Clan: The Dark CarnivalQuest Number: OneResponse:Viperstar, and Fortune's End considered the question presented to them carefully, and looked at each other. The Ringmaster flicked his tail, unimpressed by the topic posed by the other cat. "That depends on which one of us you ask." he said cooly. "I, myself, am not a particular fan of the holidays. Never have been, even when I wasn't... a cat." One of his ears had started to flick in annoyance. It was with great effort that he stilled it. Never had been a fan of females - cats or otherwise - asking him questions, but he supposed since he
was trying to make a new start, maybe some things had to give. One of those being his distaste of the opposite gender. His tail formed into a curly-q hook as he thought about his honest-to-goodness answer. What
did he want to do for the holidays? For... He glanced toward Fortune, who was hanging on his every word. Starry-eyed kitten though he was, Ian had a certain fondness for him. He sighed.
"I suppose we'll drag a bush into camp, and decorate it with what we find. That's what humans do for... Christmas, is it?... anyway. That's the closest I think we can get to a normal holiday tradition, with where we live. There is no day here, and so far, no snow. Only rain." He snorted. "Until Chroma decides otherwise, at least."
"C'mon Viperstar, Chroma's not that bad." Fortune piped up. "He was saying that in
his homeland, they all gather around a fireplace, and tell stories! And then they share one big feast, and lots of little gifts to celebrate the oncoming spring!"
Viperstar's ears flatted. That was pretty much par for the course for Xalneas in Juridia. Was Chroma... No. There was no way he was... unless.... ... That thought could be tackled later. "Sounds fun." he settled on, as a response. "Would you be okay if we did the bush thing?"
Fortune grinned. "Oh yeah! I'd be totally down for that. Sounds like a lot of work, but it could be really pretty in the end! And maybe Chroma will give us some socks, and we can pretend we have
stockings! That would be AWESOME! I wonder what I'll get in my stocking from Santa Claus..."
The older cat rolled his eyes. "I don't know who Santa Claws is, but I'm pretty sure we'll have to get each other gifts. I doubt any benevolent spirit is going to visit us. Not that any spirit like that could even FIND us, let alone stop to stay." He huffed. "Now, is that the only question you have, or... Oh. Of course it's not."
Quest Number: ThreeResponse:Viperstar listened to the second question, and tilted his head a bit. "Well.. Chroma still hasn't told us who StarClan
is yet, only that we need to help them with something - which
also isn't a thing he's clued us in about. So we're floundering a bit, in terms of the cosmic whatevers of this universe..."
".... I saw StarClan." Fortune said softly.
"Since when?" Viper's ears swiveled back to hear what his Pawn had to say.
"Oh, when I was drowning. A starry cat came up to me, and rubbed against my legs. I had two of them at the time. It was really sweet. But then he
spoke to me, and he told me 'You aren't what I would consider a Warrior in my time, but your heart is in the right place, and your will is strong. You will be just fine.' - and then he led me to this huge circle of rocks, where there were a lot more starry cats, and each one came up to me and rubbed against my legs just like he did." Fortune's End smiled as he recalled the sight, not scared by the implications at all.
"They were all really friendly! They let me pet them and told me all about things like mice, and rats, and what to eat, and what not to eat, and what seasons were good for hunting, and... well, some of them expressed sadness that my previous form had been so roughly-treated by life, so... some of them said that they'd watch over me for a while. Just until I got my paws under me. It was really nice of them, they seemed like they really cared about me."
The former-blonde sighed explosively, and turned to face his Pawn fully. "And
when were you going to tell me all this information that would have been useful days ago?" he asked, tailtip flicking. "If there was a scale for rank, I'd demote you for this."
Fortune sank back into a crouch, and flattened his ears slightly. "I... I'm sorry. They told me not to until someone asked about StarClan, and this lady has now, so this was the time. I- I didn't mean to keep anything from you. Please don't be angry!"
"I'm not... I mean, I am, but I won't..." Viperstar swished his tail in a wide arc. "Okay, I'm not ANGRY at you. I'm just kind of flummoxed you didn't
tell me this. It would have been... relevant information. Information Chroma hasn't touched. Which I consider kind of suspicious in the first place." He snorted again. "At any rate." Turning back to the female, he canted his head to one side. "Does that answer your question?"
