When the massive animal crashed by through the brush, Smokefeather was glad he’d close to a tree and easily avoided its path of travel. He carefully watched it run off, wondering what such a huge thing could possibly be scared of. Dogs maybe? The patrol quickly focused on the next topic, Feverpaw was hurt. Everyone swarmed so quickly, there hardly any time for him to catch a glance or get a word in. His dead dropped below shoulder height, waiting silently as the patrol sorted itself out. It wasn’t a long wait though, as Dragonstar seemed confident and ready to lead the patrol further. “I’m ready when the others are.” Concern was stuck to his face like feathers, but there was nothing he could do.

He’d hardly gotten his claws into a tree before his ears pricked at Fogpaw’s words. It was a fairly large patrol, so he took the extra second to finish before padding over to see the loner he’d found. “It’s just a loner, an empty pawed one at that.” Without a dead piece of prey at his paws, there was no evidence to start a fight. As amusing as it would be to chase him off yowling, it would be a bit unreasonable for a warrior. “Long as he refrains from hunting within our boarders, I don’t care who he is.” He mews, watching the apprentices approach him, but standing behind them a small ways. Ideally, he wanted to avoid more social pressure than he already had…

Spiritfeather listened as Dragonstar explained. "Oh - that's the thing TranquilClan's leader is named after? I guess it's fitting, he's such a big cat..." Spiritfeather's attention turned back to Spindle. "Do you need to go back to camp?" She questioned him, her voice laced with concern. "I'm sure Dragonstar wouldn't mind! Bettlewood can take care of that cut. We wouldn't want to see it infected!" More than anything, Spiritfeather wanted to tend to the tom's wound. It was almost unbearable; keeping the secret that she could heal any wound.

Foxcloud touched her nose to the black apprentice's head as she bounded up to her. She led her apprentice into the undergrowth, heading away from the patrol. "The rain is going to make it hard to hunt at all," she murmured to Jackdawpaw. "But I bet you can still catch something! Every good warrior has to know how to scent prey in the rain, and make a clean catch even if the ground beneath your paws is slick. Now - what can you scent?" Foxcloud opened her jaws as well, tasting the air, hoping to verify what her apprentice said.

"Yeah! This is WildClan land, Cloud!" Fogpaw announced, his pelt bushing up - though not very effectively in the heavy rain. "Where did you catch that rabbit? If you caught it on our land, that's stealing, and we'll have to fight you!" Despite the hostile words, Fogpaw was nervous. He peered over his shoulder, relieved to see Wrenfoot nearby. He beckoned the warrior closer with hi tail, hoping the number of cats would intimidate Cloud.

Herbpaw had only just finished burying his prey when rustling branches caught his attention. The rain did make it hard to see, but the tom was thrilled to see a finch fluttering towards him. It landed on a low branch, almost just above his head. Okay. I've got this. The tom told himself as he crouched low to the wet ground. He crept towards the tree, sinking his paws into the bark. He lowly began to scale it, and to his horror, the finch took off, though he was quickly relieved when it landed on the branch just above the one he'd been on. Herbpaw made his way to the branch the bird had been on a moment ago. He silently crept as close as he could get. Then, rearing up on his hind paws, he struck the bird with a swift paw, causing it to flutter to the ground, a wing injured - unfortunately, Herbpaw also fell to the ground, losing his footing. Thankfully, the branches he and the bird had been using were low to the ground, so Herbpaw was only left with a mild ache as he got to his paws. The bird, unable to fly, had attempted to flee, but Herbpaw quickly caught it and delivered a swift death. I'm so close! the tom thought to himself as he began to bury the finch beside his other catch. Two more pieces of prey, and then...then I'll get to be a warrior!

She left the patrol to do her own solo hunt, trying to locate any prey nearby or somewhere further that she could smell. Though the rain made it impossible to smell or find anything at all, almost like the rain was already washed everyone out of this forest. She didn't want to give up so she walked forward toward the little caves there where sometimes found some mice.

She gave her apprentice a look when he mentioned fighting him, she didn't like trespassers either, but fighting them could be the last choice to make. Thought she needed to blink her eyes when the loner answered her apprentice 'Picking a fight with him is a bad idea? who does he think he is?' she thought to herself with a sight.

