Stillehonds are descended from Dutch and Belgian Shepherd and Sheep Dogs. They were named for their ability to swiftly and quietly approach their targets, whether it be prey or an intruder on their land. Intelligent and highly driven, Stillehonds are protective and can be stand-offish, but friendly and affectionate with family and friends to which they are devoted. They do not do well in homes where they would be often left alone or under-stimulated and make great running are hiking companions as well as protection dogs. They come in Short, Medium, and Wirey coats.
