"Indeed. Those amongst various other things like trade, wealth, luck, fertility, animal husbandry, sleep, and language. Though my dad mostly covers the whole God of Sleep thing." Ash said nonchalantly. He listened to Sa'd explain the prank with anticipation.
"A real sphinx and griffin? How'd you get those?" Ash asked bewildered. Though should he really expect anything less from the God of Chaos?
Emerson "Emmie" Tags: Caleb Location: arena
"I guess so" Emmie said with a smile. She half expected the boy to give up then and there but he didn't which was delightfully surprising. She enjoyed that he was stubborn, this meant he could be a challenge for her.
"Oh come on now, gotta ruin the moment with that electrifying pun?" she poked fun back. She watched as the boy pulled out what looked to be a wire with a ball on each end. She cocked her head wondering what he was planning to do with the makeshift weapon. Before she had time to answer him he was already on the move, she didn't have time to do anything. Once she had processed what she thought his plan was she had already fallen with his invention wrapped around her ankles. She grunted as she hit the floor.
"Neat little invention" she said simply as she sat upright and pulled the wire off. She stood up thinking for a second would this kid have any other devices up his sleeve or should she call it now and boost the boys ego before she could put him on his butt. She shrugged
"Guess we can call it and say you won since you got me on my butt forst.... unless you want to see my other tricks?" she teased rubbing her hands together like she was charging up shock pads.

The citizens of Canada's capital were just hearing about the tragedy in Toronto. More than 30 dead, all with a mysterious bleeding gash on their necks. The city life still went on normally, however.
Nathaniel Green had been on his way back from a long day of trying to condemn Washington Asministrations Inc. of corruption. Suddenly, a thin wisp of black smoke curled up his leg, unnoticeable. When Nathaniel turned into an alleyway, the tendril shot up his chest and into his half open mouth. He froze, stiffening for just a moment, then turned around and headed for the nearest coffee store.
"I'd like a chocolate frappachino please, with extra dark chocolate. You can never have too much chocolate." He got his coffee, and sat outside at a table.
The Shadow was rather tired. It almost fell asleep in the sun, sipping a very strong chocolate frappachino. A sunhat was lowered on his face, and the terrifying murderous shadowy embodiment of literal doom started to snore.
Waking up, The Shadow left Nathaniel in the same alleyway he had found him, along with a free souvenir - a fatal gash on his neck.
The shadowy giant spider grasped the half-empty Starbucks cup in one of its arms, and started sipping with some rather loud slurps, parked in an abandoned shed.

──── Aiden Seaver
【✦】| Athena Head Counselor | 15 | Male | Dining Pavilion ➡ Cabin 6 | Tags: Jamie
❝𝚐𝚒𝚟𝚎, 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚐𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚞𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚕 𝚒𝚝 𝚑𝚞𝚛𝚝𝚜❞
"Me too, bud…" Aiden sighed. "Me too." He imagined all the campers were wishing that too—that all of this was an awful nightmare Hypnos cursed Camp Half-Blood with for one reason or another. In fact, Aiden almost wished they'd gotten on the bad side of a child of Hypnos rather than a child of Khione. What would they do? Put Chiron under a sleeping spell that's only broken by true love's kiss? That sounds so much better. He mentally agreed. Aiden had been putting on a strong face most of the morning, Jamie would know. In actuality, he was just as afraid as the Iris camper, though likely for different reasons. If he didn't make it back from this, what would happen? Aiden had a responsibility here, didn't he? He was the Athena head counselor; he taught all of the combat classes for the year one campers. Those positions wouldn't disappear if he did, but who would fill them?
He'd asked Caleb to take over as the Athena head counselor while he was off on the quest (therefore, an indeterminate amount of time), but if Aiden didn't come back with the rest… who would they elect to lead the cabin? It certainly could be Caleb—if Aiden didn't trust him, he wouldn't have bestowed the role to him. There was also the option of other camps becoming year rounders, as well as new additions to the Half-Blood family. The training classes, however… Dahlia maybe? The daughter of Nemesis was certainly formidable, but he wasn't sure if she was in the best headspace to whip a class of lazy bones into fighting shape. Lord knows some days Aiden's patience wears thin.
