Prompt for Hazan

Boom! Hazan lets out a low whine, not pausing this time. In preparation for the New Year's trials, where there are sure to be loud, terrifying fireworks, the dogs have been training with a noisemaker. Every so often, when Hazan is least expecting it, the noisemaker lets out a popping noise like that of fireworks. At first, Hazan couldn't stop shaking after each round of explosion sounds. But now, she hardly notices it, focusing instead on the task at hand.

The cow refuses to move. The others were obedient enough, but the solid black heifer is stubbornly staring Hazan down. Hazan lets out a growl in frustration, snapping at the heifer's ankles. She finally barks sharply, digging her nose into the heifer's side. The cow lets out a moo in defeat and lumbers into the enclosure. Panting, Hazan watches the gate click in time with another boom from the machine.

Vesper grins as she comes over. "Not bad! That old cow always tries to give us trouble. That was pretty fast!"

Hazan wags her tail. "Thanks! I would've gotten it done faster if not for that blasted noise machine."

"Really? It seemed like you hardly noticed it! I still jump a little when it goes off," Vesper admits.

"Yeah, I may not show it but it definitely still annoys me. I can't wait until the humans finish with their celebration."

Vesper nods in agreement. The dogs can't wait for New Year's to be over so the trials can return to quiet. Well, quiet-er at least.
