I love how prominent his phantom markings are. I'm sure you're doing fabulous with him even with that learning curve, I know the grooming is just as much a learning thing for me since I plan to show.

Oh wow I would’ve guessed her to be a bit older, she looks so big! And her conformation looks lovely. I wish you both good luck in the ring whenever you start showing!
Same! His sisters also have very lovely phantom markings, but they’re both black phantoms like your girl. I hope he stays dark but I know it’s pretty common for the dogs in his line to clear, though a few from the previous litter stayed nice and dark.

Her siblings ranged in different shades for their phantom markings. Hopefully he stays dark for you. i love a good brown. Dulcera is honestly more hair than dog, it’s about 2+ inches in length so she looks a ton bigger than she is. showing in novice puppy got postponed for us since she somehow got parvo despite being fully vaccinated and we don’t frequent dog heavy areas. two days at my job and she’s already back to 100% like nothing happened. her clinical signs were next to none beyond some nausea.

So jealous of y'alls poodles! Phantom is my favourite coat on them. Awesome that Dulcera's parvo was minimal, that's always so very scary.

Does anyone have a favourite trick they've taught their dog? I've had some downtime recently and am having fun teaching Bailey tricks. Nothing insane right now, we've just got sit, stay, and paw. I can't figure out how to teach her down, but I've never really taught a dog before so I'm happy with what I've got squeezed out of her little brain so far.

Hi!! I just discover this thread and I’m super happy I did!!

I am a dog mom of 2! I work full time at a dog daycare (and have for almost 4 years now) and also do dog training! My world literally revolves around dogs. My PMs are always open for any dog questions or conversations!!

Has anyone noticed how like toxic the dog community is online? Idk if anyone else has been stuck on the side of dog community tiktok where everyone is just fighting all the time but I've been stuck there for well over 2 years now and it's just been getting worse💀😭. It's so frustrating, like a lot of the things being argued about (ethical breeding, training, diet, ect) are important and deserve to have conversations around them HOWEVER instead it seems the community would just rather call each other bad owners and abusive rather than actually listen and work on the problems that the other side is bringing up. At this point after seeing like 10+ videos everyday with all this fighting and accusing I've lost a lot of interest in the dog community, like I was planning to get my next dog from a breeder rather than a rescue this time and more actively participate in sports with my future dog but after seeing how the community interacts has made me really lose that passion at the thought of having to interact with ppl like that irl (ofc I know theres many great ppl part of the community, the vast majority, but a couple bad apples is enough to ruin something for me personally). Also the way they treat vets, like I swear there's some pipeline on tiktok the starts with pet food conspiracy's that leads to thinking vets actively seek to harm ur dog at every given opportunity 😭

Is it as bad IRL ? My dog is pretty old so I havent been to any dog events in a long time so I don't really have much knowledge on what its like in the IRL communities (plus when I did do agility and such with my dog my experience wasn't great with the trainer helping me teach my dog which actually ended up in my quitting, so to be honest I never really got to experience much of IRL events sadly). I'm very curious if this just a problem online, or do you see it irl too?

Sorry for all the rambling, I think seeing all those tiktoks everyday has scrambled my brain lol

yes for sure I've noticed so much! Personally for me, I find irl people are very ignorant or uneducated, there is an extreme amount of byb's, and awful dog owners around me. Like Blu Malinois said, I try too to not chime in on social media, but there are a few trainers/breeders/dogtok people that I genuinely do enjoy a lot of their content.

What a cutie!! Also be proud, those tricks are awesome as is. Personally my favouite is rewind (go backwards around my legs)!

On another note, I messaged another Tervuren breeder about finding a good fit for my next dog. Super excited to hear back! Also my rescue boy did his first go in an obedience ring, of course he did great, but moreso I'm just super happy he's stable, calm, and clear headed through a looong 6 hour event.

Your dogs are adorable! I love Australian Shepherd(I have one myself) and I've always wanted a Pomsky. :)

Just coming here to rant. I've got 3 dogs. Well actually the 2 of them (jack russells) live with my mom but I visit them weekly so they're still kind of mine as well lol. And I wanted to get myself my own personal dog as well. So last June I adopted an Aussie. He was 9 months then already and hadn't really been trained or anything like that but I didn't think it'd be an issue as our Russells have turned out absolutely perfect. Boy, was I wrong. His energy levels are absolutely insane and he is also dog reactive, which we've already been working on for a while now, but it's still so difficult. I love him to bits, but sometimes I wonder if getting him was the right decision.

So if anyone has any success stories regarding their reactive or difficult dog, I'd love to hear them :)

I feel your pain! It's super hard having such a great experience and then your world gets turned upside! All dogs need training, I made that same mistake when I adopted my rescue pup.
My boy became very aggressive and reactive when I was in covid lockdown. I'd say counter conditioning works great for reactivity, start at a distance and slowly work up closer, lots of reward for even simply looking at his triggers. As well as finding what tires him out. I've found lots of dogs need different outlets, could be swimming, decompression walks, something like training that pushes him mentally, maybe it's a flirt pole since he's a herding breed, food puzzles, etc. I totally questioned myself after getting my first dog, you're not alone at all! I just needed to find that putting in the work and finding what worked for the dog you've got pays off big time.
