i have a few questions, if anyone has the time
does UFA in this context stand for 'up for adopt' or 'up for auction'?
what does 'prompt' mean at the end of the forms?
what are the acronyms seen at the start of some show names, and is some acronym required in order for it to qualify as a show name?

In this context it means up for adoption. I don't think they do auctions for Trotters though I could be wrong. Prompt means the question or thing you have to do to be considered to get the Trotter.
I am not sure about the acronyms though

for trotters on this main thread, ufa means "up for adoption". trotters marked "ufa" on the auction thread mean "up for auction"; the trotter's page will also clarify it as an auction, as well as the starting bid and autobuy.
for prompt, this is basically answering the artist's question. when posting an adopt, an artist will give a "prompt", which is to be filled out by those wanting to adopt the trotter; most commonly, you will see "to win this trotter show me/tell me -prompt-. prompts vary in what they are asking; some ask the users to develop the trotter while others may be picture prompts; it all depends on the artist's choice. the artist will always list the prompt on the main page, and the "prompt" category is where you fill out the respective question. for example, for kkspecial4's new adopt, they are asking you to pick a halter pattern for either that adopt or a future adopt. in the "prompt" category for the adopt form, you would answer this prompt, either through the use of a picture or a description of the halter. for sleepDandy's adopt, the competition is a raffle, so in the "prompt" category you would put your raffle number, which is one higher than the user before you
finally, as for acronyms, some people choose to have abbreviations of their stables at the beginning of their trotter's show name, (ie, for my stable, lavender coast stable, my abbreviation would be lcs, so if i chose to have an abbreviation, the letters lcs would appear in front of my trotters' show names). it is totally up to user's preference and is not required to qualify as a show name. i, for one, don't use abbreviations c:
hopefully this was helpful and hopefully it was alright that i jumped in to answer your questions <3
