since there were 12 unique outcomes out of an adoption limit of 17, I think it's safe to say that there will be no splits. If there were splits the adoption limit would probably be higher. You can always wait til they grow to be safe, but I think you're pretty safe to swap them!

There's no set-in-stone rules or guidelines to determine if something will have split outcomes, however, there is one way to somewhat predict it. Generally speaking, if the total amount of outcomes to the total amount you can adopt has a close ratio, like in this case 12:17, it's usually pretty unlikely they will have any splits. It's not completely fool-proof of course, but that does tend to seem to be the case.
