Hi,
I have never entered one of these.
I’ve just read through the rules but it doesn’t mention anything about multiple entries?
Is it a one entry or are we allowed multiple?

Ps surely the first contest has a winner now? Where can I find that information? Sorry I am not sure where to look.

EDIT: I am going to do the celebrating new years party. I will have my pet be the main character but can I use my friend's pets as the pets at the party? I could easily have all side characters be my own pets but I think this Prompt would be fun if the pets at my party are actually my friends. Is that allowed? If you need me to explain more I can. With permission from friends linked at the bottom of my entry of course (already have one willing!).

The story can have other characters and they can belong to other people, but you shouldn't include any links to/images of other pets. A pet you own or an image from the archive should represent the main character in the story.

You can use any pets found in the archive so no need to ask permission, unless you want to use a custom pet which I guess is quite uncommon to do and no need to link the pets used except for the main character hope this helps <3

Oh no my main character will be my own so I will link him. I am asking a question about this part of the FAQ section:

Yes, your story may have side characters, and it is okay to use characters you don't own (fandom) or from someone you know (with permission).

I want to know where I show I got permission? Is that something I message the mods about or post here? I would be glad to show the "someone I know" gave permission! Does this make sense?

Is the information on the main thread up to date? x It seems like the winner from the first contest (November 2022) has not been decided/announced; is that correct?

November is currently being judged - I apologize for the delay, it will be released by rollover tonight. Unfortunately, I had a matter I had to deal with this past weekend that made me late! I apologize and the results will be up soon (and will be on the monthly announcement instead of mid-monthly I believe)!

Happy to announce our first winner. There were so many AMAZING entries, I was captivated by your stories and how your pets handled the season change. I was very impressed by the number of entries and the creativity everyone had, and cannot wait to see the progression of this competition in the future.
I do apologize for the delay and thank everyone for their understanding. I will speak to admins to get the winner also announced on the first post of the month so that way we can feature the amazing works!


Before I announce the winner, I wanted to give quick honorable mentions (in no particular order) to Omiyage, Hardcore Uvula, and Sledo. I enjoyed all of your stories and how you incorporated the pets into it. I don't want to admit how much time it took me hemming and hawing and rereading your stories and really trying to feel which connected with the prompt best for me. Honestly, you all made it very hard.

Congratulations horsesrule76! I read your entry before and thought your voice was deeply expressive and your protagonist was utterly endearing. It was a unique choice to choose a pet from the pound and how it shaped the story you told. Bravo!