It took him a little time to calm down from the jumpscare he just had because of the moose, he took a deep sight when Dragonstar comforted him "A Fright? I almost got a heart attack" he meowed feeling a little awkward about the situation 'I am not that young anymore...' he thought to himself as he looked to his apprentice. He sighed once again when the leader asked him to take his apprentice back to see the medicine cat at the camp, he really didn't want to leave the toms side, but he knew that Feverpaw was still even as an adult his apprentice and his task was to make sure he goes to the medicine cat "Yes, fine I will take him back..." he meowed to him silently turning to his apprentice "come on Feverpaw, we're going back to the camp" he said to him.

She had no idea that the relationship between Jackdawnpaw and Southwind could be that bad. She looked back to her mentor "I guess so..." she meowed to her as a response.

He watched and looked at the cats of the patrol, his ears flicking in curiousness, confusion, and annoyance as he didn't get at all what everyone was talking about. He did smell the weird scent too, but he didn't take it seriously at all, he was even going to respond to his mentor that the smell is probably just farting skunk, but didn't have time to say anything when the large animal run past them almost trampled him under his feet "what the...where did that come from?" he yowled in surprise yet little panic. He has not seen anything like that before, he only heard stories about those who were seen them.

Purpleflower listens to Pyrefire answer her question about Iciclepaw's assessment progress before looking up to see Pumpkinspirit and Hollypaw approach to ask Pyrefire if he and Iciclepaw would like to train together, even offering the queen to join them. "That sounds like a great idea!" she said. "I think I'd like to watch!" She quickly finishes her fish and gets up, stretching her hind legs.

I would scatter before they send a patrol and find you, though!" They shook their head. There was no reason to start a needless fight, even if Cloud's words made something in them stir. Some wild cat that wanted to chase him off of their border and far beyond. Wrenfoot didn't seem too worried, though, and they'd rather take cues from their mentor. They left Fogpaw's side and rejoined near Wrenfoot.

She took a long look at the rain pouring outside before deciding to head out into it. She looked around camp, assessing her surroundings. There weren't many cats around, most had gone on patrol. She headed over to the fresh-kill pile and nosed around for something worth eating. The world's soggiest vole proved worthwhile. She grabbed it and wrung it out as much as she could, before finding a spot out of the rain to eat. She decided she'd go bother the elders next.

He did his best to suffer in silence, bellyaching about the pain wouldn't do anyone any good. By Starclan, did it hurt! It was like his tail was on fire, and once it reached a certain point, he didn't feel it at all. He wondered what a medicine cat did for a broken tail, anyway. Maybe he'd gnaw it off.

It was an awfully rainy day. She'd always thought of rain as Starclan's tears. She wondered why they were weeping so heavy this morning. Surely it was an omen of something to come. It was a day worth staying in for, and so he did. Longtail set to grooming himself as he listened to the rain fall just outside the elder's den. He'd heard the patrols called and some conversations being held. It was nice to know that even when the world seemed upside down, the clan continued on. What she'd give to be a part of that still. It wasn't a secret that Longtail had taken her retirement hard. She'd basically been forced into the elder ceremony. She'd served her clan for years as a blind cat, she didn't understand why now she suddenly wasn't good enough to continue on. Sure, her joints were slowing her down a bit, but she could scrap with the best of them!

But when your leader and medicine cat said it was time to retire, maybe it was. Beetlewood had even cited a sign from Starclan that it was time, and that was what had done her in. If Starclan themselves wanted her to rest, she would. She wondered which bright eyed, bushy tailed apprentice would bring her a meal today.

Beetlewood flicked his tail as a way to say goodbye to Ladybirdflutter, taking a deep breath once his den was empty. He pawed at the bundle of herbs, taking in the scent of them. Rosepool. . . Oh how he missed his mentor. She was an old hag, but he adored her. Rosepool was like a second mother to him, and having been sent a sign that was seemingly from her about who to chose as his apprentice made him miss her even more, however, it was clear as day to him as to who he was to make his apprentice, though he didn't know if anyone would be happy about it. . . Herbpaw was so close to getting his warrior name, and Magpieflight had worked so hard to train him properly, it would be a shame to take that away from both of them. He sighed, conflicted on the idea of making Herbpaw his apprentice. On one paw it was Starclan's will, Herbpaw was destined to be a medicine cat, but on the other paw, was it fair to force him in to the position, especially if he didn't want it? But was it for Beetlewood to decide if Herbpaw even has a choice? As a medicine cat, he was supposed to trust in Starclan's choice, trust them to make the right choice for him and guide him to the answer, and they had indeed guided him to Herbpaw. It was a predicament for sure, one challenging his faith in Starclan and will to follow them, and his own desire to let his clan-mates chose their destinies and place in the clan.

