Sandpiper | Lightning Pack | Hunter | Location: Forest | Tagging: Bian

Sandpiper laughed, easily finding truth in Bian's statements. It reminded her greatly of how she had acted during her Trainee years. Her poor mentor had to put up with her attitudes, and she still felt faintly guilty about it to this day.
"I can get behind that." She agreed, tilting her head slightly in though as she watched her packmate gently bite the snow. She raised her muzzle and glanced at the other wolf's eyes as they spoke again, then back down at the path they both traveled. She listened as Bian spoke their thoughts, nodding twice or so in agreement. The differences between the two wolves were rather great, Sandpiper noted, but it was not an issue at all. Opposite opinions and wants were just fuel for a stronger bond.
The Huntress exhaled sharply as the scent of raccoon stung her senses. Sure enough, Bian was correct. She pricked her ears high and listened for any telltale sounds. The duo was nearing a little stream through the forest, and the trickling of water washing over soil and rocks was broken and rather quiet. Perhaps the creature had stopped for a drink? If so, this was its unlucky day. Sandpiper slowed down her pace, careful not to drag her feet and tail as she moved through the growth of the forest. As she watched her feet, she also kept an eye ahead of herself.
Not to her surprise, Sandpiper spotted a familiar striped pelt sitting near the brook. It didn't look very focused on its surroundings, and seemed to be paying more attention to the flowing water than anything else. The Huntress smirked, and moved aside, opening up a small gap.
"It's right there," She murmured in a soft voice, offering a barely visible nod in the raccoon's direction.
"You have a plan in mind?" Sandpiper questioned, wanting to cover all bases before springing in.

Thessadowes | Lightning Pack | All-Around | Location: Forest | Tagging: Smoke, Risen, Nyx

Thessadowes responded to Risen's acknowledgement with a small smile. It was pungent in the air for good reason - they were practically right next to the meadow. Speaking not, the All-Arounder nodded in front of her as an indicator that they had arrived. She stepped forwards and nosed through the budding foliage that obscured the path. She winced slightly as a few swigs scratched at her pelt, but the little pain was only a mere prick. Once she could see through the new leaves, her eyes widened slightly to adjust to the change in sunlight.
Sure enough, the group's senses were all correct. About five deer (from what Thess could currently see) were roaming around the meadow. There were in a loose formation for the most part, and a few were grazing on grass. The remainder appeared alert, their ears tall. It looked to be a buckless herd, as the All-Arounder concluded based on her vision. She gave a wag of her tail before retreating from the bushes.
"I think it is a doe-fawn herd. I can't tell if there are any males, but I doubt there would be. Not sure if any of them are wounded, but take a look and say if you see any different." Thessadowes repeated in a low voice, dipping her head slightly towards the ground. Even though they hadn't started the hunt, she could already feel her energy and enthusiasm tingling through her bones. Nothing better on a quiet morning than a shot at a good meal.

Tendril | Fire Pack | Hunter | Location: Camp | Tagging: Kassandra, Serafina

Tendril coughed once, but it sounded more like an action of awkwardness than anything else. She sniffed the air once by habit, then nodded as Serafina agreed with her suggestion.
"With our three-wolf group, I doubt we can really take down something too large." The she-wolf added with a little frown. As much as she would like to scout for new deer herds or something else deemed 'large', they would need more wolves to accompany them.
"Maybe another time, though." Tendril glanced towards the camp exit, and moved a few steps in its direction, out to the forest ahead. She was rather keen to begin the search.
"Everyone ready to head out?"

Aether - Female - Lightning Pack - Elder - 10 Years, 8 Months - Tagged;; Lucas (Leo, Louve, Rya)

xxxAny wolf with ears could have heard the patrolling wolves' conversation, and Aether was old, but she certainly wasn't hard of hearing yet. The practiced elder was out on a morning stroll by herself when she heard the heartbroken spat between Lucas and Leo. Staying wisely silent, the rustic she-wolf padded along, using her years of training to stalk alongside Lucas as he broke apart from the patrol, clearly getting distance between himself and his best friend. Even with her injury, she glided over the soft grass like a breeze.
xxxAether's nose twitched thoughtfully as she dipped her head, pausing alongside the younger wolf's shadow. This very well may get her ears bitten off, but what was there to lose, really? "I've had my fair share of heartbreaks, young one." The elder emerged from the foliage, her eyes glowing from the dappled shadows cast by the trees. She was almost a dangerous presence. "You carry your pride well. I admire that."