“What does one even bring on a quest?" He glanced up at Jamie's question, the pair reaching the Athena cabin right around the same time. The head counselor pushed the door open with a shrug. "Just think logically. Weapons, armor, changes of clothes, travel toiletries, probably some drachmas and modern cash both… emergency nectar and ambrosia…" Slowly, Aiden was running out of fingers. "Hey, just pack like you do when you come here for the summer. You don't take everything from home I imagine, so you'd probably have a better idea of how to pack light than I would." Aiden's experience with "packing light" went only as far as just the clothes on your back, and everything else came with a few lessons in trickery.──── Nicholas Storm
【✦】| Horseman of the Apocalypse | 56 | Male | ➡ New York hotel | Tags: Malcolm
❝𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚑𝚘 𝚜𝚊𝚝 𝚘𝚗 𝚒𝚝 𝚑𝚊𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚗𝚊𝚖𝚎 𝙳𝚎𝚊𝚝𝚑❞
The term "upgrade" was subjective, and arguably controversial he would admit. Most gods either used mortals, demigods, or monsters to do their bidding. And in the instances where undead were used, they weren't conscious in the same sense as one would picture a persistent spirit. Nicholas thought of them as hollow, animate flesh or bone without higher thought. They follow a given directive, but they aren't good for much else besides swarming. "I'm sure you already know," Death smiled. "As a mortal, your guard dog is granted invulnerability from celestial weaponry and the like, but not much else. He can't see through the Mist or take a regular bullet any better than your average joe. It's not terrible, but it could be better." Nicholas set his now empty flute aside. "If the two of you are seeking my ally ship, you're welcome to my resources. If you do value his skills and companionship, it'll be quick and painless." a snap of his fingers. "That's all it takes. And without a body dragging him down, you might find more uses for him besides protecting yourself from political enemies." The horseman leaned back with a shrug. "Worst case, you change your mind and I'll just drop him back in his corpse. No harm done. But I'll let you make that decision."
The voice of Eris through the body of a mortal was mildly unsettling to hear, given that Nicholas' memories of the chaos goddess weren't his own, in a sense. If the sight caused discomfort, the horseman didn't show it. "I do remember that much." He responded, leaning forward for Malcolm's explanation. "You were fading," a rhetorical statement rather than a question. "Gods begin to fade over time as their name is slowly forgotten, and when people stop believing in them they disappear completely." He explained, a refresher for both Malcolm and himself. I am far less mentally prepared to be a deity than I thought I was. Why did I take Khione up on this? Too late now to get cold feet. "Primordial gods, like Kronos and Gaea, aren't affected by it as much as younger gods with smaller domains. Fate also plays a role, but as a god you have a bit more pull on the strings than humans do. It doesn't surprise me Eris took action rather than going softly into the night, and I'm glad to hear it."
"It's big, she and I can agree on that. But this isn't rapture. Trust me," his final statement was directed to Eris more than her proxy. "Granted, I might not be exactly as you remember me—a lot has changed since my time in Tartarus. Or—" For the first time, Nicholas' image began to falter. He massaged his temples. "There's two of us in here—or there was. Thanatos was supposed to become the horseman when the apocalypse began, but that was before I came around. He never—I'm not–" a sigh. Nicholas struggled to put the feelings into words. "It became my destiny to bring the Last Judgement with the other horsemen, when the seals are broken. I've spent the last, what, twenty years? Twenty years as a vessel, and for that long there were two of us. I don't know when it happened, but now I can't tell where I end and the horseman begins. Everything is… blurred. I never had the chance to meet you personally, but I know you've met me. I need you to take my word on this," Death's tone grew serious. "Tread carefully. This isn't my apocalypse, I can guarantee that. There's not been any seals broken and I'm the only horseman that's out. I plan to keep it that way. You can have your chaos and your strife—but none of that means anything if there's not a world left to influence."

