      Featured Users

Featured Users is a way for users to get noticed when they have their lights on. We will occasionally go through the list of users and randomly pick out 10 who have their lights on and post those 10 in a Featured Users.

You will still need to check the lights status of the users! Don't send them messages unless their lights are on. Their lights may be on at the time I post the list, but they may change their status before you see it, so always check.

Additionally, please do not quote/repost this if you are commenting on it.

To see previous Featured Users posts for this year's game, search the keyword 'lemon' on the thread.

For starters, I love this game so very much and try to give as many rares as I possibly can!
Everyone deserves a treat at this time of year lol

But, I have noticed some players have their lights off constantly, I mean from day 1 or 2. (I do recheck daily)

They manage to visit but have yet to turn their light on.

I understand that they may not have much to share and still wish to participate in the game, although I do not really think they are really interested in helping the community spirit.

Does anyone else find this?

I do find that! I have slowed down a bit but for the first 5 days I’d check 2, even 3 times a day and lights still off :(

The other site I'm on that does this has a requirement for your lights to be on if you're trick or treating. I feel like this could be added next year to keep things fair

does anyone else kinda feel bad when someone gives you a really nice gift, then you can only give them like one or two items back? I have done that a few times, I am not trying to! They have a small wl and I went on hiatus for like half a year so my trade folder is very sad looking.

for the idea of enforcing people to turn their lights on - there was discussion of this last year, i believe this is where the conversation starts, and it continues onto the next two pages. and here is the very long post i made addressing possible suggestions that were brought up. i'll quote my tl;dr here though for anyone who just wants to see that. emphasis on the last line
Keir; wrote:tl;dr - Enforcing a rule requiring people to turn on their lights is just not feasible. Having people keep track of both who they visit and who visits them, and then collecting those at the end, would be a lot of extra work players and mods alike. There would also be no way to realistically cross check all the sheets, so they would work on an honor system as well ... which is what we already have, so there's no point imo. And making people pick a specific day to leave their lights on all day would just cause a whole lot of stress for a lot of people. Letting people turn their lights on and off whenever they have (or don't have) the time and energy to do so is a big part of what keeps the game fun rather than stressful. I'm all for ensuring that everyone plays fair, but not if it comes at the expense of everyone else. Also, even if we could enforce a rule for everyone to turn on their lights - as per CS rules, we can't enforce that they give out treats (they could just trick everyone who visits).

@Lovebean As someone who gives out nice gifts regularly I don't care if the same person comes and gives me not as "nice gifts". I will say what you consider a nice gift is subjective. I love items and would be thrilled to receive any even non-wishlist. And anyway I feel awesome sending out rares xD I want to run and hide if someone tries to give me rares. Aaaaaah no go away bahaha!

As far as some users not turning on their lights, this happens every game year after year. I have even made a note beside their username in my list that they don't turn their lights on >:3 so I seeeeeee yooooou! They only hurt themselves, they don't know they are missing out on some great interactions giving treats. Small or large, everyone is appreciative and you get bombarded with positive energy. So sad for them they don't open themselves up to a better experience.

^^^^ Same as BEK, I play for the joy of playing. I never mind being tricked, and I really do try to hand out treats that the recipient will like, or at least find useful for their hoards/collections. Sometimes I can't give what I've been given, and when that happens I try to pay it forward, and give a gift that's maybe more pets/more value than the user can afford by trade? I just sort of think that what goes around comes around, and as long as I try my very best to give good treats, I'm paying it back for all the times I was a new user or got ridiculous gifts before ^^

Yeah, I noticed that too. I've seen people trick or treating yet they NEVER have their lights on when I check. The whole point of LOLO is gifting, it's honestly really rude to join just to get free stuff without actually giving anything out.