Louve could have sworn that she felt the heat coming off of Lucas as he passed by and she quickly moved out of the way to allow him to move to the front, marking the trees as she had planned to do since before they had left the camp. She supposed it didn't matter who did it, just as long as it was done. Once he had progressed further in front of all of them, she slowly decreased her speed so that she was now walking beside Leo and she left it a few moments before she opened her jaws to speak. "What... what was all of that about?" she asked in a low voice so that only he could hear.

Bianthe insecure huntress

◄4 years|Demifemale|Lightning|Demisexual|tagged; Sandpiper ►
indentationIt was a little funny, how different the two were, but the two got along pretty well from what they saw. They hummed softly as they slowly bent down and stepped under some ferns, so as to not disturb the foliage and alert the raccoon to the duo's presence. As their gaze landed in the general direction that Piper gestured to, and frowned. Giving their maw a lick, the wolf hummed in thought for but a moment before coming to a decision. "We could go for the tried and true, divide and conquer. One scares it and chases it towards the other." They offered with a quirked brow, " or maybe a rush kill, get in close rush it from different directions." Bian added, one ear twitching as they cleared their throat. They took a moment to dig their dull claws into the earth, disturbing the ground below them, scorching claw marks into solid earth. Their blood rushed with excitement at the thrill of the hunt, just like it always did. Bian loved hunting, and aside from their general skill in hunting, it was why they had chosen to become a hunter as a trainee.

indentation At the she-wolf's short response, the brute only hummed in return, his gaze turning back towards the river. He pauses for a heartbeat, tapping the claws on one paw on the ground, tail curling before moving on. The silence, was comfortable, for him at least. He never had minded the silence or solitude. While like any wolf, he was a pack creature, needing the familiar scents and feelings of his pack-mates, his loved ones, but he was also a bit of a loner. Solitude and silence - or as close to he could get to it - was a requirement every so often. Thankfully his need for solitude or silence wasn't dire, though he'd silently admit that he'd require a few hours alone after this patrol.

Sandpiper | Lightning Pack | Hunter | Location: Forest | Tagging: Bian

Sandpiper listened as Bian spoke, feeling enthusiasm as their whisper floated her ears. The Huntress watched their claws, and could almost feel the marks they left in the soil beneath her own feet. She nodded in agreement as Bian offered their suggestion, finding solidity in it.
"Sounds like a good plan. It can't avoid the of us," she replied, casting a quick glance back to the creature in question.
"I'll find a way behind it, and scare it off towards you." Sandpiper continued decidedly, tilting her head slightly at Bian. As much as she loved delivering the killing bite, she wanted to direct it towards her fellow packmate instead.
The Huntress raised her head by a few inches and looked around briefly, before setting eyes on a clear path that led away from the front of the raccoon. She motioned towards it with a flick of her tail, as if notifying her hunting parter that she'd head down there now.
Sandpiper began to back up, doing her best not to disturb the surrounding foliage.

Following the lead of Thess, Risen nodded and looked towards where the wolf had seen the deer. Just as she said, seemingly 5 deer with no males in sight "I agree. I don't see any males" he commented. While these female herds were a thing something in him felt a little unsure. "Maybe we caught them while the buck is gone" he added with another whiff of the air. He flicked his tail slightly in anticipation.

As the deer scent flooded his nostrils as they grew closer, it felt as electricity was in his veins. He couldn't remember being this excited for a hunt in a while. His paws felt as if they weren't touching the ground as he walked - you would call it a pep in his step. Risen flicked his ear towards the deer. Trying to pickup any sounds, he could hear them softly calling to one another. But they hadn't changed in tune. The deer didn't know they were there.

Destiny bounded out of camp, she had heard voices planning a patrol and she wanted to be on it. Unfortunately for her; she had gotten distracted smoothing her fur down. She hated not making a good impression. Her normal excitement seemingly being more present than normal, she almost hopped as she ran. Hoping to catching up. She ducked under a branch - with her clumsy self. Ended up tripping over a tree root. She landed with a thud. Small laughs escaped the wolf as she stood on her paws once again. She shook her fur out and shook her head. Scolding herself for not paying more attention.

“ew. Now I smell like dirt. And have it everywhere” she said aloud, talking to herself. Destiny looked around before deciding she had most likely missed the patrol. There was likely no chance she’d catch up without imposing. But, with the afternoon free. Why not head over to the river and wash off? Besides, all the running she just did made her thirsty.

As she padded towards the river, she paused to scent the air. There was another wolf , or she guessed. But she couldn’t pick up on who it was.

