There's a bunch of facets of CS, you're right, but they ALL have issues.

Closed species used to be something I was really into as a kid ( I joined in '09 ), but nowadays it seems that the only way to get into closed species is:
- offering absurd amounts of C$ / expensive list pets
- being able to do art
- being able to do coding
- being able to write a lot & well
- knowing popular people
I have access to none of this, so I can't participate in closed species, as they're often unfriendly to newbies.

Trading is, as people have said, horribly broken; pet values are over inflated & it's impossible for new people to get into the game. I, too, had gifted away all my expensive pets, but unlike other users, nobody gifted me. I have three lists at this point, but I had to overpay for them and now I have nothing left to trade.

The forums are dead because everyone has moved to Discord, and the way this site is 'geared towards kids' makes things unfriendly to adult members.

There's sooo many issues that could be discussed, but the point is that this site is no longer casual user friendly.

I will say that activity fluctuations will occur no matter where you are. However, given the number of users that are still very much active, however, I wouldn't say the site is dying, per se, but just going through a transition. People come and people go. I can understand the concern, however, especially with how strict a lot of people are about trading.

I have only been here for a year, but this is what I see.

(Also, the slow pace of the site isn't for everybody. But it does suit others, and the only way to really know if something fits you and your speed is to test the waters yourself~)

not sure if someone said this, but adding onto the minigame idea, i think you could use minigames to earn food and medicine, which would be necessary to keep your pets alive. this way, the game would be more interactive and more fun.

I think this sums it up really well.

Just going to say that there are plenty of other pet games that do things like this, and the fact that CS doesn't is one of the reasons I'm here-- it doesn't require total dedication

I've "tested the waters" for umm 4 years I think, but I appreciate your input either way. This year has been alarmingly dead in comparison to last year, which I'm guessing was before you were here.

Agreed. I was also an avid Lioden user, but am currently on a hiatus because of that aspect.

I'm on another game that doesn't require any dedication but you can explore, level up, evolve, breed... At your whim, no daily thing required

But what I'm suggesting is putting in mini games, not mandatory reasons to play them.

I'm curious about what game this is, not gonna lie ~
But adding onto the minigame thing, I think exclusive minigame pets would be fun. Getting a certain score gives you the pet

personally my issue with this site is a couple of things

1. trading is very annoying. everyone trades differently and some people take it way too seriously and it ruins the fun aspects

2. the nft pets in the open trading groups just frustrate most ppl on this site

3. i also hate how so many people post trade stuff but i get no trades, like they are only posting if that makes sense, if everyone is only posting and not sending trades how can things move forward

4. i think some of the line art needs to be retired and refreshed. the rats and bunnys specifically imo

5. i think the lost and found cool down needs to be shorter, its such a big diffrence with the pound and how it will be open for an hour tops but the lost and found will be open for so long because its just a bunch of small items

good stuff i like

1. i love that the new event was different then the regular. it was specific to the event too which added another cool layer

2. the new snakes!! i love them sm very good stuff

3. the lost and found and pound i love that but like the reason above it just needs a bit of a change
