On the topic of daily/weekly tasks or rewards:
It was mentioned before somewhere (probably a few times, but I didn't see it recently)
I wouldn't want the timer/counter to reset if I miss a day, but I would love it if it just paused and then next time I logged in, I could pick up where I left off (let's say I was on a.. 20 day streak and missed 3 days, the next time I log in I would go to 21)

Those who are opposing it, would that be a good compromise? :0

No, unfortunately I don’t think daily tasks are a good idea at all. :0 I do have one small bias in that I’ve seen this kind of thing on another website before and it was disastrous. A petsim that I played for a while, called ‘Dappervolk,’ had daily tasks without much else to round out the game play. the daily tasks quickly (for pretty much everyone, this was a nigh-universal experience) became boring, repetitive, and felt like a grind, even though they weren’t required and most of them didn’t establish any kind of resetting “streak.”

I just don’t think CS’s intrinsic appeal would benefit at all from daily accomplishments. It’s not really that kind of game and never has been. Things like lore, or minigames from events, or more staff interaction are the kinds of things that would keep the spirit of CS intact and increase the amount of things you could do on-site without fundamentally changing the nature of the game.

Maybe the tasks/second currency could be implemented through dressup competitions. In addition to the monthly contests, there could be a weekly/daily contest that changes more often and has the chance to yield this secondary currency. Maybe a set number of dressup contest "winners" (by votes or a staff pick) could win some currency?

That way they aren't repetitive/boring clickable tasks, but something creative instead. It's also not really required, so there's no FOMO, it's just an option for players. Tbh, kind of like art competitions onsite are an option for artists--it's just more universal, and could be CS official.

oooh… okay. this suggestion is interesting. 👀 personally I’m unsure about where a second currency could lead/if it would be beneficial, but the idea of utilizing dressups to further create gameplay sounds like a nice idea tentatively. That would further incentivize item purchases in the C$ store as well and chip away at the inflation problem.

Additionally, on the topic of stamps, I'd love an exclusive stamp for those of us who have actually purchased C$. I'd personally like something more playful such as "I helped pay for the CS servers to stay up!" (would have to be shortened for a stamp I'm sure LOL) Or just "I donated to CS!" would be cool?

coming back to this to say that I think this sounds cute and would be a fun addition! ^^

i would be a big fan of a dressup competition with prizes! more people would do dressups, interest in item trading would increase, and if the winner was decided/influenced by votes (maybe staff could pick a set amount of finalists and then cs users would vote on the winners?) more people would pay attention to the competitions in general because i see very little interest in them currently even though some of the dressups are very cool.

as for what the prizes would actually be, i don't know. maybe a stamp? a pet or item, especially if it related to the theme in some way, would be really cool but then it'd be really rare and we already have enough pets like that lol. maybe one valuable pet that already exists, like a dec 18th kind of.

and maybe there could be different categories per dressup prompt? like new users, etc. so that older players with the most items don't automatically have an insane advantage.

maybe some of the dressup prompts could be chosen by cs users by voting? especially if there was some discussion, that'd draw people to the forum + potentially increase staff interactions

tbh maybe if it would be too much work/too involved to introduce a second currency, dressup competitions could be hosted daily/weekly/etc with like. the prize being a random pound pet, or something

mark but also, i know it's been discussed before, but another thing is def staff interaction. if you were a newbie, you would really just think all the staff were inactive. the only way you know they're active is because they reply to questions, and i do send out monthly trades gifting one or two some pets/rares/items on their wishlists.
on other places, and these aren't pet collecting games, like in discord servers i'm in, iwaku, etc, the mods interact constantly, so you get to know them and they're less of some scary thing waiting for you to slip up, so i think it would be good for the new users. this site is big and scary and the idea of scary mods to new users might turn them away from the site.
all i say is, maybe not daily tasks/big changes? this site is nice like this, and some older users might get thrown by the idea. just my opinion though.

Dress-Up Competitions

There is or was a game in Animal Jam where you had access to all/most items in the game during the minigame. There were a certain amount of people and you voted on which one you think is the best. There is also a similar thing in Pokefarm Q, where you vote between a few users at a time. This could be a cool concept in addition to the secondary currency. It would feel a bit unfair to newer users if it was only based around the items you had, but giving a fair chance to everyone could be awesome. It would be important to have the community vote so there's a bit more activity there. There could be prizes for top 10, and the first place could get featured. It would be cool to have one every two weeks so there's a feature for the monthly and mid-month updates.

Community Voting

This is similar to the last suggestion, about community voting, but this could be voting about.. anything! I think two good ones to see would be 1. voting for summer event ideas and 2. voting for the next feature from the suggestions board. The selections not picked would be rolled over to the next vote.

I added two more to this post, some that I had originally forgotten.

I worry about community voting for dress ups.. People could easily say something like: "Like/vote for my dress-up and I'll give you a WL pet or draw art for you!" and it would become unfair. Onsite currency could be easy to track if someone does something like that (since mods/admins could just review trades to see if there was any suspicious activity) but art & advertising could take place off-site. :(

I'm very new to the game, and I haven't seen a problem with it. The site looks as if many people are talking, or am I just late and never really expeirenced it to the fullest extent?
