personality : Cardinalheart has never been the type to show his emotions. Reserved, oftentimes cold, and stoic, Cardinalheart is a cat who doesn't seem to have a heart. While he isn't cruel and won't raise his voice, he isn't the type to speak gently and kindly. At most, he's a stern cat, but he's typically just indifferent. Oftentimes talking to him is like talking to a wall; He will listen, but don't count on him to respond. When he does respond, he can often be insensitive, because he genuinely just says the first thing that comes to his mind after considering if the conversation is worth having. But like any cat, Cardinalheart does feel, just significantly less than others. To him, his own emotions are the least important. Emotional outbursts, love, or anything of the sort are just useless distractions. His duty is not to himself, but to his clan. And although he rarely shows it, the only things he hates are cats who are lazy, and cats who are traitors to their clan. But for his clanmates, even the ones he deems lazy, he would scale a cliff or dive into the river without a second thought. He would always put his clanmates needs above his own in such situations. His suffix stands for his heart as a warrior, rather than as a cat.

history : From kithood, Cardinalheart has always been obsessed with his clan. Born in a litter of two, Cardinalheart grew up exceptionally close with his littermate, Robinbelly. As a kit Cardinalheart would lead fake patrols around the camp, and Robinbelly would follow. Their parents instilled in them from a young age that their clan came first. Cardinalheart took this to heart, and it became what he lived by. Robinbelly, on the other hand, was much more relaxed. Once they became apprentices, Cardinalheart put his all into his training and neglected his relationships, while Robinbelly focused on friendships and frequently fell behind. When Robinbelly fell behind, Cardinalheart supported him, and with his help they managed to become warriors at the same time. Cardinalheart's warrior life was average, him being the same, loyal cat he's always been. The same could not be said for his brother, who confided in Cardinalheart that he had fallen in love with an outsider. Cardinalheart struggled to accept it. He just hoped that his brother would come to his senses and break it off before anything happened. Unfortunately, Robinbelly did no such thing, and a few moons later came to Cardinalheart and confessed that his mate had given birth to a litter of kits, and he wanted Cardinalheart to help him leave the clan to be with them. Cardinalheart not only refused, but went straight to the leader, betraying his brother's trust. After being confronted, Robinbelly tried to save his mate, who was adamant that the kits not join the clan, but the she-cat was eventually killed over it. Cardinalheart's relationship with his brother was now incredibly strained. Robinbelly passed away only a few moons after his mate's death, leaving behind two kits. Cardinalheart felt guilty for some time, but always thought it was necessary. Over twenty moons have passed since then, and Cardinalheart still tries to have a relationship with his niece and nephew despite what happened.

personality : To his clanmates, Stagspring is friendly and kind, being peppy, energetic, and encouraging. He's a patient teacher who is supportive to his students. He doesn't enjoy conflict, and becomes dismissive rather than argumentative when challenged. He's very firmly set in his beliefs, which are close-minded, and won't accept conflicting beliefs as valid. It doesn't come up often, but when it does he will push his beliefs onto others. A sensitive cat, he is much quicker to sadness than anger. His feelings get hurt easily, but he perks back up just as fast.

history : Stagspring was born Stagkit, named after his brown fur and because he was the largest of his litter at birth. Funnily enough, he not only ended up a small cat in general, but is tiny compared to his brothers. He's a little insecure about it, but other than that his history is average. personality : Windpaw is level-headed, not being quick to jump into things, and thoughtful. She tends to question things, and has an open mind. Despite her open mind, and her playful behavior, she doesn't like getting up to mischief and prefers not to be included in such things. That doesn't mean she won't encourage it for a laugh, though she claims that's not being involved.
While she may not look it, but Windpaw is a deeply ambitious cat with big dreams. If it benefited her enough, she would act opportunistically even considering the consequences. She's not very confrontational either, and won't stop to mend relationships that would become strained. But with those she is currently close to, she's affectionate and loving, and there are some relationships she values enough to consider fixing if they fell apart.

