This breed of mini drafts, a mix that was started between Haflingers and Icelandic Horses, was established in the early 1900s to assist in the development of roadways and hiking trails within Banff National Park up in Canada. Their broad chests and fluffy winter coat make living up in the cold Rockies bearable, and their densely muscled bodies make all the hard work they typically do possible for such a small breed of draft horse. Their size range varies, coming in around 13hh-15hh, with the tallest horses being only 15.0hh.
They tend to make a much better working horse rather than show horse and can often be used for carriage pulling and pulling farm equipment. They can still be ridden though despite being great working horses, and have retained the same unique gaits that Icelandic Horses are known for, the 'tölt' and 'skeið' gaits. They are typically hard working, easy going, and spirited horses, making for a great working or riding companion.
In recent years, the breed has come back into the spotlight after it had been more or less abandoned within the park and surrounding areas. Locals took it upon themselves to set up an event during the warmer months of the year to catch the wild horses, know as the "Summer Mini Round-Up". During the round-up, people from across the world can come and watch the horses parade through the main thoroughfare, making sure to keep an eye out on any horses they'd like to adopt after they've all been herded into the auction fields.

- All CS rules apply, including any interactions on our discord server.
- Rocky Mountain Mini Drafts are a closed species and only permitted artists may use these lines. You may use your RMMDs you have obtained elsewhere, but please link back to the species adopt page to give proper credit. Users will not be added to any RMMDs they have obtained.
- A storage page must be updated fully in order to request breedings and customs. This includes proper and easy to find links to individual RMMDs, as well as their lineages and slot usage. Sites such as weebly, toyhouse, or an on-site thread are acceptable, but deviantart storage is not. There is currently no limit to how many RMMDs you may own.
- Members are permitted one free birthday custom during their birthday month with one limited marking and unlimited rare and below markings. To order one, get in contact either with myself or an artist that has their customs open and let them know what you'd like! Please don't abuse this! Staff will keep track of who has ordered a free b-day custom.
- Edits such as added items, small lineart edits (i.e. horns, cloven hooves, etc.) mane/tail edits are acceptable, but all other edit types including functioning wings, lion tails, and roman noses or dished faces are not permitted. Any edits made are subject to pass in breedings as the requested breeding artist sees fit, they are not guaranteed to pass though.
- Custom RMMDs can be created for either c$ or USD. If using c$, the price must not exceed 500c$ unless ordering multiple customs. If using USD, all payment discussion must be taken offsite as per CS rules. All artists have their own prices for customs and are expected to abide by their individual rules.
- Custom RMMDs may be sold for the price they were paid for. The price cannot exceed 500c$, unless in the event artwork has been made for the RMMD. If discussing USD sales, they must be taken offsite as per CS rules. All artists have their own prices for customs and are expected to abide by their individual rules.
- Please do not bump adopts for the purpose of updating images or completing unjudged adopts. If it has been more than 30 days since the end date or judge date, please PM me and we can get things squared away.
- When transferring the ownership of an RMMD, the former owner and the new owner must post on the horse's page stating the transfer has been made. The original owner must also message the archivist about the ownership change to complete the transfer process. This is to ensure that everyone is receiving their side of a trade and that it is easy to find in the case of archival transfers.
- In the event of a member receiving a site ban, all owned RMMDs are subject to revocation and redistribution among the community. Creating artists are given the option to adopt first, and any others will be re-adopted out via raffles on our Discord. The same applies to anyone who may be banned from the species.
- Rules are subject to addition, alteration or removal at any given time.

- All RMMDs have six breeding slots.
- All horses must be named, have a halter, and have a fully up-to-date storage in order to breed. A warning will be given to users who send breedings in on multiple occasions with RMMD's who do not meet the requirements.
- Artists are encouraged to order breedings from others artists, but may create their own personal breedings. Rolling is preferred to be done by another staff member.
- Any edits made are subject to pass in breedings as the requested breeding artist sees fit, they are not guaranteed to pass though and should not be requested to pass in forms.
- Dyed manes and/or tails, as well as added items such as blankets or props, cannot be passed on to offspring. Colored hair is created via customs and is just hair dye, therefore it is impossible to pass on to foals.
- Rules are subject to addition, alteration or removal at any given time.

- Artists are encouraged to try to make one adopt per month. This does not include customs or breedings.
- In order to open customs, two free adopts must be made every time customs batches are opened.
- Artists may make a personal custom once per month with up to one limited marking and unlimited rare and below markings. These do not roll over into future months, but a previous month's custom can be created up until one week into the new month.
- Please try to keep genetics correct. If you have questions, don't be afraid to ask another staff member.
- Please try to keep limited and rare markings less common. Adopts should more often be common and uncommon, with rare markings interspersed every now and then. Limited markings should be restricted to customs, events, or special release milestone numbers (50s and 100s).

Bans: None!

Honorable Mentions, or HMs for short, are a way to award people for their creativity when they're just shy of winning an adopt. One to three HMs can be awarded per adopt should the artist see fit, and an HM may not be awarded at all, it's completely up to the artist. Once a user has collected a certain amount of HMs, they can talk with any artist who has their Customs open and request a custom depending on how many HMs they've gotten.
HM Conversion Chart
3 HMs - One RMMD with 5 Common Markings
5 HMs - One RMMD with 3 Uncommon and Unlimited Common Markings
10 HMs - One RMMD with 3 Rare and Unlimited Common and Uncommon Markings
15 HMs - One RMMD with 5 Rare markings and Unlimited Common and Uncommon Markings
20 HMs - One RMMD with 1 Limited, 5 Rare, and Unlimited Common and Uncommon Markings
This chart may or may not change in the future depending on how it works out.
