst of energy during this leg of the race, and has pulled up into first position! The rest of the pack has shuffled a bit but is holding steady, but it seems Fawntura’s team is having trouble making up for their rough start.

And here they come for their second check in! luckily everyone has made it back in, lets see the lineup.

In first we have Alpine Champions. In second comes Wild Hunt and, BONES follows behind taking third place!
It seems like Alpine Champions had found an energy bar along the way as they burst ahead with a lot off energy, adding distance between them and the second place who is running steady the same place. Fourth Planet Canines had to take a short stop as it was suspected one of their dogs stepped on a Clam. Luckily, the Dog was fine and they mush on, losing valuable time and place though. Honey Wolfe started to mush their Dogs through shallow water and they seem to enjoy it, increasing their speed! Llomas Dogs seem to tire out a bit, falling behind Lodgepole who also surpassed Fourth Planet Canines when they were checking their Dog. Lastly, Fawnturas Musher still trys to make up for his *erm* private time earlier.

This was an amazing first race, and what a fantastic turnout of teams. No doubt these trails need some maintenance but let these teams go down in Spitz history as trailblazers of our sledding program!
