It varies year to year but last year we had one box that had very rare/OMG so Rare pets inside and two boxes with rares. All three boxes had a chance of dropping the new UR!

im hoping to trade for rereleases this year and gift some to newer users and especially those who have accounts that are too new to participate or COPPA users. Of course there’s the worry that people will try to scam the pets I’ve gifted,but I’ll make sure to leave a good warning about potential scammers in my trade messages. Dec 18 might be risky for new users,but it’s also a great way for them to start building collections so I’ll try to look on the bright side.

I was thinking of making a thread in free adoptions this year,but I think people would try to use it as “bait” to find newer accounts so I might wait on that and play it safe by searching and gifting accounts myself.

is the 18th release limit 2? as in you only recieve 2 pets from the box? i can't remember.

It depends. There has also been multiple boxes before but for vr and up one the limit has been 1. Before there was just one mixed rarity box with more pets. I don't know how they're going to do it this year but probably 2-3 pets with one at least vr

We've always been able to receive 3 pets, it's just kind of changed over the years in terms of how the box(es) are set up. The past few years we've had three separate boxes, one with rares, one that I think could be rare or very rare, and one that was very rare/omg so rare. But you can get the new UR pets from any of the boxes.

If it’s the way it was last year, there will be three boxes: one that’s a guaranteed newer rare, one that’s a guaranteed older rare, and one that’s a guaranteed very rare or OMGSR. You have a chance to pull the new URs from any of the three boxes, but you can only get older URs from the VR/OMGSR box.

I’m feeling pretty lucky this year. This past week I got several hundred dollars in gift cards from work. And I got into a science fellowship so I’m pretty happy. Although in all the years of collecting, I don’t believe I’ve ever actually gotten a 2008 Christmas rat as my pull. So I’m crossing my fingers that I do! Or at least one of the malk fish I’m not expecting a lot. I’ll be happy with anything, obviously.

I kind of wish I knew when the 18th specific pet ID and “what’s it worth” thread opened, cause I’d like to put that in my trade forum and in my rules. I love that CS now updates their announcements page to include that, but I like doing my part. I think it’s part of being an older user. I’ve been around a while and seen a lot of pets - so I might as well use that knowledge and help other people ID their stuff.
