Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness.

Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and as horses for mounted officers.

Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.

Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

Rules:
• General CS rules apply to all aspects of this species; no theft,
••begging, etc.
• Range Trotters are a closed species, you may not make your own.
• You may not be added to your Trotter’s image for any reason.
• There is no limit to how many Trotters you may own.
• Do not claim ownership/use a Trotter that does not belong to you.
• Do not ask for customs or breedings; artists will offer when able.
• Artists should not asked when or to complete judging. If it has been over a month since the original posted end date, I (HowlingHooves) will step in to ask that it be judged or do so myself.
• Artists should not be sent messages about adopts, all inquiries should be posted on the horses page.
• You may not sell or trade Range Trotters offsite or for another
••adoptable species.
• You can gift or trade Range Trotters for other Range Trotters; both
••the previous and new owner must post on the adopt page stating
••the transfer of ownership.
• All items are won through giveaways and events at this time.
••They may not be purchased, traded or sold between members.

Cooldowns:
• Stallions have eight breeding slots total.
• Mares have a two week cooldown with foals, but no slots.
• Foals have a two week cooldown from post date.
• Users may order an unlimited number of customs per month.
• Users may order an unlimited number of breedings per month. new!
• Users may adopt an unlimited number per month.

Staff Benefits:
• Three personal customs per month.
• Unlimited ordered customs per month.
• Four personal breedings per month.
• Unlimited breedings per month.
• Two breeding boosters of choice upon hire.
• All staff receive a special Staff Custom upon hire.

Line Edit Rules:
• Line edits will NEVER have a pass rate from parent to offspring.
xx>> All line edits made will pass only if the breeding artist is willing to make them! They cannot be expected to pass whatsoever.
• Customs ordered with line edits cannot be sold or traded away to others. You may gift them, if you so choose.
• Line edits will only be seen on Customs and 100 special adopts.
• All line edit prices will be charged per artist discretion, they will not be free with custom orders.
• Once an edited horse has been posted, you cannot request further alterations done, sorry!

Geldings receive a bonus of -15 minutes when competing but cannot breed.

Common - Bay, Grey, Chestnut, Cream, Flaxen
Uncommon - Black, Seal, Champagne, Silver, Pangare
Rare - Dun, Pearl
Very Rare - Mushroom, Chimeric*

Markings:
Common - Solid, Roan, Splash, Tobiano
Uncommon - Overo, Sabino, Birdcatcher Spots, Grease Spots
Rare - Appaloosa, Dominant White, Sooty
Very Rare - Brindle, Lacing, Somatic Mutations (Calico Tobianos, Bloody Shoulders included here!)

Common-Rare non-genome markings pass at 50%. (Pangare, Spots, etc)
Heterochromia passes are 50%.
Very Rare markings pass at 25%.
Mushroom is McMc to express, Mcmc to carry but not express.
Chimeric coats can only be obtained via a positive roll in any breeding.

KITgenes are not in effect!
They are not required, but can be used at artists’ discretion.
