in her childhood, lilith was showered with extravagant silks, laces, and anything her heart desired. as princess, heir to the throne, and the only child, she was doted on fiercely. her bedroom showed this - her bed was as large as the wall it was pushed up against and long enough to fit a grown man with room to spare. the covers and sheets were made of comfortable and embroidered cotton and linen, with silk top sheets to show her status.

heavy curtains line the windows, to keep light to a minimum - she instead uses candlelight which hurts her eyes much less than direct sunlight does. the floor was smooth and checkered, covered in soft carpet to keep your feet warm. she lined the walls with paintings, decorations, and anything she deemed interesting enough.

with the blackout curtains, her room was constantly dark much to the chagrin of her mother and nannies. thankfully lilith knew how to make a tactiful fuss about things, and the curtains were kept closed. with the darkness, lilith didn't put much thought into the color scheme of her room. she wouldn't see the colors most of the time so she asked her parents for the softest materials available, regardless of shade.

when she got older, before her parents passed, she got to set up a canopy net for her bed. she'd heard it was the latest fad in a neighbouring kingdom and wanted to try it out. the netting was less "mesh" netting and more of a thin dark silk material. it didn't matter to lilith as long as she got the canopy bed effect.

as reigning monarch and an adult who grew up too quickly, lilith's bedroom is a weird mix of maturity and childhood nostalgia. when she moved into her parents' bedroom, she got the canopy bed transferred, unwilling to let go of that memory (she had expected her parents to say no but was surprised with a "yes, dear"). her childhood blankets and sheets were reused elsewhere, probably unstitched for clothing if she had to guess, and replaced with more "adult like" sheets. her sheets are also more vibrant and extravagant in appearance - only the best for the queen, of course. lilith doesn't care - as long as they keep her warm they could made of be the ugliest patchwork in existence.

her walls include more paintings from her court's artists and less decoration she finds interesting. instead, she personalizes her shelves with books, small mirrors, and potted plants - anything to assert her own identity from queendom. tucked safely in the middle of her bed, between her pillows, is her favourite stuffed animal, sir totes, she's had since birth (a gift from her distant aunt). the whole castle could come crashing down tomorrow, and the only thing she'd rescue is sir totes.

for the rest of her room, she has a plain and unassuming desk, a worn-in chair, and other miscellaneous furniture. it's not much of import and lilith would rather keep it that way, despite what her staff say. she tries to keep it clean, but her maids do most of the cleaning up anyways.

as queen, lilith has to look at everyone as her enemy. allies they may be, but it does not take long for allies to backstab you. especially with her young age and how she came into the throne as a child, other nobility and kingdoms will look to her as a strategic weak spot if they wanted to invade or siege war. she can't have that, so lilith makes her power known within her court and tries to establish influence in others. the only ones not her enemies would be her deceased family, her ladies-in-waiting as they've been friends since before the throne was even a thought in lilith's mind, and her nannies because they raised her.

if she had to wear only one color, lilith would immediately choose purple. or maybe black. she's rather indecisive about her clothing colors, y'know! but most of her gowns are a shade of purple, so she would probably go with that. honestly, as long as it compliments her complexion and hair, she would be fine wearing any color. oh! purple for sure, because a dark purple could appear black - lilith would do that for sure... her dressmakers and whoever buys the fabric would hate her because it's hard to stylize specific purples with each other and look good, but in this worst-case scenario, she would simply apologize and try to compensate them. wearing the same dress/color for your whole life certainly never hurt anyone, right, queen victoria?

choosing between fame and love is not a hard decision to lilith as it may be for others. she's a reigning monarch for crying out loud, if she could have any other life she would. peace and love is the ideal "fantasy" life for lilith, and she would do anything to experience it. she'd give up her crown, her fancy dresses, her silk-smooth hair, anything. alas, she can't do any of that - only in her fiction books is that possible. love isn't something she'd had naturally in years - she couldn't bear accept it from her nannies after falling into her depressive state, and she's distanced herself from her ladies-in-waiting, and she fears they secretly hate her, so experiencing true, authentic, no-strings-attached, peace and quiet would be a godsend.

on a bad day, lilith will have one of her bedchamber maids draw a bath for her, and soak in it for as long as possible. when the waters starts cooling down, she will get dressed in her underclothes, drop onto her bed face-down, and scream her frustrations out into the pillow. she's .. pretty sure, no one can hear her out in the hallway - and well, if they can, no one's said anything. lilith tries to take her pent up anger and sadness out on inanimate objects like her bed so she doesn't do something she regrets like lashing out at a poor unsuspecting knight. and then, when her chest feels empty and she is much calmer, she will crawl under the blankets and try to fall asleep early. if anything happens, she'll be woken up.
