ORIGINS
- Somewhere in another dimension, fire thrived. A forest where everything was ablaze lived on for as long as anyone could know, everything there seemed to be immune to fire - including its inhabitants.
Emyrs was the name of a very special inhabitant there, in fact, it’s only known inhabitant. Emyrs thrived even more so than the fire that had lived there for many millennia, this was because Emyrs were immune to practically everything, they were immortal.
Water could be rare to find, but when you found it it was a beautiful oasis, streams webbed together, intricate patterns in the water would swirl around where waterfalls would break the crisp silence. Ablaze forestation lines the edges of these oases’, keeping them nearly hidden if it wasn’t for the waterfalls.
The Emyrs need water to live, but not as much as you or I might evolution had adapted them to not be as reliant on water. As well as the fact they only needed to locate one of these oasis’ every 2 to 3 weeks thanks to their tails, their tails had developed an inside pouch that could hold enough water to sustain them for at most a month; they knew when they needed to find an oasis based on the weight of their tail.
How They Got Here
- So how did they come to end up on earth?
For many years, Emyrs had been scared to go any closer to the oasis’ water than they had to to drink it. But one brave Emyr named Delta plucked up courage to venture further, into the beautiful oasis his tribe had warned him not to venture into.
As it just so turns out, Delta had just discovered a portal, one that landed him on earth, what greeted him when he arrived was beautiful! Another oasis, one like he had never seen before, there was no fire, instead beautiful glowing fungus laced the walls of this oasis cave and he could see a light up further ahead.
This lead to outside the cave, another forest, lush and green in color, this was a strange forest, he had never seen one like this before.
Before venturing any further, he thought he had come far enough alone, back in the cave, he noticed something about the water he hadn’t before, it appeared to have fire in its reflection. But there was no fire here? It didn’t make sense until he thought about it a bit longer, but the oasis’ back home were all a clear crystal blue, their reflection glowing; no one noticed anything strange about this because they all were like that, that was the normal oasis water back home.
Two and two put together, he entered the pool of water and as thought, he ended up back where he started - at home.
Now it was time to gather the other Emyrs and tell them what he discovered, it was time to venture into this other dimension, time to live differently, time to discover.
Not many Emyrs were persuaded into going through the portal, but a few did; soon the word spread of the water not being harmful, of the new dimension. Some Emyrs tried it for themselves, all ending up at the same cave oasis Delta had ended up at, some also reported sightings of a strange creature that walked on two legs and didn’t have much fur.
Delta being the curious Emyr he is, decided one day he would find one of those creatures and approach it - hoping it’s not vicious.