Jack "Reese" Dawson | 17 | Hades/Cabin 13 | Location: woods | tags: Auggie, (Caleb and Emmie /same building) Nice, now more energy! Reese thought, trying to get his actions to actually pull up something useful, like a rock shield. Something shiny dropped beside him, and he glanced at it. A real shield, what trick is Auggie pulling? He wondered, his confusion fueling more rumbling in the ground, the dirt pulling up as though the dead were rising. He glanced at the others in the arena. He saw that Caleb was unarmed, and his heart quickened. This must be his then...but how to get it back? He barely noticed that the ground was quickly shifting into what was essentially a giant molehill in front of him. He settled the shield on his hand like a frisbee, waiting for an opening. But then Caleb pulled out a wire of some sort, and just like that, he'd won. Good, Reese thought, not noticing that the pile of dirt between him and Auggie had stopped building.
Now to get this back. With the girl on the ground, it should be easy enough. But then she stood up and seemed to be...flirting? The ground started to shake again, but he wasn't paying attention. He threw the shield, hard, and more at the girl than Caleb. Why do I feel like this? He didn't have time to ponder the thought, because a great chunk of rock burst through, about the size of a small car, throwing Auggie back, behind the pile and out of his vision.
Oh no, oh no, oh no.... "Auggie...Auggie are you okay? I didn't mean to do that, I swear!" He ran toward her, scaling the shield of rock and dirt that he'd made in his distraction.Ophelia Rogers | 16 | She/her | Aphrodite/Cabin 10 | Location: Dining pavilion | tags: Aydan, Mira, Celeste | "It seems a penchant for hidden weapons is at home here." Ophelia smiled at Celeste's comment, ready to launch into a bit more of an explanation, but she turned her attention back to Mira when the counselor addressed her.
Her stomach dropped, but Ophelia nodded at Mira's words, not daring to show any more expression than that around the others. Alex is probably...doing makeup or something, he always gets lost in his looks! She told herself, pushing her mind away from any darker thoughts. Steady on now, Celeste probably has amokinesis, no need to alarm her.
Oh no, Celeste's comment told Ophelia that she'd already picked up on the elephant in the room. "Alex is known for being dramatic, but we'll send someone out soon, just in case." She smiled, but it was thin, her words hollow. She touched the bottom wing of her butterfly, letting the cool metal steel her face. Even he'd know better than to turn up missing after yesterday. She turned and headed to the buffet, eager to exit before her facade crumpled.
Although the feelings were steadier than last night, they were still awful. She examined the table, trying to find something that wouldn't turn her stomach even worse. Pancakes are too heavy, eggs are too happy...hmmm. She eventually settled on oatmeal with cinnamon and raisins. 'Something fancy, for my little princess!' She'd been too sick to put up a fight about the wrinkly buggers, but amazingly, they actually tasted good.. She scooped it into a bowl, perhaps a little too aggressively, then turned back to her table.Agatha "Aggy" Clemson | 15 | She/her | Unknown (Ares)/Cabin 11| Location: Dining Pavilion | tags: Cass, Juliet Aggy looked at Juliet, a little confused at her sudden outburst. Then she nodded toward Cass, "She said I could go!" She said, her voice sing-song. This seemed about as good a time as any to pull the authority card. If something is taboo, it's always more fun! "Campers died here, so I don't think my odds will be too much worse going." She said, semi-solemn, for once. That was, until she reached a hand down to proudly tap her cutlass. "Besides, it'll be fun to test out Flora on some real villains!" Feeling that she'd successfully won the argument, Aggy stuffed another syrupy glob into her mouth, and began chewing ravenously. Whatever today brings, pancakes come first!Henry "Hank" Walker | 17 | He/him | Apollo/Cabin 7 Head Counselor | Location: Dining Pavilion | tags: Izzy, Skylar, Lucy Hank eyed Skylar. Could she handle it? That was a pretty big assumption on her part. Hank knew from experience that being overconfident had a way of coming back to bite you in the butt. Death hurt, even after you'd seen enough to last a lifetime. He let it slide, and settled for answering her question. "I don't know what's going to happen, but with all this," He waved a hand at the snow covered landscape. "Stakes are gonna be higher than usual." He narrowed his eyes, finally catching on to something about her demeanor. "You ain't really thinking about going? Are you? There's bound to be fatalities, and don't you want to be here for your siblings? You're head counselor, after all!" Worry crept into his voice, but there was more to it than that. Mira was going too. Does staying behind make me a coward? I want to be here for my siblings, but will some kid, some poor summer camper with a family waiting on them, die in my place? Can I deal with that if they do?
