History: GABBY'S STORY: PART 1
Horns blared. Cars darted down the blacktop roads, not minding the speed. This was Manhattan, New York. Cars never stopped. That's why is was so dangerous for stray dogs. They had to cross streets regularly, and it was rare that every dog that crossed, or at least attempted to, survived. But for the dogs, it was either eat, or be eaten. And you had to cross streets to get to food often. They took the risk.
Was New York ever quiet? Well, no, not everywhere. But if you go to 8th Avenue Broadway street, and you go down the alley, then take a left, there will be silence.
Close to silence, that is. You'll always here a hum or two. Do you want to know why? Well, of course you do. Here is your answer; a dog lives there. She is a beautiful, graceful girl, with a fabulous singing voice. She is quite amazing. I will tell you her whole story, since you seem so intrigued...
A mother dog panted, her tongue lolling. She sighed with joy and looked down at the one small bundle of fur in the curve of her belly. "She's beautiful," the mother murmured. She pricked her ears as she heard paw-steps. A few moments later, a large, brawny male stepped from the shadows. His pelt was black, and his hair was also black, but with deep navy blue streaks.
He dropped a large container of several different items of food- a to-go bag that had been disposed of. "Here you are, Ash." he said, smiling at his mate. "Thankyou." Ash replied, shifting so the small pup at her belly was unseen. "I have a surprise, Jake." she said, beaming. Jake raised an eyebrow. Ash's "surprises" were always interesting to see. His mate moved her legs, exposing the puppy. "She came!" Jake gasped.
Ash nodded. "She's absolutely gorgeous."
"Just like you." Jake commented. Even under her fur, you could see Ash blush. "What should we name her?" she asked finally. "Hmm..." Jake said, thinking. "Bella?" Ash suggested. Jake shook his head. "Gabrielle?" Jake shook his head again, then paused. "Gabriella!" he exclaimed. Ash nodded. "It is perfect." She began to hum a lullaby to her daughter, her voice quiet, and soft, and sweet. That is where that dog got her voice from, you know. Her mother could sing with the best of them.
Anyway, that pup grew. By this point in this story, she's an older child. About eleven, twelve in canine years. I am getting off topic, shall we continue with the story? Yes,of course.
Ash stood up, looking over her shoulder to glare at her pup, biting her tail, now older. "Gabriella, stop!" she snapped. Jake sighed. His mate had grown bitter since Gabby's birth. It was the stress of a pup replacing her old care-free, wild life that made her so angry.
Gabriella flinched at her mother's words. "I'm sorry." she mumbled. She turned to Jake. "May I go and play?" she asked. Jake nodded, and Gabriella bounded out of the alley. "Stay away from the streets!" Jake called after his gorgeous daughter. "I will," the reply came from far away.
Jake sighed and watched his mate, who was snarling and sifting through a pile of bones. "Ash, what has gotten into you?!" he demanded as soon as he was sure Gabriella was out of hearing range. "The stress, the pup, the work, my life. That's what's wrong." Ash growled. She plucked a sharp-edged bone from the pile and smiled. Jake's eyes widened as he understood her plan. "No, Ash!" he barked, just as Gabriella returned to the alley. Ash lunged at her daughter, the bone aimed for Gabby's throat. Jake bowled his mate away from Gabriella. "Run, Gabby!" he yelled. Gabriella scrambled away, scared out of her wits. She only remembers looking back into the alley a few hours after she had ran to find het father dead. Her mother was nowhere to be seen. Even at such a young age, Gabby knee that one day she'd have to face Ash. And only one would survive.
Gabriella soon found a foster mother. This was a wolf, named Sincinati. Gabby was trained to fight, hunt, and defend her territory. At the young age of fourteen in canine years, she was the best hunter an warrior in the forest; there was no doubt. Gabriella left the forest on her sixteenth birthday. She was ready to return to the city- and her murderous mother.
