Name You'd Choose for It: Nutmeg
Gender: Male
Reason You Want It:
When I saw Nutmeg, it was as if everything fell perfectly into place. An idea formed, and instead of dissipating like it usually does, it grew and because form-able. I hope to be able to at least re-create his story in words, rather than just in my mind.
Also, he's both natural and a ferret. That right there just made it so much better<3
History/Background/Other:
He was the thief. The shadow in the night which all creatures feared.
And how he loved their terror.
Even now, slipping among the shadows of the luxurious mansion, he felt at ease. He was unnoticed. This would be easy. Not simple, but easy. He would simply go in, retrieve his prize, and slip away.
He neared the doorway to the master suite, heard the snores and restless tossing of the people in their bed. Shifting to sit on his hind legs, he studied the room, looking for traps or for alarms. Content with this, he then searched out the safe. Why they thought that a safe would stop him was beyond him. Locating it, he tiptoed across the room, being sure to watch the regular breathing of the people - making sure they did not wake.
Once at the safe, he stood on his hind legs, ear pressed to the front panel as his claws expertly twisted the dial. Even the faintest click was picked up by his keen hearing, and within moments, he had discovered the combination. He stood aside as the panel swung aside to reveal an array of jewels and trinkets, priceless novelties. Quickly filling the pouch at his waist with the most valuable of these, he closed the safe, spun the dial and turned. Only to face a furious-faced man sitting up in his bed. As the man began to shout out to his guards, Nutmeg took his cue - and ran.
He wheeled out of the doorway, pausing only to watch a bullet bite the ground where he would have stood only seconds later. With a disdainful look towards the area where the bullet originated from, he lurched into the night and loped away. Soon, he knew, he would hear the barking of dogs who would chase him; and give alarm to the dreary people asleep in their beds. On into the night he ran, silent even as the dogs began to sound. He would be well out of their reach by the time they even drew near to him. He poised himself, and arced upwards, landing on one of the many drain pipes. As he scurried up, his claws making faint shuctle shuctle sounds against the metal, he felt his waist pouch slipping to come to cinch around his legs. He hoisted himself on the gutter edge, and pulled at the pouch’s strap with his teeth, settling it firmly once more around his waist. Now clambering along a rooftop, he leapt the small gaps between roofs, running from one to another with ease. Finally, he stopped. Quietly, he pushed aside a granite roof tile, baring the oak roof beams below. He slipped his lithe body inside, carefully replacing the tile, and scurried down into the attic. Unhooking the pouch, he pried open the clasp to reveal the catch inside. A glitter of a gem, the shimmer of satiny gold. Eyes glittering in anticipation, he deftly piled his new treasures on the floor. Nearby, his previous spoils lay hidden in sawdust. Tomorrow, he would give some to his beloved master downstairs. Tonight, he would bask in the glory of his achievement.
wip
I've added a small pouch around his waist, I hope this is okay. <3
(His "master" is one of my human characters who I have never drawn digitally, and mostly play around with inside my head. I want to try to draw them together digitally if I get him.)
I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it.
