I have almost 300 hoards (goal 100 for all) and 93 completed! theres something so calming about sorting and collecting pets :,)

i have at least 12,000 pets in my collection haha

the other day i had just hit 4.5k ish rabbits, and already i’m almost at 6k! i can’t thank the lovely people who have gifted me enough. recently i’ve began to buy 5 rabbits per c$, which has helped a ton with getting them. today alone i managed to get 500+, which is incredible <3

I believe a hoard is 3-5 or more pets, at least that's how I feel, more so if you plan on getting more or they're hard to get. I put my hoards at 10 minimum, but that's because the very rare ones are hard to find and 100 is too steep XD

Well, in my opinion you either have a collection or a hoard.
A collection to me is owning everything once. And as soon as you have more of a single outcome, it's a hoard. Technically it means even having 2 pets is a hoard, but I haven't seen anyone just doing 2.
The smallest hoard I've seen has 5 OMG so rare pets.

Everybody sets their own limits though =)

I guess by definition I have a tiny hoard of 36 of these butterfly wolves then. I mainly like them because when I see them as a full wall of color, it's very tranquil and soothing. I guess it's more "opportunistic hoarding" if I don't go looking for more of them but will try to trade for one if I stumble across it.

i've been buying hoard pets 5/1c$ and I've already got 560 pets to sort! definitely a great way to get quantity pets fast :)

Out of curiosity, I have a question: What constitutes as a hoard? Is there a number minimum? Or is anything a hoard if designated?

There’s no real set rules but what makes sense to you.
My opinion is that the minimum a hoard can be (for single outcomes) is 5.
You can get multiples out of adoptions so I think even 3 is pushing it.
If you have 5, there’s a clear effort to get more of an outcome rather than it just be by luck. If the pet is super rare though and there’s kinda no way you could have just adopted 3, then 3 is the rule I set for myself.

i think most people say 3 for very rare/older rare hoards & 20 is about the standard minimum for common pets (just cause its nice 1 page thing)

but really, it's multiples of the same pet or same style of pet (people hoard everything from a certain lineart, a certain litter, one particular pet, pets born on a certain date, pets of a certain color or theme (like all pink or food themed pets), modified line arts like 3 tailed dogs or even flop eared or bobtails
