they DID know i was hacked, because they deleted every post the hacker had made on my account before i even knew about it. they also reversed the trades made by the hacker, so they were definitely aware, just waiting for me to figure it out on my own. i stated this in my original post.

You misunderstood or misinterpreted it. Vicasterology said staff knew and "fixed" it e.g. deleting all posts the hacker made when they were in the account, etc. but never once informed the actual owner of the account.

werent there mod changes in may? poor guys are new give em some slack dgboufnd besides deleting malicious posts is their job so they did it, it dosnt mean they know everything thats happening. you were able to get accesss to your account again too
i think cs users are putting a bit too much responsibilty on staff for this, having a comprimised account sucks, it does, but i dont think the staff are really being too absurd about howre theyre handling it. i think cs users are making this thing a huger deal than it is or needs to be

that's great for him, don't really see what that has to do with the point i was making lol. my point is that if CS staff knew which accounts were hacked (maybe not all of them but they definitely knew about mine) and the hackers were mainly targetting inactive accounts, there is absolutely zero reason for them not to inform the users who were hacked if they knew about it. the damage on my account had already been reversed by staff before i had even gotten the chance to log in. was a simple informative email too much to ask?

also weren't you the one where the response you got was "yeah you got hacked twice" or was that a different unlucky user? because not notifying a user that got hacked just once, but TWICE, isn't at ANY level acceptable. "the mods are just new and busy with more important things than talking to you for thirty seconds" no, that is NOT acceptable.
After 11 years of seeking, I finally obtained my all-time dream on October 1, 2020 ;w;

yup that was also me lol

i'll give them the benefit of the doubt about the first hacking back in may because i don't know how it works behind the scenes, so they may not have known about it until i asked them to look into what was going on with my account after the second hacking.

but given the fact that after i was hacked in july every single post the the hacker had made was already deleted by the time i first logged in and before i submitted my help ticket, and i did not receive a board warning for these posts nor were anyone else's posts on the thread made on my account deleted so staff definitely knew it was not me on my account as they reversed my trades as well.

@Icarus
No offense but you seem to be missing the main points all the way around. The main point is that there was no communication.
Also,
1. Mods don't handle that stuff. It's really only Admins that do the bigger things like that, and sometimes Admin Assistants that well, assist.
2. Nick being the only coder is not/should not be an excuse. He could've at the very least passed it along to someone that could have told vicasterology when he logged back in, or sent a PM so that he could see when they got back to the site.

Obviously everyone has a life outside of the site.
But that's just a bad excuse in this case. Everyone has lives outside of their job, so if they show up 2 hours late to a very important event/meeting, is that ok? No. Call out for a family emergency, call out sick, or quit the job if you can't do the work.
You call in to your job to let people know that you won't be able to be there. There needs to be communication. That's why 2-week notices are a thing. The establishment needs time to find a new hire to take your place.
But in this case, that hasn't been happening. There are no notices, no updates [at least there have been 0 unprompted ones. We asked, so they made the announcements. Otherwise, nothing would've been said/done on the larger scale to help the userbase.]
If you can't balance life and work, it's best to give up whatever job is causing you trouble. If they can't keep up with the site, they need to hire more coders/specific staff so that there is less stress on one/few individuals. [Now there is a suggestion thread somewhere for this that I have already expressed my support on.]

Try and be open minded, the users affected aren't making this up or blowing things out of proportion. This has been going on for years, even since BEFORE I joined in '19. That's 4 going on 5 years. In 2020, an admin made a statement saying that they were going to try better as staff to communicate. Clearly that never quite happened as we are here again in 2023 asking for the SAME things again.
YES, being CS staff is a volunteer job.
NO, that doesn't excuse lack of communication. If you aren't able to do something as basic as communication, you should step down. [This is my opinion. /nay /nbr /nbh]

Nothing rude at all is intended in this message. This is not at anyone, as stated above. It's a general statement.

@viscasterology
exactly what I mean, they clearly knew that it was not *you* yet gave no thought into letting you know. It's really unprofessional [as staff/admins of this site] that they didn't take initiative and tell you without having to be asked, and it still shocks me lol.
Any other site would've given an email or an on-site notification of SOME sort.

i think you might be right about me maybe misunderstanding some things, thats my bad, sometimes when i read paragraphs my eyes sometimes skip lines so it makes sense if im getting some stuff wrong/not understanding some of the points your making, ill try an be a bit better about it and thanks for taking time to try and help me understanf where you guys coming from
i think im also having a bit of diffculty like articulating what i mean by some stuff like having trouble wording it in a way that makes sense, im not doing a good job explaining/im fumbling my points a bit

theres more i wanna say and a point i have aboout the communication thing too but im having a really hard time wording stuff atm

also, i speak really matter of fact sometimes too i hope i havent come off rude either, its not my intention

I didn't even know there WAS an issue, and I'm on here basically every day. I saw posts on the front page, but they were just vague and confusing to me. They don't say anything specific happened, and I didn't know something DID happen until I chose to hop on the suggestions forum.

This is NOT OKAY. I've been here since 2011 and spent money here. I'm on here every day and I had ZERO IDEA something had actually happened.

I had issues with staff transparency with the artist compensation issue that happened when they hired more artists, and I have major issues with this now.

Yes, it's not CS's fault accounts were breached. But the fact that you won't just help the users out with C$ balances is not good. First, you say it's too small of a user group to make an announcement, but it's too many people to just reimburse their C$. Which is it? It can't be both too many and too few.
