Does anyone else feel like Demand is killing CS?

the zodiacs are an extremely popular group and have been popular for a long time. while C$150 does seem a bit excessive, demand will raise the cost of the pet, even if they share the same rarity with a pet that's worth only C$20. the prices listed do not account for demand and honestly, the list seems far from how most C$ trades go for older store pets. even 2014 store pets usually go for more than C$65.

I guess demand is never really gonna go away, but I do feel like it's taken a little too far...and I mean way too far, because I typically go to this thread when I'm trying to buy pets with C$ from people but apparently the zodiacs are upwards of $150 when according to the thread a pet of that date and rarity would really only be worth like 20-40C$, and I've been trying to collect those guys for awhile now but paying $150 just seems a little ridiculous for me 🤷🏼‍♀️. that's my take on this whole thing

I totally agree that zodiacs are wayyy over priced but the problem is that everyone wants their own zodiac sign, and when they get said pet its very unlikely that they're going to trade them. So when someone is actually trading it people tend to overpay to get it. Personally I don't really like them that much (probably because I don't like the color of the sagittarius dog haha) but its just my opinion. Also, the c$ prices are skyrocketing, making c$ worth less and less, but that's a different discussion.

I might point out that it tends to be more like the other way around - c$ as a currency is very inflated, because there's a ton of it in circulation but very, very few "sinks" for it (a sink being something like the CS store pets, that takes the currency out of circulation rather than just one player trading c$ to another player.) And because c$ is so inflated, and there's so much of it being traded around, people end up paying hundreds or thousands for high-demand pets.

Yes. I got off of CS for a while, and when I came back, I realized like.. none of my pets are worth anything or in demand at all. And if they are, I have no clue what they're worth. I've been scrolling through pages and pages of people explaining, but I feel like I've still got no clue. Wishing I had someone to help me figure it out!

I'm an ancient member who is feeling so out of the loop anymore. I have no idea what anything is worth anymore and don't honestly have the ambition to even try and figure it out.
Nobody seems to actually enjoy the pets anymore. They all just run around grabbing everything up and trading back and forth like we're on Wall Street.
People refer to their pets as 'rares' and 'very rares' and 'uncommons' etc.
Nobody seems to actually see the pets anymore. Just rarity tags.

So, yeah, Demand has killed CS for me.
For the first time in 11 years, I'm missing pets and I'm numb about it. Despite the hundreds and hundreds of dollars I've sunk into this site I just can't care anymore.

I joined cs in 2016 so demand was a pretty big thing, but it’s definitely changed. I remember when I joined all I cared about was cool looking pets.

I’d say there’s some people on here who are kinda ruining it for others. It so hard to trade. Like.. some people’s personal demand is just ridiculous. I’ve seen people try to sell 09’ rares for like 600 c$. They where just normal 09’ rares too? Some people also want ridiculous overpays too. I 100% understand pet preferences, but when you’re asking for like 2 nons for a pet that’s worth WAY less, it’s just... yikes 😬
I took a break in 2019, and when I came back everything changed. Does anyone remember when a non was worth 3 shorbs and shorb was worth like 4 ballon dogs? Yeah. I’m still stuck tbh. You kinda can’t take a huge break without something changing.

I've seen people try to sell more recent pets for a lot more (and normal pets, not special releases). It makes me feel bad because new and returning users are more likely to fall for it.

Not to be negative about CS but the trading system is so broken for a central feature of the site. If trading is supposed to be a big part of how people play the game, it would really help if there were more official guidelines and rules or other staff-made measures to improve the system.

I'm not going to lie. As a newish user it can be very discouraging and boring. It's a major reason why I went on hiatus for so long. I'm more used to trading now and I've made c$ through trading but the rules about it can be all over the place and there are so many details, it's still kind of intimidating.

I had several accounts back in 2011-2013, i only had mutiple because i was a snot nose preteen who was forgetful in regards to passworld of accounts and email accounts. I had? Have pets? That made it to popular demand lists and THAT list. One of them has a evil twin and another had a raven dog. And it feels like unleaa i can magickally remember my password, id never get a raven. I mean, i got an evil twin, and then ANOTHER good twin (the first was traded for the evil twin)

Raven is my dreamie, im slowly collecting pets similar to it, and other pets that match the aesthetic i wear offline and in my stamp collect.

And the list is making it a frudge bagal to deal with. I wasnt one who used the forums back then. I was a forum stalking gremlin on the the prowl for my next trading partner, i didnt even have any goals, just get the cool pets i liked.

The list doesnt make ANY sense to my autistic wired brain. Non? As in.. Nonlist? And i need to give 2.5 of nonlist pets? I dont even know what is and isnt on the list??? Certain rare pets from those years are equal in value to their list counterparts, but if i dare offer one up to someone elses rare im a buffon. A dunce.

It doesnt help that theirs MULTIPLE LISTS made by DIFFERENT USERS who have collected somethinf even occasional counteractive data to back their lists so when you compare lists some of them countertredict eachother?

I am not a casual player, im nearly on 24/7 because im kinda in some dark place rn and cs is honestly the only thing im motivated and care about doing, its whats keeping me going. Im CONSTANTLY on the hunt for dreamies and desirables.

As someone who isnt a filithy casual perry, i think the list isstupid.
