there's a bit of info here on how to do it! it also has two links to some tartan designers if you don't want to draw it yourself. i haven't played around with the second one much, but the first one lets you input hexcodes & use a colour wheel if there's a specific colour you're going for! i don't think it allows you to save the tartan itself, so i just take a screenshot and crop it to a square in an editor like pixlr :)
