Hi! I'm PrideOfMtVernon2.0, but honestly just call me #2 or smth loll

ive always wanted a gecko, even an anole or a snake or ANYTHING, and my mom FINALLY let me get a leopard gecko!!!
We're going to get it this summer or something, and I want to name them after a Hamilton character!!! Problem is, I can only find $120 (CAD) leopard geckos going for that price because of some rare morph, and i dont care about looks. Anyone know a store online (that ships to canada) that is maybe a trustable breeder? Thanks!!

The cheapest I've been able to find any from Canadian-based companies is $100. You could buy from a couple places in the states, but with customs and all that it would end up being fairly expensive anyway. If you go on Canada's Petsmart website, you can buy a fancy gecko for $100. Considering that they can live for upwards of 15-20 years, it's not that bad a price.

ah yeah, I've seen the 'fancy leopard geckos' on petsmart's website lol.. I was hesitant to buy from the commercial stores like Petsmart and Petco, but it seems to be one of the only options lol

ooo i'd love to but my mom's afraid of snakes lmao

oh and also: im a bit hesitant on getting a leopard gecko because of the feeder insects. Im not afraid of the insects at all, i just dont want any to escape and run around the house (and jumpscare me). and im in canada, so dubia roaches are illegal - otherwise they'd be my first choice. I'm thinking crickets would work, and also mealworms. But for mealworms, im kinda confused. If you're breeding them at home (which is recommended, right???), then wouldnt some grow to be giant beetles? And what would you do with those beetles, considering geckos cant eat something that big? Helppppp

I recently came into ownership of a beardie, but I can't figure out what type he is. I think he's a red hypo leatherback bearded dragon, but I could be wrong. If you have any ideas of what he could be, I'd appreciate the info.
