The new lineart sure is spiffy. Although I feel they look less regal. XD Jah~ I still love the species though.

Wow, the new lines look amazing. I love the big fluffy mohawk and the paws. The whole lineart is amazing. x3
The expression is awesome, too.

Just out of curiosity, would you ever consider recoloring existing smili onto those lines for some kind of payment or something? I'd love to be able to get Tarrow on those lines.

Can't wait to see some new smilis. <3

hehe id love to get my love in those lines X3

It's interesting to compare your old lines to the new
and see how your style has changed Spotty :3
Quite the difference in style.

Spotty, how would you feel if I created a species based off of an ancient animal? I was thinking about basing it off of mesohippus (an ancestor of the horse), so it wouldn't look remotely like a Smili, but I wanted to check that you were okay with the idea.

~Snickers

[EDIT] I have a concept if you want to check it's not too close.

-Thank you everyone for the nece comments-

June Bug, I'm very glad for that information^^. Thank you^^.

Veggievampire, you sneaky serval^^'.

Meadow, TaN was so great, I miss it big time. I don't know if I had any part in keeping it alive but both Wendigo and Atwood got a lot less time to manage the place, in combination with less donations over all.

wibeke, I'll concider doing a few recolours of old smili, but it's not sure. The purpose of the lineart is just so I have something to fill if I want to make new ones, not provide the old with additional art.

Applefiend, I have to agree on that, they look a lot less regal. Thinking about it, I should have a 'poofy cusion' lineart for sweet and pudgy smili. <3

HollowedAngel, I almost freaked myself out when I posted the images new to each other. I used to be so proud over that old lineart, now I think it's terrible. Where will I be in another year?

Snickers.doodle, I wouldn't mind at all. Smili aren't technichally based on any prehistoric animal, but they are some sort of generic feliformia animal. They are supposed to have their own family, but they rather look like a mash of the other feliformians. If you look at a smili and think sabretoothed-hyena-civet-tiger you get pretty close. The faint resembelanse to sabre-toothed cats are accidental, but when you think about it quite likely to hapen^^'.
Either way, no one owns ancient animals, so I really wouldn't have any say on the matter even if smili were already based on whatever animal you had in mind^^. No need to show me your concepts or anything.

I've seen several species which looks just like smili does, that's probably because they aren't very special. What is special though is the first page info. I've had it copied on several occations and it always upsets me. :<

Yes it's quite amazing to see :)
I have drawings from two years ago, everyone loved them, now I look at them and feel like hurling 0.e
But now you've developed a much more solid shading style, more like an animator style and it's a lot
less pixelated looking when it comes to your dogs.
You've also improved quite a bit on your anatomy and posing as well as expressions.
Your art is really starting to come to life now ^^

If you made that lineart I'd be all over it. XD Haha

Oh speaking of linearts, maybe you should remake the cub lineart? If you did I might have to ask (read: beg ) you to color it in Milk Tea. Speaking of which I might paint her on my new carry on luggage. Her or Kairos, one of the two. I'd take pictures if I did lol. Also it's almost like the Smili species evolved with the difference between the linearts. XD

I just wanted to drop by because in all my knowing that these existed I haven't really came in to make praise. I say it in such terms because I've always thought the over all designs were wonderful and creative. I can see prehistoric cats in them and I think that's what is appealing to me. That and the mohawk. I think Rose's mohawk was drawn that way for a brief period of time. Though I've never gone after them because I don't think I'll do them justice and I took TaN as a place only the best could really adopt. I doubt this as true but it was enough to keep me at bay for trying for one. Either way they're quite lovely and the new lineart I think suits them quite wonderfully. They still have that stunning cat like appeal and grace that they're known for.
Now to get some coffee so I hope this made sense. XD
