at least it was nearly 7 years ago. The new users that are going to see this and never trade their tokens/banner items aren't going to remember something they weren't here to experience.

The last summer events that had banner items that weren't tokens at some point are the medieval fair and the beach event, our two first summer events.
Starting with 2013's slumber party, every single banner item from a summer event has been a token item.
There are no non-token banner items for summer events past 2012.^^