kitten ➥ things were highly expected of applekit as soon as she was born. she was born to two senior warriors, their first and only kitten for this litter. they were quick to ensure that their daughter would be amazing, the ideal warrior. this was difficult on the young kitten, who barely had a grasp on the world. all she came to knew was that if she was strong and showed excellence, her parents would give her the attention she wanted.
apprentice ➥ when given sunstripe as her mentor, her parents seemed a bit displeased. applepaw paid no mind, he was a young cat still and could perhaps teach her things that would make her parents proud. she sought to listen as much as possible, even insisting on extra training. she understood it was a lot to ask for, but it was what would give her more of her parent's love. she grew close to another molly, birchpaw. the tabby was naturally smarter than her, and had a lithe figure. she was perfect, without the pressure to be there. applepaw felt intense envy, and felt the need to sabotage her. birchpaw caught on quick, and talked applepaw down to a degree. she insisted the two could train together, and better each other. this was a suitable compromise, and gave applepaw room to make friends. this displeased her parents, who felt a friend would ruin her chances of a bright future. this didn't seem to be the case, as applepaw really blossomed into a competent and strong warrior. birchpaw was a tad older, and earned her named birch-heart for her kindness. around this time, birch-heart introduced her brother, tanglewood, to applepaw. the assumption was that applepaw would be pining over tanglewood, and birch-heart could feel they would be sisters. however, applepaw had developed a deep crush for birch-heart herself, and saw tanglewood as a simple friend.
adult ➥ applebloom received her warrior name a few moons after birch-heart, in which she immediately made moves to put her nest in between her and tanglewood. they were her two friends, and her deepest love. she had essentially distanced herself from her parents, who were deeply obsessed with their new young kits. though, applebloom noticed they didn't pressure the young kits to be the best anymore, and she became... upset. they had put so much on her to be the best, but no longer expected it from their other kits? she became angry, and dedicated herself to be as best as she could, if for birch-heart alone. as her parents began to coddle her new younger siblings, before retiring once they hit apprenticeship, applebloom confessed her love to birch-heart. the molly was flattered, and the two became mates. much to her surprise, tanglewood offered to help them have kits as well. and there it was, applebloom was carrying a litter of kittens. it became a bittersweet thought though, as tanglewood passed shortly after. birch-heart seemed inconsolable by this loss of her brother, though she remained optimistic because of their incoming kittens. when orchardkit was born alone, the two cherished their son. however, the family was torn apart, as birch-heart also fell to the grasp of death. this was when orchardkit could remember her, which became a sad thought. applebloom felt... bitter. was her mate not... strong enough? no, it had to be... something else. immediately she began to pressure orchardkit to be stronger and better -- to make up for the loss of her mate. this was all to keep her afloat, the idea of her family being perfect. this pushed her kitten away, saying he missed his better mother. this became their life now -- applebloom expecting better of orchardpaw, and them pushing back.

kitten ➥ orchardkit's first memory is that of their mothers both looking upon them in wonder. the kitten felt immense love, especially from birch-heart. they loved their non-bio mom, considering her their real mother as applebloom became a bit passive in their life. once birch-heart passed, however, things became rocky. applebloom became known again, pressuring her kitten to perfection so early. orchardkit pushed back heavily, not enjoying the immense pressure she put upon them. they cried they wanted their real mother back, knowing it broke applebloom apart despite being their true feelings.

kitten ➥ magnoliakit was a blessing, to a degree. blossompelt had fertility issues all her life, and had resigned herself to never having kits, but then she suddenly had magnoliakit. she was completely unaware she was pregnant at the time, much less who the father was, as she hadn't had a mate a moons. with the tom's fur color coming through, it was obvious it was ferntail, a short rebound she had after the passing of her mate. the young kit was loved greatly, though his father was out of the picture, as he had left the clan. the kitten didn't mind, being spoiled by his mother, and not caring for much else.
apprentice ➥ apprenticeship wasn't much sweat for magnoliapaw. he was a bit of a wanderer, so if his mentor took his eyes off of him for too long, he would be off chasing butterflies. this was a bit frustrating, but magnoliapaw was oblivious. they would still visit their mother, who had retired when he was apprenticed. he found this comforting, not having to worry about her all too much as she was resting and enjoying the rest of her life. this gave him time to focus on training - er, or help with that. the little cat was a bit preoccupied with the imaginations in his mind, and therefore took longer to train. his mentor needed assistance to get magnoliapaw to focus, and therefore would get others to bring their apprentices to help him focus. this seemed to work, as magnoliapaw wished to be liked by their peers, so focused better.
adult ➥ magnoliaspring was made a warrior later than most, at 14 moons. at this point, his mother had passed to old age, and though he feels grief, he feels like he no longer will worry her.

𖠰▸History (Optional): Nightstalker always wanted to be deputy, especially Vulturestar's. He idolized the ruthless leader, and besides, he had always wanted to be in a position of power. What better position could there be than the she-cat's second-in-command? But he wasn't Vulturestar's first choice, or even her second, or her third. Her first deputy, Windflight, was, frankly, weak. Nightstalker made quick work of him when they went out on patrol together one night, not only killing him, but mauling him beyond recognition so that he looked as if he were attacked by something much larger than a cat. They had been patrolling the eastern side of the territory by the Twoleg dens, and some Twolegs had been staying there with their dogs, whose foul stench was in the area anyway; Nightstalker simply claimed that a dog had mauled Windflight to death. After that, Tigerblaze was chosen as deputy, a harsh, strong warrior who could strike fear into the hearts of others just by looking at them, and could beat nearly any cat in battle. Any cat, that is, but not any animal. Nightstalker knew he stood no chance in one-on-one combat against the powerful tom, and so he lured the same dogs that he had blamed the death of Windflight on directly to Tigerblaze, killing him easily. Although Nightstalker knew the dogs were only responsible for one deputy's death, the Clan believed they were responsible for two, and so patrols began to avoid that area until the Twolegs left with their dogs. Vulturestar's third deputy was a she-cat named Willowbark, but before Nightstalker could take action against her, she took care of herself. Disgusted with Vulturestar for poisoning Mushroomdapple's kits, kits that were sacred to ValleyClan, Willowbark left of her own accord and was never seen again. Finally, finally Nightstalker was made deputy. His hard work had paid off, he had achieved the beginning of his life-long dream. Well, one of his dreams anyway. Now, he just needed to make Vulturestar his mate. He was sure she would agree to it. Only...she didn't. On the contrary, she seemed to want nothing to do with him on a personal level. This outraged Nightstalker, and though he tried and tried to win her heart, he was unable to. Finally, just two days ago, he killed Vulturestar in her own den while she was sleeping. Although he didn't come right out and said he had done it, every cat knew the truth, and he didn't even make an effort to conceal it. What did it matter? He was leader now. No cat could question him, for the leader's word was law, and no cat would ever deny him what he wanted ever again. Now, only two days after Vulturestar's death, Nightstar his big plans for ValleyClan...
𖠰▸Personality Traits (Optional): Nightstar is incredibly selfish and ambitious. He has no regard for others, and seeks only to serve himself and get what he wants. What does he want? Power, attention, glory...Only what he deserves! And he's willing to use whatever means necessary to get it. He has an unsettling air around him, and words that would sound promising out of any other cat's mouth tend to sound threatening out of his. Despite this, he does seem to have a way with words, a way that can either manipulate others into doing exactly what he wants, or scare them into it.

