As you're about to hand the squash over normally, you accidentally drop it when Fable leaps at it with his claws out! The squash is smashed on the ground but he doesnt seem to care. He takes a few big bites of it before taking a giant chunk of it in his mouth and wandering off.

You follow him out to the back of the pumpkin where a small garden of lettuce, spinach, turnips and other greens are growing. Fable places the hunk of squash onto a pile of tilled dirt while you and your kat watch, mystified. A few silent seconds pass before the dirt begins to shift. Suddenly the largest worm you've ever seen appears from the depths!

Fable tries his best to keep his cool while you pass him the squash. While forcing himself to stay calm, you see him start shaking from all the excess energy. He manages to keep himself together long enough to drag the squash somewhere behind his desk. When he returns he nods his head at you, indicating you should follow him.

He walks you out to his garden where a variety of vegetables thrive in little rows. He catches you admiring the lettuce and spinach and trots over.
"You like them? I promised Shortcake i'd help her make a salad with these tonight so i cant offer you them but i can give you this!"

Fable is surprisingly calm as you pass him the squash. He spends a while licking and gnawing at the squash, purring gently, ntil you clear your throat.
"oh right! your reward..hmm..." He looks up at the cieling for a second as he thinks, "ah i know! wait right here!"
You wait in silence as he trots to some other room in the pumpkin. For a second you stand in silence. The light crackling of the candles and smell of cinnamon comforts you as your mind drifts to old, happy memories. You're brought out of your daydreams by the sound of loud meowing.

You look down to see your kat chasing fable in circles and meowing angrily. It looks like somethings stuck on their head..

Once the commotion settles down, Fable gives a soft chuckle.
"They arent great for walking anymore, those soles are in pieces," he mews "but i hope you like them nonetheless. I got them from an old friend, and maybe some of her spirit will follow you and give you good luck on your travels"
His tail curls around one of the squash he hasnt touched yet.
"Here, you should keep one of your squash. They make for a great soup!"
