Sandpiper | Lightning Pack | Hunter | Location: Forest | Tagging: Bian
Sandpiper laughed, easily finding truth in Bian's statements. It reminded her greatly of how she had acted during her Trainee years. Her poor mentor had to put up with her attitudes, and she still felt faintly guilty about it to this day.
"I can get behind that." She agreed, tilting her head slightly in though as she watched her packmate gently bite the snow. She raised her muzzle and glanced at the other wolf's eyes as they spoke again, then back down at the path they both traveled. She listened as Bian spoke their thoughts, nodding twice or so in agreement. The differences between the two wolves were rather great, Sandpiper noted, but it was not an issue at all. Opposite opinions and wants were just fuel for a stronger bond.
The Huntress exhaled sharply as the scent of raccoon stung her senses. Sure enough, Bian was correct. She pricked her ears high and listened for any telltale sounds. The duo was nearing a little stream through the forest, and the trickling of water washing over soil and rocks was broken and rather quiet. Perhaps the creature had stopped for a drink? If so, this was its unlucky day. Sandpiper slowed down her pace, careful not to drag her feet and tail as she moved through the growth of the forest. As she watched her feet, she also kept an eye ahead of herself.
Not to her surprise, Sandpiper spotted a familiar striped pelt sitting near the brook. It didn't look very focused on its surroundings, and seemed to be paying more attention to the flowing water than anything else. The Huntress smirked, and moved aside, opening up a small gap.
"It's right there," She murmured in a soft voice, offering a barely visible nod in the raccoon's direction.
"You have a plan in mind?" Sandpiper questioned, wanting to cover all bases before springing in.
Thessadowes | Lightning Pack | All-Around | Location: Forest | Tagging: Smoke, Risen, Nyx
Thessadowes responded to Risen's acknowledgement with a small smile. It was pungent in the air for good reason - they were practically right next to the meadow. Speaking not, the All-Arounder nodded in front of her as an indicator that they had arrived. She stepped forwards and nosed through the budding foliage that obscured the path. She winced slightly as a few swigs scratched at her pelt, but the little pain was only a mere prick. Once she could see through the new leaves, her eyes widened slightly to adjust to the change in sunlight.
Sure enough, the group's senses were all correct. About five deer (from what Thess could currently see) were roaming around the meadow. There were in a loose formation for the most part, and a few were grazing on grass. The remainder appeared alert, their ears tall. It looked to be a buckless herd, as the All-Arounder concluded based on her vision. She gave a wag of her tail before retreating from the bushes.
"I think it is a doe-fawn herd. I can't tell if there are any males, but I doubt there would be. Not sure if any of them are wounded, but take a look and say if you see any different." Thessadowes repeated in a low voice, dipping her head slightly towards the ground. Even though they hadn't started the hunt, she could already feel her energy and enthusiasm tingling through her bones. Nothing better on a quiet morning than a shot at a good meal.
Tendril | Fire Pack | Hunter | Location: Camp | Tagging: Kassandra, Serafina
Tendril coughed once, but it sounded more like an action of awkwardness than anything else. She sniffed the air once by habit, then nodded as Serafina agreed with her suggestion.
"With our three-wolf group, I doubt we can really take down something too large." The she-wolf added with a little frown. As much as she would like to scout for new deer herds or something else deemed 'large', they would need more wolves to accompany them.
"Maybe another time, though." Tendril glanced towards the camp exit, and moved a few steps in its direction, out to the forest ahead. She was rather keen to begin the search.
"Everyone ready to head out?"
