The palette and colors list is by no means complete, and I might add more as I think of them. Generally, I like colors that match a theme (ex: autumn, the ocean, sun-dappled forest, etc) and aren't too eye-watering. Feel free to glance through my posts or my Toyhouse to see examples of colors and patterns that I like. (Obviously, I wouldn't have created, adopted, or bought the character if I didn't like their design!)

I prefer designs that are simpler to replicate but if the design is complicated and pretty, then I will resign myself to only writing about them and dearly wishing that my art skills were up to snuff. Artists who can consistently do complicated designs, kudos to you!