Only three years later would this young female meet the murderer of her beloved father. Gabby padded down the street, humming, when she was shoved down, the side of her face pressed into the cement. With the eye that wasn't closed and smushed against the sidewalk, she saw the only dog she knew that had blonde fur with neon green highlights. "Gabriella!" Ash snarled. Gabby heaved herself to her feet, knocking older, weaker Ash to the ground. Ash quickly regained her footing. Gabriella snapped her jaws in the air and let out a furious bark. "You murdered Daddy and you tried to murder me!" she screamed at her mother. "He was a meddlesome, soft fool who didn't know when or when not he was needed." Ash calmly replied.
Rage boiled inside of Gabby. She bared her teeth, and lunged at her mother. Ash turned out to be swifter than she seemed.
She ducked to the side and leapt over Gabriella, landing neatly on her paws. Ash darted under Gabriella's stomach and kicked her in the throat. Gabriella, barely hurt, faked a whine and crumpled to the ground. Ash smiled. "You are weak, just like your father." she snarled. Ash stepped close to Gabriella to deliver the final blow that would kill her daughter. Gabriella waited until the last moment, her mother's jaws poised just above her neck, to slam herself upward and into Ash's chin. The force had broken her jaw, from the sound of the crack. Ash fell back, whimpering.
"You gave birth to me at the young age of nineteen." Gabriella snarled at her mother, circling Ash. "Nineteen years later you die." she finished. She lunged at her mother, but hesitated. She stopped and backed away. "Go." Gabby growled. "Just finish me now. Or are you scared?" Ash said, whimpering at the pain. "GO! Or I'll take back my offer." Gabriella snapped back.
Ash heaved herself to her feet and limped away, snarling over her shoulder "I'll be back, and when I do, you'll be sorry." Gabriella snorted and turned around, padding in the opposite direction. She was ready for Ash to come back. And this time, she would avenge her father's death.

GABBY'S STORY: PART 2
A bark sounded from across the park. Gabriella jarred awake, yanking her head from it's rest on her paws. "Hey, new girl, c'mere!" the voice repeated. Gabriella lifted her head to see a handsome dog watching her. He wasn't like her. He didn't have hair with bright colors. He was dark brown with a sleek pelt. He also had on a bright red collar. Gabriella narrowed her eyes, but stood up and trotted over. "Hello! I'm Champ." the dog said, smiling. Gabriella suppressed a smirk at his friendliness. She had shifted more and more onto the depression since the fight with Ash. The sharp pain she had first felt when her father died had returned. She didn't do much of anything. Only eat and sleep.
"I'm Gabriella." Gabby introduced herself quietly. Champ nodded. "Are you hungry?" he asked, observing her unhealthily skinny body. Gabriella shrugged. "C'mon." Champ said. He lead Gabriella to a small diner. Champ scratched on the door as she sat down in the shadows. The door swung open and a large, fat human stepped out.
"Oh, 'ello, Champ! You back for more of my delicious food, Eh?" he asked. Champ nodded. The human placed a huge plate of hamburgers, fries, and other food on the ground. Champ dug in. Gabby followed more cautiously, soon eating rapidly. Champ smiled at her and lifted his head. He licked his lips, allowing Gabriella to finish the rest of the food.
"Thanks." Gabby said after she'd finished. The sky was darkening, she had to find somewhere to stay for the night. "Its not a problem." Champ replied. "No, really, thank you. For everything." she said.
Champ smiled. "Do you have a place to stay?" he asked kindly. Gabriella glanced uncertainly behind her. I can find... Somewhere." she muttered. "Stay at my place with me." Champ blurted out suddenly. Gabriella looked up at him, confused. "R-really?" Champ nodded, embarrassed. "Yeah..." he said. Gabriella smiled and licked his cheek. "I'd love to." she said.
The two dogs walked home together. Gabriella returned to Champ's house more and more often, until she practically lived with him. It was obviously love. Gabby would die for Champ. Champ couldn't live without Gabriella. But, Their love was tested when Gabriella decided she'd show Champ where she was born.