River smiled to herself as she approached Fish and Rain . She shook out her fur once she stopped "Alright, we're good to go!" she said cheerfully, part of her was thankful they hadn't left on patrol without her. But she trusted Fish and knew she wouldn't leave her behind.
Her tail wagged softly as she looked at the two wolves, she was truly excited to go out with a smaller patrol than normal. Maybe she would be able to get to know these wolves more? Perhaps make two new friends today instead of one?

Blaze dipped his head as Octavia began to leave the medic den. He knew there wasn't much left for him to say without sounding odd. He turned his attention back to Aleck with a smile. "have you eaten yet today?" he asked with a soft flick of his tail. The dark wolf wouldn't let anyone know - he had a habit of showing Aleck the most affection than the other wolves. Perhaps the most affection he had shown ever. He had a genuine what felt like instinct to take care of the medic.

Lucas | Lightning Warrior | Location: Forest --> River Border | Tagging: Aether --> Open (mentions: Leo, Louve, Rya)

Lucas had been power-striding through the forest, noting that the others in his patrol were doing well to keep their distance. Good. He didn't want to be comforted or sympathized with right now. If anything, he wanted to shout - to tussle with an enemy wolf and have an excuse to fight dirty. That's how he felt, at the bottom of things - dirty. The rejection of his dearest friend clung to his pelt like tree sap, sticky and unpleasant. He tried to ignore it, to burn it away in his frustration. He had learned long ago that anger, while destructive, could also be used as a productive outlet. Anger kept him energized, but hot-headed. So while he was able to walk faster and further than his patrol mates, it didn't make him very emotionally stable when Aether, the Lightning Pack busybody. She came out of the bushes, seemingly out of no where! Then again, in his distracted state, the youngster probably wouldn't have been able to scent a squirrel until it bit him on the nose.

"Did I ask?" He replied. "Thanks for your wisdom and admiration, Aether, but I'm really not in the mood." He didn't want to get in trouble with Shadow for being rude to an old bat like Aether, but could she just disappear into the bushes from where she came from. "If you're looking for someone to console, Leo's back there." His gestured with a resentful jerk of his head over his shoulder. "The rest of my patrol should be joining in on his pity party." He sneered. "Oh, poor Leo he had to hurt someone's feelings and now he's surrounded by everyone who loves him - including the she-wolf he apparently loves even more than he did me." He growled. "Well fine - they can all be pitiful and pathetic together! Why - I'm sure they won't miss me on the patrol, so if you do go back there, let them know that I'm headed out to patrol on my own and that they can do whatever they'd like to without me." With that, he stalked off, practically running, in an effort to get away from everything - from everyone!

He strode all the way from the forested area of the Lightning Pack to the river border. He had no inclination to go into the river - he couldn't swim, as far as he could no one in the forest beyond Fish seemed able to. Besides, he still wanted to vent - not cool his head off by taking a dip. Much like Aether, he was so distracted with his emotions that he didn't scent the she-wolf on the other side of the border. He just paced alongside his and growled.

Angel | Lightning Hunter | Location: Forest | Tagging: Blizzard, Waterlilies, Mick

Angel didn't know what to make of Blizzard's reply - he felt as though he'd come up against a tall, hard boulder, one that just... didn't comprehend flirting. He glanced around, checking at the others - at Mick, who was now complaining that they were slow and at Waterlilies, as though to mentally confirm that everyone was hearing Blizzard's bizarre reply as well as he did.

"Darling, I don't think you caught my meaning." He tried again to Blizzard, for he was a determined fellow who rarely gave up after a first let down. "I am relieved to have you, personally, here. Sure, you're good for protection - but you're certainly easy on the eyes, too." He offered Blizzard a charming smile. "But yes, I will follow you. Lead on, handsome. I'll be right on your tail."

Red | Fire Warrior | Location: Camp | Tagging: Cricket (mentions: Lonnie, Max)

Red considered the pup for a moment and then for another brief moment, considered what her return would be like if Lonnie found out. After a moment, she frankly decided that she didn't care what Lonnie thought - Cricket was old enough to go out of camp on her own, practically, and she was being smart about getting someone else to go with her. The fact that she didn't ask her mother to take her out spoke for itself and Red, well, she was fairly confident that the Alpha wouldn't hold it against her if she went to guard a youth without the mother's permission. Pack before blood rules and all that.

"Well, let's go now, then." She pushed away the prey. "We can eat later - don't complain about it. I feel like if we dawdle to discuss it, your mum will overhear and get... heated." She rolled her eyes and then turned, walking towards the pack exit. "You coming or not?"
