prompt answer:Sandstar sniffed around the tree, but before any prey appeared, a raccoon clawed him in the nose. Sandstar scowled, wiping the blood off of his nose. "You've got to be kidding me." Fear quickly overtook annoyance as he realized the wound could become infected. A bush rustled and Sandstar immediately crouched, thinking it was the raccoon. A tom thrust himself through the shrub and Sandstar stood up. The tom looked concerned, "I smelt blood and got concerned..." The tom sat next to Sandstar and began to lick his nose. Sandstar was wondering why the cat was doing that, but realized he was clearing the blood as the tom took a cobweb on his fur and soaked up the blood. "You should be alright! I have to get back to hunting, even though I'm terrible at it." The newcomer laughed and began to walk away. Sandstar dashed in front of the tom, "Hey, do you want to join my clan? We could use a cat like you." The tom looked interested, but sighed, "I'm horrid at hunting, so I wouldn't be of any use." Sandstar thought for a moment, "Well, you could be a healer?" The other tom looked up, "Really?"

Due these her anxieties, her siblings and mother were adopted before her. Her best friend was the runt of the litter, nicknamed Little. The night he was taken to join a family, Chicken escaped her foster's home through the cracked window, to join the stray cats in hopes of searching for her brother, and finding acceptance among those of her kind.

The hights of the lighthouse loomed high above August as she crept closer towards its towering spire. The ocean had already worn well into the shell of the building, but it’s bones stood strong against the howling wind. August knew it would be a perfect place to seek refuge away from the growing storm. He found his way through the cat flap in the door, which seemed strange to August.

The building was quiet enough… that is, until a soft cough was heard behind her, and she turned to towards the sight of a bearded twolegger staring down at her. She made to bolt away until the creature spoke, dumbfounding August.

“Wait! Just wait,” it said in perfect tongue. In cat tongue.

August froze and watched the creature reach across the bundle on its nest. Airing the bundle out, August saw with horror it was a cat skin, but the horror turned to amazement as the twolegger wrapped itself in the skin and fell to its knees as a feline before them.

This was the keeper of the Lighthouse, and soon became an incredible asset to the clan as watchman, feeder during icecoat and guard from the summertime beach goers.