He shook his head roughly, offering her a grim smile. "I'm sorry Sky, guess I'm still a little shaken after yesterday." He stood up, shoving away from the table under the guise of taking his plate to a brazer, but it was far too abrupt to just be about that. Before he could blink, he was being called to by a familiar voice. He turned, and just like that, he was wrapped in a hug. Ah, Lucy. He smiled, for real this time, and hugged her back.
She pulled back and he looked over her, letting out a sigh of relief when she looked just as energetic and whole as he'd left her at the end of the last summer. But her question dragged him back down. "Not so loud, I don't think anyone wants to recount yesterday more than necessary," He said softly, nodding gently toward their siblings, many of whom were still gathered around the table. "Big House couldn't handle the snow. We lost seventeen, five of ours. You remember Brad, Jessica, Sabrina? The others were two younger kids, full sisters, Carmen and Mary." Twins, arrived early last fall. He winced, not eager to finish out the recap. "There was also a quest mentioned, ice an' snow involved." He gave her a hard look. "In light of recent events, I request that you stay here and assist with shrouds." His tone said that it was more than a suggestion, but he couldn't help it. He didn't know if he could deal with losing another cabinmate so soon.

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Aydan, though I do wish it was under better circumstances." Mirabelle flashed him a sad smile. She registered Ophelia's words, but they did nothing to ease the pit of despair growing inside of her. "As for Alex... I would go myself, but... I'm not sure I have the time before the quest meeting." Her voice faltered, though she quickly regained her more amiable composure. Internally, she was torn. Torn between duties, once more - her duty to the entire camp, to defend them from harm, and her duty as a cabin counselor, to take care of her cabinmates. Gods, she hated this feeling. It was nearly too much to bear. Rather than comment further on the matter, Mirabelle took a long sip of her peppermint tea - which was miraculously still warm. She absently hoped Ophelia wouldn't notice her notable change in beverage; she had requested coffee nearly every morning. Save those that she wasn't feeling well, of course. Truth be told, she wasn't sure her nerves could handle it today. Hence the tea. Mirabelle's discerning eye detected Ophelia's slightly unusual choice in breakfast food, but refrained from commenting. She could tell that the other girl was more upset than she was letting on, but the willowy blonde was not one to push such matters. Instead, she sat silently, contemplating the many goodbyes she would have to make before she left. She knew she was putting it off, but she honestly didn't know what to say. There were no words to express a potentially final farewell. No words to encompass how much Camp Half-Blood actually meant to her. But she had to try anyway.
With a decided breath, Mirabelle turned her attention back to the little group. "I'm sorry to have to do this, but I suppose I would have to sooner or later," she started. Her well-manicured fingers unwittingly twirled a lock of golden hair as she spoke."Just in case I never see any of you again... I would like to say a proper goodbye."
|⟡|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Dining Pavilion|Tags: Cass, Aggy|
Juliet was about to whip up a snarky retort, but she quickly thought the better of it. "Fair point." She shrugged, causing her ponytail to bounce ever so slightly. "Look. If you go, just try not to get yourself killed, okay? I don't want to have to go to another funeral." She cracked a smirk to indicate that she was joking, though in truth there was some honesty to the statement. When she registered the last part of Aggy's comment, Juliet couldn't help but laugh. "Wait... Flora? You named your weapon Flora?" she snorted. "Why am I not surprised?"
