Personality: Sootpaw is determined and driven, but tends to be hotheaded. Despite his size, Sootpaw is eager to prove himself as an asset to his clan, and is always ready to defend it. He doesn't appreciate comments - sympathetic or otherwise, about his disadvantage. Though he likes to unwind and play when given the chance, Sootpaw tends to be serious to show he is dedicated.

born beside a small sick brother, verglasheart often received the short end of the stick
from both of her parents as her brother spent most of his kithood being treated for his
sickness. she developed a strong relationship with her father though as he made more
of an effort to be there for his daughter. shiverwhisker recovered but they were never
particularly close as siblings having not spent a lot of time together as kittens.
as a warrior, verglasheart became mates with the handsome and kind warrior bramble
berry, a cat she'd loved since being an early apprentice. they were inseperable, vergla
sheart had only felt a stronger connection with her father. however she never fell preg
nant with his kits due to fertility issues brambleberry had inherited. this struggle along
side the rush of being young and pretty shoved her into jaystripe, another handsome y
et daring young warrior. verglasheart never forgave herself, when carrying his kits she
always said they were brambleberry's. when they were born, her mate was able to con
nect the dots due to the kittens' amber eyes. remarkably, brambleberry still helped ve
rglasheart raise the kits despite his heartbreak, and took on the paternal role in their l
ives. when they received their apprentice names, brambleberry confided in her about t
he pain he felt and left to live life as a loner, unable to bear the pain of seeing his ex
mate's face and the faces of the kits that were never his in truth.
both of her kits died in the fires that swept through the old territory, caught in the flam
es. verglasheart blames herself for their deaths, taking it as a punishment from starclan
for her misdeeds in the past, and the unfaithful means by which the kits were born.

sequoiapaw was the only kit in the litter of his parents. his father, cloudwatcher, unf
ortunately passed a few days after he was born but squirreltail refused to let this dist
ract her from the miracle before her and she raised her son with all the love and com
passion she had to give. due to this, sequoiapaw developed a very strong relationship
with his mother, often coming to her in times of trouble even as an apprentice. to his
horror, squirreltail died in the floods that plagued the territory not long ago. sequoia
paw's mother had always been a drypaw and so had never been a particularly strong s
wimmer. despite the grief the apprentice is currently carrying, he tries his best to re
main strong and positive especially in such a time of need.
