I don't even like writing, and I would be down for this. I'm a tad concerned about how much demand may revolve around the prizes, but depending on what the prize ends up being that may not matter. I hope this helps with increasing user participation ( ◜‿◝ )♡ 100% support

this sounds great!! i really enjoy participating in challenges like these when i can, so it's nice that we're considering one that suits my interests. :) in regards to prompts - would all of them revolve around cs or one's cs pets? i was thinking it could get repetitive, but honestly, remembering the impact that the potato/diary trend had on me as a kid... i think it could be a great way to keep people engaged with the "lore" of the site year-round. i know i Love seeing that stuff during summer events.
i can also see the competition being a good way to get to know the staff, especially if it's not just oekaki/rp mods! maybe yall could sometimes explain the reasoning behind your prompt, like why it's important to you or why you think it'll be fun. the discussion thread(s) would be fun as well!! chatting about the prompt or what you liked about previous rounds, getting to discuss + help workshop other people's stories. (speaking of - word count? word limit? would it change from month to month, would it be the judge's decision, etc etc)
all in all this is a lovely idea and i would be so happy to see something grow from it. one of the most helpful things for a new (or experienced!) writer to have is a supportive community, which can be hard to find on social media. i think this would be a great chance to make connections and get a look at how others see the world. the front-page feature is also very incentivizing i gotta say (eyes emoji)

The prizes would not be exclusive or anything, they would be already existing CS pets.

I love writing and this could be a great motivation for me to get into the habbit of actually writing stuff, I'd be greatly interested!
I am also interested in the judging process: is it mainly focused on story and creativity, or on how "well" it is written?

I have updated the front page with some of the more frequently asked questions that have been popping up!
To answer recently asked one’s (not quoting because it’s a lot of the same ones)
- yes there would be a word limit, it would likely be 500 minimum and 1000 maximum. This makes it so people are on more event footing (one person isn’t writing a novel while someone else can only write 500 words), and makes it so the staff are not overwhelmed when judging. This is also why we would likely give the staff member the whole month to judge, in case there are quite a few entries.
- the judging would mostly focus on the story. There will obviously be some minor variations from judge to judge as is normal, but we are more interested in the narrative you tell than how good your grammar is. :)
Also thank you all for the comments, questions, and suggestions! We really appreciate it!

I have received 14 gifts. IMPORTANT INFO: For the description portion, you have to break up each line to fit within the invisible boundary. Try to fit it within the "page break".

Hey um question. Let's say you win one. Can you still submit writing for future competitions? If this becomes a thing I want to respond to each prompt whether or not I've won one in the past or not. Don't even care if it's not a qualified entry if you've won in the past etc. Writing and CS are my two main hobbies so I'd like to make it a thing I do each month if possible.
