While I think the current archivist is doing a good job sometimes IRL stuff and other obligations take priority - having a 2nd archivist in the team would help fill in for those times when our current one is busy :-] Support.

Support, Solloby's work is amazing and helps the site tons, but I think they shouldn't have to worry about dealing with the archive every month of the year + to an increased level during events. Just consider how annoying that might be especially when they get sick or are on vacay!! imagine being out for a week with friends or family and having to make sure you get on CS at a certain time to update the archives. a second archivist couldnt hurt.
the only issues I might see happening are all hypothetical since we dont know how archiving works. the things that come to mind are maybe with two archivists one time they both do it at the same time and it makes for example two halloween pages, or a halloween page with double the items. if they have some way to communicate about this stuff I dont think it would be an issue though

Support! I am always of the opinion work should be shared. Can you say any other aspect of the staff team is run by a single person? We have multiple admin, multiple admin assistants, mods, oekaki mods, artists, general helpers and on and on.
Solloby does important work as this site caters to collectors and that archive is the heart of it all. It's not unreasonable CSians expect the archive updated promptly but it is unreasonable for all the responsibility to fall on one person. We'd like to help!

Full disclosure - I have no idea how running a website or archive works so I could be talking nonsense
I don't understand why the archive isn't 'preloaded' like events are. With events, its always 8am CSST that things rollover and new stuff is added and accessible so I'm assuming this is done on a timer and not done manually by a person at the same time everyday. Couldn't the archive be done like this where it's set up to just appear once rollover has occurred? That way the archivist can do the work before hand so that there isn't the opportunity to be late (baring extenuating circumstance where they were unable to complete the work beforehand) and they can just "set it and forget it" rather than having to be on CS everyday.