|⊙|Zahra Al-Amin|217/Looks 32|She/They|Magician; Eye of Sekhmet|Location: Cabins Area|Tags: Jay|
Zahra was about to head up to the stately columns that Chiron had referred to as the 'dining pavilion', but the feeling of a familiar presence stopped her. She turned, walking back the way she had come. She wasn't sure what she was looking for, until a girl standing somewhere near a red brick building caught her attention. Well, it was either that or the Egyptian sphinx sitting outside. She approached the girl, mentally remarking at her height. It was only when she got closer could she sense the death energy around her. I assume this is one of our missing gods, then. Zahra approached the girl, a mixture of different emotions quickly flashing across her face.
"Hello there," she introduced herself. "I am Zahra Abubakar Nashwa Al-Amin, Magician of the Ninth Nome and current Eye of Sekhmet. If I am not mistaken, you have a connection with Anubis, correct?" She paid the sphinx no mind for now, simply holding out a hand to the tall girl in greeting.

[✩] Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|Head counsellor|arena|tags:Reese, mentions Emmie and CalebOnce she’d regained her focus, Auggie lunged forward, ignoring the ache in her left arm as she struck out towards Reese. He seemed distracted, that was good. At the last second, her foot made contact with something hard and she was sent flying back through the air. She hit the ground hard enough to have the breath knocked out of her and she lay there for a moment, chest heaving and head spinning slightly. She blinked hard, trying to focus her gaze on the ceiling that seemed to be swimming above her.
Then she heard Reese’s voice as he scrambled over the wall of rock and dirt he had nearly killed her with, sounding more terrified than he had already. She lifted her head just enough to squint at him with a disoriented, half glare. After a moment of silence, she burst out laughing, laying her head back down on the ground with a thump. Her head was pounding worse than it had been before, and if her arm had stopped bleeding, it probably was again now, but she couldn’t help the hysterical laughter that bubbled up from her chest.
She pushed herself unsteadily to her feet and dusted off her clothes, one hand still firmly on the hilt of her sword. “Dude, did you just—“ She looked over towards Caleb and Emmie. She hadn’t missed the way Reese had looked over there before he had hurled the fallen shield with more force than was actually necessary. Guess I’m not the only one whose powers are ruled by emotion, she thought, though she never would have admitted that similarity out loud.
She looked back at Reese, raising an eyebrow suggestively. “I didn’t know you could do that.” She figured he hadn’t known either, considering he ‘didn’t mean to do that’. She wasn’t going to compliment him for something he couldn’t control, she probably wouldn’t have complimented him for something intentional either. Her gaze hardened again, all traces of amusement washing away into a naturally perfected glare. “Gonna kill you for that by the way,” She said with a sinister smirk, getting back into an offensive stance and preparing to go at him again as if she hadn’t just been knocked off her feet.[➳]Caleb Thomas|18|he/him|Athena|Arena|Tags:Emmie, mentions Auggie and ReeseCaleb rolled to his feet easily, spinning around with a grin to see that his contraption had worked. That was good considering he hadn’t tested it out yet—would’ve been a bit awkward if it had just landed at her feet and done nothing. “Thank you, I quite appreciate you being my guinea pig on that one,” He said with a smile. He knew that if he hadn’t had the invention in his pocket she would have knocked him out with some sort of electrical animal powers, he’d only gotten lucky.
He reached out a hand to help her up. “Let’s call it there and we can say it’s a draw. After that I’m not sure I want to see what other tricks you’ve got.” He chuckled, running a hand through his hair as though worried the static electricity may have messed it up.
A flash of silver in the corner of his eyes caught his attention and he looked up just in time to see his shield flying back towards them, heading straight for Emmie. He lunged forward, grabbing at the shield and catching it clumsily before it could make contact. He winced slightly, shaking out the hand he had caught it with. He glanced at Emmie to make sure she was alright, even though it hadn’t hit her, then quickly turned the shield back into a signet ring which he slid onto his finger before looking back at Reese.
