Originally founded back in 2014 by Quillington, Orb Cats has since gone through many ups and downs but has yet to be forgotten! I aspire to bring these wonderful creatures back to life and revive the community I so vividly remember!

Hello! Welcome to Orb Cats! Orb cats are a unique, feline species with orb-like growths on their legs and forehead. It is unknown exactly what these orbs do, but many of these cats also present with other abnormalities and abilities. Even greater, each one can fit neatly into your signature! No Orb Cat is exactly like another, stick around for endless possibilities!

Rules


• Be kind to one another. Bullying/ harassment of any kind is prohibited and will result in a permanent ban from this species.

• Orb Cats are a closed species. You may not create an orb cat or use the lineart unless you are an artist of this species

• You may not sell or trade an orb cat for anything other than another orb cat

• Please do not mini-mod. If you have an issue or concern please contact a staff member!

• You may not reuse a design out of species. If a design was made as an orb cat, it must remain so!

• You may create an off Lineart reference of your Orb Cats as long as the design remains unchanged.

• You may only try out and win one Orb Cat per litter unless stated otherwise

• You may own up to 30 orb cats at this time

• You must wait two weeks after owning an orb cat before trading it away.

• Using gifting to get around trading cooldowns is not allowed

• If an orb cat is in your signature you MUST link back to the main thread.

• When adopting a FCFS Orb Cat, you MAY NOT edit your post in any way. If you need to make a change, you must quote your original form or post a new one.

If you own a cat from before 2022 it is still valid. These old cats do not count towards your maximum amount of orb cats you may own, as they are grandfathered in. These cats will not be archived.

Artist Rules

• Arists must produce at least one litters OR complete 2 customs for users other than themselves per month

• All litters must contain at LEAST 3 orb cats

• Line edits are encouraged, but fully custom lineart is not allowed at this time

• all orb cats must have one orb on the forehead and three on each shoulder / leg. Editing the shape is allowed but removing any is against the rules

• litters do not need to match! Often times litters will correlate in some way but its not required!

• there is no rarity system in terms of edits so artists may make any line edits they please! (While still being recognizable as an orb cat)

• Animation is not required but it is encouraged! Even simple things like bounce/ blink add a lot of personality!