Gabby stood at the entrance to the alley, her eyes narrowed. Another dog had taken residence there. She snarled and stepped forward just as Ash- or whom she thought was Ash-trotted out. This was not her mother, though. She was blonde, like Ash, but she had bright blue eyes, not green ones. Was it possible... Had Ash managed to have another pup again?
Gabriella realized that when she had last seen her mother, and nearly killed Ash, her stomach looked slightly swollen. Yes, this was Ash's daughter- and Gabriella's half sister. "Hi! I'm Lyla." the young female said. She couldn't have been older than sixteen, seventeen at the most.
Champ raised an eyebrow and whistled. Gabby looked at him, her mouth agape.
"Champ!" she barked. Champ ducked his head in embarrassment, but managed to lift his eyes to look at Lyla. Lyla winked, just as Ash stepped out of the darkness. "Hello, Gabriella. Meet your new sister. She feels bad that you left for so long." She was obviously faking but Champ didn't know that.
"Gabby! You left your family for that long and you never told me? Nice. And every time I wanted to know where you came from, a little bit of your history, you always snap at me to back off." Champ snarled. "But you don't know the-" Gabby began, but was cut off by Champ. "Just save it." he said, turning away from her.
Gabriella snarled at her mother. "You will die next time." she whispered so only Ash could hear. "I promise." And with that, Gabby turned and walked away, tears sliding down her cheeks, as Champ and Lyla flirted.
And it did happen. Gabriella met Ash, as soon as possible. Champ, it turned out, had figured out the truth not long after Gabby had left. In a struggle to escape, he'd nearly been hit by a car. Gabriella saved him, and they explained to each other. Gabriella promised she'd wanted pups, but she didn't want them to live under the influence and fear of Ash.
Gabriella waited in the shadows of the alley where she and her half-sister lived, using Ash's signature move. Killing Lyla would be simple; the young female never learned to fight. Ash would be more challenging, though. She knew Gabby's tricks.
Gabriella was yanked from her train of thought as she heard paw steps and a loud bark. "Lyla! Get me my food NOW! Or you'll BE my food!" Ash commanded her daughter. Heh, Gabriella thought, at least she didn't try to kill you. Lyla rushed forward and dropped a large to-go basket of food and rushed back into the shadows, scavenging for food. Gabriella walked up slowly, so Lyla knew she was there. "Gabriella! Help me, please. Mom wants to kill me." she begged. Gabby snorted. "She's wanted to kill me since I was born. But I am going to kill her. She murdered my father. And you and Champ are going to help." She said. Lyla smiled and listened intently.
The group was ready by the time Ash got to her feet and came to search for Lyla. Champ leapt out first, clinging to Ash by the back leg, and Lyla grabbed her mother by the shoulder. Gabriella, seeing the pain in her mother's eyes, flinched. She gasped when Ash threw both Champ and Lyla out into the road. Before they could gather their bearings, a car sped forward. Gabriella rushed forward. Champ and Lyla were both dead.
Rage boiling in her, Gabby lunged at Ash. She was blinded by fury, and before she knew it Ash was dead. Gabby suffered backward and sobbed. Shed caused so many deaths in her small life of only twenty canine years. First her father, then Champ and Lyla, and finally Ash.
Gabriella walked until her paws bled. She laid down outside of a small, quaint little cottage, unaware that she had walked through about five states of America and was now in Tennessee. Rain began to pour down. Gabriella whined. Suddenly, the door to the cottage opened and a pretty blonde woman with blue eyes rushed outside. She scooped up the depressed dog and brought her inside.
Treating Gabby's wounds, the woman sighed. "I'll have to bring you to Silver Lining." she said. The woman did bring Gabriella to SLAP. But the workers always let her free occasionally so she can return to her home. That is why, if you're lucky, you can hear her singing. Some days it is a song of sorrow, mourning for the deaths she caused, and some it is a song of joy, for she is happy for new life.
Other: The story took me forever! Poor Gabby.

Well, she'll be happier once I find her a mate. That is, if I win her.