The boy seemed to have knocked the purple haired girl off her feet with a mound of rock, he had to admit that was pretty impressive—definitely cooler than a couple of metal balls on a wire. “Hey,” he called across the arena. “Thanks, man, but maybe work on your aim.” He added with a grin.[✿]Jamie Wallace|16|he/him|Iris|Cabin 14|tags:AidenJamie was quiet for most of the walk to the cabins. He was getting lost in his anxious thoughts and he assumed the Athena head counsellor was doing the same thing, he only broke the silence one they had neared the cabins and he couldn’t stand it anymore. He leaned against the doorway to the Athena cabin, nodding as he listened to the other boy’s reply. He probably could’ve figured all that out, but standing here talking let him procrastinate just a little longer from accepting that the quest was real, and the inevitable turmoil that awaited them once they’d actually left camp.
Eventually, he knew he couldn’t stall anymore. It would be worse to have to leave without being ready. “Right...guess I better get on that,” he muttered reluctantly. “Meet you back out here in a few?” He asked before turning and heading towards cabin fourteen.
His gaze drifted around the nearly empty cabin that he called home for a few months out of the year. He didn’t have that much with him to begin with, it wouldn’t be hard to narrow down what he’d need on the quest. After he’d packed all the necessary things he looked over at the sprawl of art supplies he knew would not be useful to him at all. His knife turned into a paintbrush, maybe his coloured pencils could turn into throwing stars? He shook his head at the thought, but after the briefest hesitation, grabbed the smallest of his sketchbooks and shoved it into his bag.
He had to iris message his dad. He knew that this might be his last chance—last chance before the quest, he clarified to his own mind quickly. This wasn’t the last time they’d speak ever. Being in the Iris cabin it was quite easy to form a connection, an ornate sun catcher in the window cast it’s reflection of rainbows dancing around the room, not matter what the weather or light was like outside. He fished a drachma out of the pocket of an abandoned hoodie and tossed it into the air.
After a brief explanation and farewell to his dad, he took a deep breath and one last look around the cabin before shouldering his bag and stepping outside. He tried to keep his expression neutral, at least not any more shaken up and terrified than he usually looked as he glanced over towards the Athena cabin to see if Aiden had come out yet.
if only i could keep you in my pocket
to give me some diagnosis of why i'm so hollow
please give me instructions, i promise i'll follow
i tripped on my ankle and fractured my elbow
but doesn't that mean that the tour's gonna sell, though?
i try to explain the good faith that's been wasted
but after an hour, it sounds like complaining
wait, don't go away, can i lie here forever?
you say that i'm better, why don't i feel better?
the universe works in mysterious ways
but i'm starting to think it ain't working for me
doctor, should i be good, should i be good this year?

listen closely, she could hear tiny melodic voices. caspia couldn't help but laugh quite a bit, shaking her head she calmed herself down. "do I just talk to them?" she questioned, focusing on on a goldfish she made eye contact. her head began to slightly ache as she felt dizzy, collapsing to the ground. caspia suddenly she felt as if she was in the tank herself. she instinctively went to run a hand through her ruby locks only to find she had..fins? panicking she looked at her surroundings, fish looked at her curiously. "I'm trapped in a fish!" she yelled, swimming around rather anxiously. how was this possible? more importantly how does she get back? "hu!! help me!" she cried, hoping the girl would know what to do.ᴅᴇʟɪʟᴀʜ + ᴅᴀʜʟɪᴀ ᴡᴇꜱᴛ

dahlia noticed the change in his behavior, glancing over at her sister she wondered if he was always like this. the two watched him as he ran off. "where is he going?" she asked, bewildered by his behavior. delilah was a bit worried for the camper, although her stomach was practically eating her backbone she wanted to make sure he'd be okay. "I'll follow him, go get something to eat." dahlia stated, heading off in his direction. delilah nodded, hoping the two would be okay she headed off to the dining hall. "telio! where are we going?" she yelled, finally catching up to the boy.

