would this be a fair trade for the pink balloon bun? i’m not used to trading pets that are this high in value and i’m a little overwhelmed lol

No, that's not a fair offer for your bun. Rarity-wise especially, because the pink balloon bun's rarity places it in the top third or so of the VR pets onsite.

Demand-wise, the bun doesn't have a lot of trade data publicly posted, but its holdover demand from the retired ex-list states that it would usually go for around 6 to 8 '09 rares. Your partner's offer consists of a rare 2010 dog, a rare 2010 bunny (their bun is also a re-release), and a rare 2019 Bwolf - plus 30 c$, which would be about equal to another 2010 rare. so their side totals up to about 1.5 '09 rares + a 2019 rare. They would need to add at minimum 4 '09 rares for it to be a fair offer demand-wise.

I'm pretty sure this trade isn't fair to me, but I just want to double-check. Thanks!

You're correct; the caterpillar PPS dog did not go VR before 2013, and the Ice Gryphon Store pet went VR in 2012, so rarity-wise the Gryphon is worth more, as well as being more highly-valued demand-wise by quite a bit due to the fact that it's an older store pet.

If you went by the 2:1 date rule, then their side is worth more than your bulk and they would be overpaying. however, it's begun to be recognized in some trading discussions that bulk offers can tend to have their own appeal in trades since it saves time and effort to trade for a bunch of pets you like in one go, rather than swapping dates/rarities directly for individual pets. if I liked the pets, I would personally accept this sort of offer without fearing that I was putting my trading partner at a disadvantage.

The UR flower has gone for 1000-1400 c$ in the past, and that's a nice add, considering it contains several store pets and a Pink Cake Dog, which can trade in the demand range of 2 to 3 MAs (or 14 to 24 '09 rares). I would consider this a very good offer for the UR flower, provided you like the bulk C$.

I don’t know the answer to your first question, but for this second trade, your side is worth more by the 2:1 date rule - which is not as commonly used as it used to be but is still considered somewhat standard. If you decided not to use the date rule, it would depend on how much you personally valued your pets vs their pets since there’s not a significant bulk on either side.
