Something I've noticed also well are the categories in the stamps and the item sorting are off. Stamps aren't organized in any way I can see and we definitely don't get new stamps enough.

Just curious, what would be the difference in stickers and stamps?

i mean these "decorative items". they look more appealing to me than plain stamps but there really aren't many and the ones that are there are all super old. i think there were never new ones added, actually.

Okay but on this same topic… Does anyone else remember when CS sold actual stickers for a limited time? Is this something I remember from a dream? Maybe they should put on more limited events where they sell merchandise or something. I definitely remember the sticker thing.

Ohh, you mean in the stamps section? Those are still considered stamps I believe. I do agree, we need more decorative items for the stamps! We've had quite a few new events since then.

I can't remember if there were official stickers or not but they did sell merch at one time! I believe Tess or some of the mods at the time went to a furry convention and brought some with them? Somebody back me up here lol

CS used to have actual physical merch but iirc shipping was a nightmare due to Tess and Nick being based in New Zealand... I unfortunately doubt it's coming back :[

Just wanted to pop in here to provide a little bit of CS history since the topic of merchandise has come up a few times! c:

Yes, there was a time where CS had physical merchandise and items for sale, but it was never truly a full scale "shop" that had a constant stock of items available for purchasing. The "CS Mall" as it was called first opened in November 2012 as a "Black Friday" sales event following the CS team (or members of it, more specifically) having attended Anthrocon - the following is a quote from the site news post announcing the store:

Update: many products are now sold out, but I will try and add more buttons to the list tomorrow
I hope all our American friends had a very happy Thanksgiving yesterday! While Americans are hitting the mall today for Black Friday sales, we're having a special sale of our own. For a limited time only we will be selling buttons, keychains, and stickers from our own "Chicken Smoothie Mall" online, so you can get a few Christmas presents organized!

Unfortunately we don't have enough stock for everybody, since some of these items are leftovers from our visit to Anthrocon, and the rest are hand-made by Tess. Most items have a limit of 1 per customer to try and ensure we deliver to as many members as possible. We're very sorry if you visited our Chicken Smoothie Mall and didn't get what you wanted. Tess is visiting the US right now which is the only reason we're able to sell these products at the moment, since usually the shipping costs from New Zealand (our home country) make it impossible to sell to overseas customers.

(as an aside, here is a link to the post regarding Anthrocon, which includes some context for the merchandise that was created and some more images of the items - to my knoweldge, the Sunback plushies were never officially produced for distribution/sale)

The mall reopened in late 2013 before re-closing in March 2014 - the announcement thread by Tess from that time can be seen here, which includes some pictures of the merchandise that was available (buttons, stickers, and keychains). The mall reopened again in late 2015, again as a Black Friday sale, and has not opened again since.

Tess spoke about the mall/merch in the "Ask the Staff" thread a handful of times in 2017, with the latest comment from her regarding the store having been in November of 2017 - January, October, November
At the time, it was suggested that the store may return, but there are factors that have been noted since before the merchandise was produced (as far back as 2010), where it was noted that it was an extremely costly process to produce and (especially) ship out the products from New Zealand, as that is where Tess and Nick are from. Tess wrote more about this cost factor in her response from January 2017 (noted above).

None of this is to say that merchandise may not be a topic of consideration in the future, I just wanted to provide a little more context to the discussion since this information may be new to some users! ^^

Not that you personally have to answer Lennie lol (great info by the way) but if the hiccup is shipping costs from New Zealand why do the products 1. Need to be handmade? and 2. There are companies, large and small, all over the US that can make stickers/buttons if the main market is American CSians.

As far as costs there are a lot of adults on the site with jobs who would be happy to spend $30 on a stickers sheet even if the cost were that extreme (doubt they would be) because they want physical CS merch any way they could get it. I am curious to know how expensive are we talking.

I'm just over here a supporter of bringing back the physical merch + adding more products.

Edit: also a little personal since my CEG Keychain fell off the string a week after it arrived from the mall and I can't buy a replacement Q.Q
