The deputy looked quickly over at the sound of a rapid approach, bristling, but when she saw it was her brother, she relaxed- somewhat. She nodded to him, trying and failing to smile- with what had happened just yesterday, and the confusion, rage, and guilt at voting for the innocent Willowwing swirling through her, even a forced smile was beyond her reach. Starclan, why is this happening to us? Have we angered you? Do you mean to see us destroyed? Magpiecreek rushed over to her kit, obviously deeply concerned, just as Russetfang would have been, and so she took a deep breath, pulling herself together. "Magpiecreek, if you take your daughter back to camp... I'll bring back the bodies. Avocetwhisker..." She tiredly brushed up against him, looking for any form of comfort she could find in the face of this nightmare. "Can you help me?"

Cranekit stood silent, not sure what to do. Seeing Magpiecreek, she ran over shaking." I'm scared Mom," she meowed, wanting comfort.

Cranekit just sat near her adopted mother for comfort. Her eyes glanced up fearful, but sad at the same time. "Mom what's going to happen?" she asked, knowing she shouldn't be out of camp.

xxxx “I-I don’t know cranekit.” magpiecreek shuddered. cranekit shouldn’t see this, ever. “just.. come with me, we’ll go back to camp, ok?” she gazed at cranekit, trying to seem fine. the warrior reached down, picking up the kit gently before glancing at the other warriors there.

xxAvocetwhisker just nodded back at Russetfang, not attempting to give her a smile in return. There was a solemn set to his face, and he was trying to keep the worry out of his body language so he wouldn't distress Cranekit any further. He looked over as Magpiecreek approached, rushing over to her kit and taking over for Avocetwhisker. He stepped away and leaned into Russetfang for a moment as she brushed into him. "Yes, I can help," he replied softly.

xxHe felt like he was in a daze. Struggling to focus, feeling unable to look at the bodies yet unable to take his eyes off them. Somehow, seeing the bodies where they were left was worse than seeing them carried into camp like last time. It was eerie, horrifying. They were the victims not of battle, but of cold-blooded murder. He tried to fight the sick feeling in his stomach as he helped his sister carry their clanmates to camp on their backs.

Cranekit just nodded and allows Magpiecreek to pick her up.Falling limp, she just stayed silent until the reached camp. "Am I in trouble?" The kit asked, trying to calm down.

it had become clear to the clan now that they had been wrong to accuse willowwing of the murders - she had turned up dead alongside her remaining sibling, and that mysterious thunderclan scent still remained at the scene of the crime. a traitor still stood among them, and they needed to act fast to get to the bottom of it.

softstar had been looming at the top of the highrock for a while now, the clan slowly taking notice to her presence and gathering under it. she didn't need to call a meeting, the news had spread fast enough.

"i'm sure you all know why i have gathered you here today." she sounded exhausted, to think she allowed an innocent cat to be exiled and later murdered at the hands of one of her clanmates. rumours had spread fast and clan cats had began to pin the blame on certain cats. softstar didn't want to exile another cat in fear that they would be wrong, but she didn't have much of a choice - what else could she possibly do at this point? she tossed a glance down at her deputy, who nodded in turn, already knowing what needed to be done.

"please tell russetfang your vote, same as before.." she exhaled, hearing her own voice drown out in the murmurs of the clan mates below her as they spoke among themselves. she really hoped that this time they would be right, they had to be. what sort of leader was she if she couldn't catch a traitor among her own cats? the clan went quiet as russetfang jumped onto the highrock next to softstar, carefully whispering in her ear. in that moment softstar's expression dropped and she glanced over to the cat who had received the most votes. magpiecreek. was she really about to lose her mate over this?

softstar swallowed and spoke one word to the clan. "magpiecreek." before jumping down to greet her mate, whispering into her ear, promising her that she didn't view her in that light and that she'd be allowed back in once they caught the killer. her mate wouldn't do this, she knew that, but it was the will of the clan - something she seemed to have completely lost control of at this point. magpiecreek shared a solemn look with her mate as she slowly nodded, looking up at the clan before down at her paws. there was no point trying to fight it, she knew that, it was best to just listen to what softstar had to say.

slowly she trailed out of camp, russetfang following behind her as before. softstar watched her go, before following after russetfang as she had once before - she wanted to give her mate a proper goodbye before parting ways for an indefinite amount of time - it was the least she could do after exiling her.

yet another innocent cat! better act fast, thunderclan.