Poppywisp balked as the large creature, a moose, stormed past them. Poppywisp immediately stood in front of Charmingpaw, protecting the tom from the moose. After it had gotten past the patrol, she let out a deep sigh, her fur still standing on end and her eyes wide as saucers. "We're ok." She mewed to Dragonstar, putting her attention back on to Charmingpaw, she licked his head in an attempt to comfort him, wrapping her tail around him. "That was a moose, they aren't seen very often, that was a rare, and dangerous sight. That creature is what Moosestar is named after." She explained, keeping her voice from faltering. Her fear was slowly going away, and her fur flattened. She nodded when Dragonstar said they'd continue on to Sunning Rocks, glancing back as Ravenscream and Feverpaw headed back to camp. It was for the best that the two go back, especially because of Feverpaw's broken tail. She silently wondered how Beetlewood would take care of it, it seemed to her that perhaps the only way to fix it was to cut the tail off. The red molly quickly switched her attention back to the patrol, "If you're ok, Charmingpaw, we'll keep going, ok?" She mewed, giving the apprentices a soft touch with her tail before she trotted after Dragonstar. "That was quite a surprise, are you doing ok?" She mewed, giving him a worried look. He always tried to be strong for the whole clan, and Poppywisp was worried that he was hiding how he really felt about that moose.

Starlingpaw grinned, nodding her head. She was definitely going to ask Magpieflight to help her, and she hoped that he would say yes. But Kestrelclaw taking her out with Jackdawpaw and Foxcloud sounded good too. "I've got it! I'll make sure no danger will come to the patrol!" She mewed, puffing her chest out in pride. She perked her ears, focusing on trying to listen to the sounds beyond the rain. At first she heard nothing, but soon she began hearing the soft rustle of the leaves, and the paw steps of the other cats on the patrol. Then she opened her mouth, letting the scents of the forest wash over her, however she couldn't smell anything other than the rain. She huffed in frustration, shaking her head furiously before trying again, but the outcome was the same.

Joel wandered the outskirts of Wildclan territory, trying to stay in the under brush where it was dryer. The tom was looking for something to eat, his stomach growling from hunger. He hadn't eaten since the other afternoon because of this rain, and he wasn't about to wait any longer for a piece of prey, even if it meant straying onto clan territory. The grey tom moved silently through the under-brush, ears pricked for any sound of prey, or the clan cats that might be lurking around also hunting for their breakfast.

Jaxton had hunkered down under a large bush, pressing himself against the ground in an attempt to keep dry. The only problem was that his belly kept growling with hunger. He flicked his ears a little bit "Yes, I want you to use all your skills there, as this will be a good chance for your battle assessment as long Hollypaw or Pumpkinspirit is fine about that. About a battle training?" He meowed to them and looked at Hollypaw "So how is your training so far Hollypaw?" he asked her to make sure if she was enough for his apprentice.

He made his way back to the camp, his eyes peeking behind him once or twice as he walked making sure the apprentice was coming too. Feverpaw had his tail broken which could be painful, but at least it didn't bother his walking as long the tail somehow didn't touch the uneven terrain and the camp was close by, which made him wonder what if the moose did come by run a little bit earlier, which could make it run past their camp. He didn't even think of that before now, but as it didn't happen and as much he know about those large vegetarians they could not likely turn back. He saw the camp entrance and then looked back to Feverpaw "You okay there Feverpaw? We're in camp soon, hopefully, Beetlewood is still at the camp" he meowed as he made his way through the entrance to the camp "Beetlewood...you have a patient" he meowed as he saw the medicine cat there on his own thought it seemed.

She did try to scent the air a little bit more, scenting the wet grass, leaves, and the weird scent of the trees around "No I don't scent the rabbit anymore..." she meowed flattering her ears as she felt like she failed.

He watched his clan ates seeing some of the warriors having bleeding wounds, but not that deep, unlike Feverpaw who's whose tail seemed to be broken "Beetlewood needs to have superpowers if he is going to fully fix that" he murmured as he watched the mentor, apprentice duo leaving the patrol. He looked over to his mentor once again as she told him about their rival clan's leader's name "Hmm, cool as long he is not that monstrous as the real one is" he meowed to her then looked at Dragonstar who was going to continue the patrol to the sunning rocks "yeah, I am fine..." he meowed to her as he looked at Spindle "you seriously going to continue with the patrol? that wound is not a kit cut" he meowed to the Spindle.
