what is a log dog?
they're not dogs, clearly, but they're not entirely logs either.
truth is, we're not sure what they are. log dogs typically possess a rectangular
wooden head, a log neck with a few twigs and leaves, a furry body, and four legs.
we've seen them with all sorts of tails, ears, and accessories too.

log dogs are typically found in the woods although we've found them in other biomes
with different plant growth. they seem to enjoy eating fruits and vegetables, and
occasionally insects and small stones, but we haven't seen them eating meat.

young log dogs are called saplings. adult log dogs will gather in an area called a 'nursery'
and plant a seed that they've collected from their favorite plant. somehow, this planted
seed always grows into a sapling if planted by a log dog. it's quite something to see a
field of little log dogs in spring!

log dogs are found all the time in all shapes and sizes, so if you stick around enough
you may just see some up for adoption!

edit rarity
log dog edit rarity only goes up to rare and starts at standard.
there are banned traits that may only be used in special adopts or auctions.

standard: heterochromia, little twigs on neck, expression edit, accessories, leaves on neck,
weight edit,scars

common: mammalian ears, cat like whiskers, flowers instead of leaves, fur edit, mammalian tail

uncommon: two sets of ears, two sets of tails, paw pad shape change, pupil shape change, eye
shape change, plant growth on other parts of the body than neck, one set of horns, tooth edits,
longer/shorter legs, natural mutations (i.e -twisted paws, polydactyl, body length, etc.),
feathers, minor scalegrowth (under 25%), flightless wings, minor gem growth (under 25%),
profile edit (narrower head, smaller head, round head, etc.), glow, halos

rare: more than one set of eyes, more than two tails, more than two sets of ears,
more than four legs, functional wings, multiple heads, unnatural mutations (goop, bones,
heavy scales/gems, glitch, transparency, ghost, etc.), under 50% genesplice, non-mammalian traits

banned: no neck log, body entirely wooden, stick limbs, cyborg, no wooden head

general rules

• log dogs are a closed species created by corvidous, meaning that
  non staff may not make adoptable/premade designs for profit
  
  
• reselling log dogs for more than purchased is prohibited
  
  
• log dogs may be traded for other log dogs or l.d items two weeks after ownership
  
  
• staff may take commissions for customs in any currency (USD, C$, etc.), and sell a
  premade log dog for every one that they make.
  
  
• transfers are allowed if approved by the artist and the species owner
  
  
• respect others, be kind, and do not beg/whine/threaten others for log dogs
  
  
• you may not edit the lines, design, or other aspects of an owned log dog
  without prior approval and, if needed, the right items
  
  
• you may add items, change expression, etc. without approval
  
  
• you must wait one week before breeding a log dog. bred log dogs
  have a two week cooldown once the ticket is accepted.
  
  
  staff guidelines:
• every month of activity is one rare trait and under myo, these
  may stack to an unlim rare myo if you have two of them
  
  
• guest artists will receive one uncommon trait and under
  myo for their term. they may or may not be hired depending
  on their trial. these stack to a one rare trait myo with two
  
  
• staff may have personal nbs for every five staff related activity