mentioned: mira,
ophelia, aydan╚xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx╝ the others on the table seemed rather quick to brush off the disappearance as something to be filed as 'for later'. it was understandable - though celeste was not well-versed with what exactly had happened the day before, it appeared, through the general aura of the room, the looks on various faces, that it had been anything but good. more bad news was the last thing that they needed. so she dropped it, focused on the pain au chocolat on her plate, tearing off a bit of the pastry and eating it.
silence, for a while, broken by a breath from mirabelle and a following goodbye.
she let the words settle before she spoke of them, unsure of whether she had the right to say it back. they had barely met - ships in the night, and yet the nature of the sentence was far too familiar. "we have hardly said hello yet," she decided upon saying, a sympathetic smile settling. "farewell, mirabelle." a double entendre - a goodbye and a 'good luck' of sorts.

mentioned: nicholas╚xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx╝ malcolm hummed in thought, eyes wandering to the door that hicks had left from. it was certainly a prospect, and one that appeared the best course of action - but he quite liked him alive. there was a manipulatability. the man was malleable - the trust sincere rather than forced. would that survive death? "i am a man of the public," he said. "if they see me walking around with a ghost on my back, they might think i'm untrustworthy." a good point once said aloud. "but later. when things get... bigger - less conferences and more swords - then i may have to take you up on your offer."
the explanation of fading, for malcolm, was rather beneficial. an understanding that went beyond his consortium with the goddess that had her talons in his head. there were things that he had not yet grasped - things that he intrinsically knew, but did not entirely comprehend. his understanding had been that she had been weak, and his actions had, in some manner, made her stronger. so much was clear from the progression of his capabilities.
his eyebrow lifted up his forehead as nicholas denied the prospect of rapture, but had little to no time to respond before he was reaching in again, pulling her from the depths once more. "and thanatos' stance on this? where is he?" came the question. "is he aware of you? your presence in these events? or does he remain the blissfully ignorant psychopomp?" though malcolm's stream of consciousness had been somewhat silenced, he resonated with the commentary of the horseshoe-shape that becoming a vessel manufactured. "a great devastation awaits. the havoc created a ripple that transcended its point of origin - pulled me from the dark. after we have reached the epicentre, death, what do you know of what lies beyond the razing?"

mentioned: dahlia╚xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx╝ in the haze, it was difficult to discern how he had quite gotten himself into the mess he was in. he was walking. he understood that - one foot in front of the other, no hassle - but there were no thoughts accompanying them. like a hypnotist had snapped their fingers and now he was being drawn headfirst into the unknown.
well, it wasn't the unknown, per se. he knew exactly what he'd find. he knew what was coming, but the draw pulled him further regardless. he should have been getting someone. someone to help. someone who could actually do something that wasn't stand and gawk. someone like -
the shout put him off the train of weak thought. his gait faltered momentarily. one of them had followed him. dahlia, he remembered. good of him to recall, really. "i can't explain it," he said, getting closer to the forest with each crunch of snow. it was waiting, seeming further and further away. "you don't - you don't have to come with me. it's not gonna be... you know, you could just pop into the dining hall, get something to - to -" a bad time to forget the word. a strange word to forget. "fwyta - eat. something to eat."
he got into the forest, blindsided as to whether he was still being followed by one half of the twins, and as he walked further, the emotions seemed to double then immediately dwindle. the eye of the storm, he supposed.
the lone spirit stared. one that he recognised - though that was not saying much. "can you see me?" it asked. rare to find one that spoke to teilo directly. they usually just watched him, confused.
"yes," he managed out, aware that his audience - who he was suddenly very aware of - would find it confusing. "over here." a lump of snow on an otherwise clear path, settled underneath a branch that looked as though it had dropped a mini avalanche. "you should - you should go, dahlia. this isn't going to be very nice."
