Why would you like this character/What will you do for this character?:
I've had my eyes on her ever since she was donated. At first I was certain that I was going to put up a form for him, but then my confidence in my writing ability dropped after reading Ika's form. I'm still unsure about whether I should be putting up this form, but every time I pass the page, I can't help but admire her design.
She is absolutely stunning. Her design is actually quite simple but has been put together in such a way that really shows off the beauty of the design. Her colours blend so well together, creating a very soft/gentle look to her.
Although I haven't got any other horse characters yet, I'm looking for more. She'd have a spot in my character thread for sure, would receive art and be roleplayed when possible.
-----------------------
Personality:
Golden in both mind and body. She is kind and gentle, a mother figure to those in need. She'd never turn anyone in need of help down, it just isn't her way even if all she could do for them was to get help from another. Even in the worst of times, she wouldn't let anything get her down. She knows of, and has experienced sadness during her lifetime and so wouldn't wish it on anyone. She would do whatever it takes to brighten up those around her, even if they are total strangers. Lucky enough to possess one of those personalities that doesn't make many enemies but gathers lots of friends, she is well liked any where she goes.
As she likes to keep a smile on her face, metaphorically speaking, she is constantly bottling up her other feelings. It isn't that she doesn't feel sadness or anger, in fact she experiences them often, she just hides her emotions until she is all alone. So the only one that they can effect is herself, she wouldn't wish to upset anyone by showing them that she isn't really who they might think she is... As much as she hates to admit it, she is deceitful, lying to many others but as innocently as possible. Everything she does has a good intention behind it.

History:
The sound of hooves echoed through the valley, rocks fell from the walls as the frightened equines ran from the threat that had come to their plains. The shadows of the two-legged demons were approaching quickly, driving the horses further down the valley, into a trap. It was too late before the horses even had a chance to escape, the barrier was up as soon as they were all within it's walls.
The few days they spent trapped within the walls of those barriers felt like an eternity. The horses had now calmed down enough for them to be safely moved back to the ranch... The two-legs took their time about it, but they eventually got them all back.
Everything was wrong about that place. The way it smelled, the way the ground felt, the sounds... Everything was unknown to the horses, but it didn't take long for most of them to come round. The grass the two-legs served them was soft and sweet, covered in dew... Unlike anything they had ever tasted, it won over many, making them carefree, stupid, but not all. The lead stallion refused to eat at first, but his stomach soon won him over, but the lead mare wasn't so sure of the ranch. She jumped at every sound, every new smell... She feared the unknown and now they were in the center of it... This was not where she wanted her foal to be born, but she had no choice.
She was stolen from the herd one night. The relaxed horses didn't even notice, not even the stallion that had taken over the herd to watch over them. The two-legs had blinded them to the dangerous world around them, replaced memories to make them feel as though they'd been there forever. Only the mare remained now. The mare and her unborn foal.
-----
Thunder roared from the clouds gathering in the darkness of the night sky. Lightning flashed, striking the ground near the ranch. The cries of a mare echoed through the silence between the thunder and lightning. Even though her foal was not due for a few weeks, the stress she had been put under had caused her to go into labour earlier.
After several hours of agony, the lifeless body of the mare was taken from the barn, the small squeaks of the foal the only sound since the storm had faded. The tiny golden foal's helpless cries for her mother, but no answer was heard. Her mother was gone for good... Never to be heard from again.
----------
Emerging from the dust created by the hooves of many horses, the young foal now stood tall as a fine mare, her cremello pelt a bright gold in the lights. She had been given the name Oro, meaning golden, when she had been sold. It was fitting in both appearance and personality.
Tacked up in a lilac halter and a light saddle, she cantered round the ring, kicking up dust as she went. Her rider performed stunts on her back while she ran, muscles rippling under her pelt. Sure she wasn't the star of the show to most of the two-legs that watched, but she was content. The two-legs at the circus treated her nicely, they were fair, treated her as she wanted to be treated all her life but she still wanted more. It was the same routine every show, going round and round in circles, changing the rein, dressage movements... She wanted to be wild, to taste freedom but the closest she ever got to it was the field that the Circus put her in every time they moved.
The fields were always of the best quality, with nothing that could possibly harm the animals, plant matter or litter alike. Oro would have been extremely grateful but they were smothering them. She wasn't a foal any more, in fact, she was old enough now to have her own if she found a stallion she took a liking to. One day she would escape, she promised herself that... Then she'd find out where she was meant to have been born rather on the ranch... She'd run with a herd, like her mother and father had done... The wind blowing through her mane and tail, the reassuring scents of other horses, their voices carrying on the wind as they ran. That was where she wanted to be.
One day she'd break free. One day she'd escape her boring life. One day she'd taste freedom.
----------
Snorting at the sounds of the circus staff that had woken her from her slumber, she stared in fascination as she watched her breath. It was a cold winter morning, the first of many to come. Winter was her least favourite season... It was cold, the trees were bare, the grass buried beneath a cold white blanket. She had to stay in her stall until the show, then go back afterwards. Her rider stopped by every morning and night to clean her stall, feed her, give her water and some attention but Oro knew that something was wrong. Every good thing had to come to an end eventually.
Overhearing a conversation between some of the staff, her eyes went wide with fear... There was something wrong with her, something seriously wrong... Oro saw less and less of her until she didn't see her any more... She had been administered in the hospital for some kind of disease, Oro was to be sold to the highest bidder.
-----
The frightened cries of other horses at the auctions reached her ears, making her back up in her box. Standing in the dark, all she had to concentrate on were the roars of the engine as it shut off and the other horses. The light of the outside world blinded her as the doors were opened, the ramp going down. Her rider's father attached a lead rope to the halter she was wearing and lead her down the ramp, they passed crowds of people as they headed to a small pen that he had reserved for them. The lead rope was unclipped, allowing her to run into the pen away from the sounds but they were all around her, there was no escape.
I can't escape this hell | So many times I've tried
Her auction began shortly after her arrival. A crowd had gathered, each wanting to buy the beautiful Cremello mare for different reasons, some better than others. Many were carrying lots of money with them, but the price got steeper and steeper. A tall man in a rather expensive looking suit stepped up to the side of the pen, the crowds parting for him... He was certainly an important man. Waving a large wad of cash at the auctioneer, the auction ended, much to the disappointment of the others who couldn't out bid him. Much to Oro's displeasure, he wanted to breed her to one of his stallions. She had a gorgeous pelt and beautiful gaits, it was to be expected, though not to her.
Stuffed into another box, she took one last look at the outside world before it was completely shut out. Shuffling her hooves, she blinked as her emerald green eyes met the chocolate brown eyes of another mare. Sniffing each others noses, they both pricked up their ears, silently agreeing to look after each other when they reached their destination...

Other:
I'm changing the name and adding tack sometime in the story although it will not be permanent addition to the design, is this alright?
Yes, I realise that my 'Why I want this character' bit is incredibly cheesey, I can't help it.
I'll stand down as a judge for this one, for obvious reasons. Brammeh and Lune should be enough to judge this one character. I'll help judge the rest, it just wouldn't be fair on me if I were a judge on this one, as Ika would instantly win xD [I hate my writing]