𖠰▸History (Optional): Bluefire had always been a passionate, fiery warrior with a heart of gold, but the fire in her heart went out the day that her brother and the Clan's deputy, Tigerblaze, was mauled to death by a group of dogs that got away from their Twolegs. She and her brother had never been particularly close, as they had both always been focused on their duties, but they still cared for one another even if they didn't often say it, and Bluefire was absolutely devastated at his death. But while the majority of her Clanmates seemed to accept it as some terrible accident, Bluefire had her suspicions. The dogs had wandered farther than usual into ValleyClan territory, as if lured by something, and when Bluefire tracked their scent back to their Twoleg's den, she found that Nightstalker's scent was mixed in with it--even beyond the border. And then there was the fact that the previous deputy, Windflight, had supposedly been killed by these same dogs, yet his injuries had been...different. Almost too...intentional. Everything pointed to Nightstalker, but when Bluefire so much as implied that he had something to do with the deaths of the two deputies, she was simply told that she was going mad with grief, becoming paranoid, or trying to find somebody to blame for her brother's death. So although her suspicions never wavered, she kept quiet, thinking nobody would believe her or that, worse, she'd be punished. But when Nightstalker was chosen to replace Vulturestar's third deputy, Willowbark, and the leader was found dead in her den only a moon later, very obviously killed...Bluefire knew there was no denying the truth any longer. Although she doesn't grieve over Vulturestar, she's furious that Nightstalker, now Nightstar, has gotten away with so much and is now leader of the Clan. Her hunger for justice has only grown stronger, and she vows that one day, she will avenge Tigerblaze and make his murderer pay.
𖠰▸Personality Traits (Optional): Bluefire has a strong sense of right and wrong and a hunger for justice that cannot be tempered until satisfied. She has always been a very passionate cat, but whereas she used to put her passion into serving her Clan as the best warrior she could be, now she lets it fuel her desire for revenge. She's not afraid to let her emotions show, but despite what some may think, she doesn't let them take control or stop her from thinking rationally. She's very intuitive, and trusts her feelings more than any cat.

Albinoleap was born and raised in valleyclan, she was the eldest daughter of stormstrike and dandelionshade. She had a brother named Hawkfang who she was really close to and he passed a few moons ago, she still mourns him today. Albinoleap had a good kithood and she has made a promise to be the best warrior she can be.

all accepted, happy to see you guys! i'll let everyone know when i get the front updated so everyone can check over their characters and make sure i didn't mess up.

nightstar will be choosing his deputy in the beginning of the roleplay, so if there are any cats you don't want considered, please say so! otherwise, cradily will be picking a cat from the warriors that nightstar would realistically choose to be his deputy. even if you already have a high rank (med and med app) your warrior could still be chosen if it makes the most sense! the decision is entirely in nightstar's paws, i'm leaving it all up to cradily.

Mentors have been assigned:

redhaze > windpaw
houndfang > wrenpaw
fennelfrost > orchardpaw
cedarwhisker > heatherpaw
kindlecloud > turtlepaw (obviously lol)

very soon, i'll be pming everyone about the plot. every roleplayer in valleyclan will be part of it! also, just a reminder since we're close to starting now that nightstar is finished: valleyclan does not believe in starclan. your characters acknowledging starclan is a violation of valleyclan's warrior code and there will be consequences for cats caught discussing the matter. so much time has passed since crowstar was driven from the clan that most young warriors/kits/apprentices alive today would never even have heard of starclan, outside of the rule in the warrior code, as it isn't something that any cat can talk about without fear of punishment.

@soft - your cats are also accepted, i know you've just got the basics, but if anything needs changed after you write them out i'll just pm you about it. c:

So all of my characters are open for relationships such as crushes!
If anyone wants to play Dovespeckle's father(she doesn't know him currently), they're welcome to it! It might be fun to have that play out, if Cas is okay with it. We could figure out more details through pm if anyone is interested? Dovespeckle looks like her mother so her father can have any appearance.
