It's so funny. I was talking to a new friend recently and it turns out they had a cs account too right around when I did. It's so weird to think that I actually meet people who used to play on this site.

As a 2009 verteran I definitely feel like I've been here forever. Proud of my 9000+ Pet collection as the archive tells me it's gotten to now!



I remember when the pound showed up as pages, you could go right to the last page and get the oldest pet you could see XD It's definitely a whole lot fairer now but I do miss it!

i had my 10 year anniversary this year and god did it make me feel old im ngl
i came back in 2018 after a 5 year hiatus to give away all my stuff and well. here i am LOL. i just could not do it. this is quite possibly one of the few remaining things that ties me to childhood. so many fond memories, so many important people i have met. with all its mishaps and everything, i still owe so much to this silly little pixel pet website :' )

So I've spent more than half of my life on this site - it's basically part of my identity at this point (my family and friends would concur XD). Sometimes, it's painful to stumble upon an early trade/message to see how innocent, incompetent and annoying I was the first couple of years haha! This is why I'm grateful that even though I've been an active member since 2009, I've kept a relatively low profile, so (hopefully) no one remembers younger me...

Now in the aftermath of the list having been retired for some years, I've realized how off the value gaps really were... A non was supposedly worth like 250 MA's (who would be able to pay this?). And today? Like 12 XD! This has required me to literally change my whole world view: like if the old list's range was the equivalent of the whole world, this new range basically covers Europe XD. (I know it's better, kinder and more logical though!)

If I could have told my younger self one thing regarding CS, it would have been to invest every little coin I had into old store pets and let them gather dust for a decade haha.
(Of course, being as young as I was, there was no way I'd ever have been allowed to spend real money on a virtual pet site - but one can dream~)

I've come back and the biggest things I've noticed is, NEW OEKAKI WOW and I'M OLD, I DON'T UNDERSTAND "THE LIST." I've been trying to trade a ton because I'm after a (mostly) complete collection and it is so hard. I keep having trades canceled because my rares aren't as good as their rares and I'm just so lost.

Demand, I guess. Or at least that's the magic word everyone keeps saying. At this point I gave up on trading rares and mostly stick to focusing on keeping up with monthlies.

that number, so i was the 571st person to join

which then led to the realization that cs numbers BOOMED by the end of 2008, and even more into 2009

I'm focusing on monthly pets now too. I make sure I keep up with those before I trade for older pets and that way, I end up with tons of extras that I can offer in bulk for older pets. I got that golden gacha dog and the July lion PPS in auctions. Both killed me with how much I had to offer and that lion was just an uncommon. I feel lucky that I joined in 2009 instead of 2020 and that I'm an adult that can spend money on this game when/if I want. So I can offer C$ for hard to get pets. New users have no chance at getting rare or popular pets and that's kinda sad tbh.

I try to gift wishlist stuff to the 2020 and 2021 users when I can, since I've mostly completed 2021 up to this point. I just know how much it must suck for them trying to trade for stuff now that demand takes priority over rarity.
